Chapter 121: The Monster Book of Monsters

This kind of book had a peculiar characteristic—it was quite aggressive. Not only would it attack the user trying to open it, but it would also attack each other.

As soon as Alaric stepped into Flourish and Blotts, he witnessed this ridiculous scene.

In the place where there should have been bookshelves, there was a large cage containing about a hundred copies of the same book.

Alaric picked up a copy of the Monster Book of Monsters, casually flipped through it, and then went to the counter to pay. During this time, the book behaved obediently.

The manager was surprised to see this because Alaric seemed to have made the book obedient without doing anything special. 

He approached and inquired about Alaric's technique.

"It's simple. You just need to assert dominance over them."

 Alaric picked up another copy of Monster Book of Monsters as a demonstration. 

When he attempted to open it, the book struggled violently. Alaric punched the cover, knocking it out, and then easily flipped it open.

The manager was stunned by this violent method, foolishly attempting to imitate it.

"Don't be misled by his crude methods; this could harm the book," a familiar and melodious female voice suddenly sounded behind Alaric.

He turned around and saw Penelope walking gracefully into the bookstore. '

She took a copy of the book from the manager's hands and, with a flick of her finger down the spine, the book automatically opened.

"Oh, thank goodness, I finally know how to deal with them," the manager complained tearfully.

"I'm never stocking these books again, never! It's just chaos! We've had two hundred copies of Invisible Books of Invisibility before, and I thought there was nothing worse than those. 

They were so expensive, and we never even saw them."

The two exchanged greetings and then left together, laughing heartily as they exited Flourish and Blotts.

"I wonder why Hogwarts chose this book as a textbook for this semester," Penelope said, barely containing her laughter. "I dare say, it's an absolute disaster!"

"Haven't you heard? Professor Silvanus Kettleburn retired, and his successor is our gamekeeper, Hagrid.

I think using this book as a textbook suits his character perfectly," Alaric said casually. "Maybe he just finds these books fun."
