89 Chapter 89: Letter

"Rosier!"

William who was happily telling Cho Chang about the plan he had against Professor Lockhart when he was abruptly interrupted by Professor Pince who was looking down at him from above coldly.

"Professor Pince" smiled William "what brings you here?"

Cho Chang under the teacher's gaze hid his face in a book, most students fear Professor Pince mainly because she is the first to reprimand them in their school years, it is her job after all, in the library there must be silence.

"I guess your chatter keeps you quite entertaining, you even scare the ghosts away."

"You flatter me Madame Pince" William smiled.

"But I come for another reason" she held out her hand with a sealed letter "it was sent by Professor McGonagall."

William received the letter and opened it immediately, anything sent by Professor McGonagall in letter must be an urgent matter.

Madame Pince and Cho Chang stood at attention watching William as he read the contents of the letter.

William stopped and looked at both women.

"What does it say?" asked Cho Chang

"It's about the summer event, about Fenrir Greyback and his trial" he closed the letter and put it on the table, just hearing the name of the lycanthrope made the wound in his abdomen hurt, for some reason even to this day he still felt the scratch.

Madame Pince watched William carefully, she knew him since he entered Hogwarts, she witnessed the evolution of the youngest Rosier therefore she is the one who can recognize any change in the boy.

"Do you have to go to the trial?" she asked.

"I'm the only one available from the people who were in the conflict at the time and I'm the one who fought directly against him."

"Plus the only one who was directly hurt by his claws right?"

William nodded his head.

"When will the trial be?" asked Cho Chang curious.

"In three days, Professor McGonagall will be accompanying me throughout, plus she enclosed that I will receive a third class merlin order for capturing one of the most wanted people in the magical world"

"A merlin's warrant?!" exclaimed Cho Chang in surprise.

"Yes... It's more like a way to show the world that 'heroes' still exist, mere publicity."

"You can't talk that way about an order of merlin, it is not only a title given to any wizard but to those who achieved feats and who in times of emergency will be the pillars for the magical world, you must have respect to with this honor, even headmaster Dumbledore has his first class order of merlin" Madame Pince expressed her sincere opinion.

William who listened to her attentively only opened his mouth when she finished her speech "Gilderoy Lockhart" were those only words she said and Madame Pince only turned her head to the side.

"I can't deny that he is a talker, but there is no hard evidence to prove that he didn't do those deeds."

Madame Pince was right, there is no real proof yet.

"Well let's leave the merlin order aside, I will receive it as it proves I am a wizard with ethics and courage, it will be interesting to see the reactions of the students when one of the candidates for Slytherin heir has a merlin order" William smiled mischievously "But right now it is more important to me the trial, Fenrir Greyback is not a criminal like many others, maybe even the lycanthropes that are under his power now create more riots."

"It is a fact that attacks by Lycanthropes will have an exponential increase, but that is not an issue you should be concerned about, you are still a child."

"Yes, I am a child but part of a family with great social impact, a Rosier after all."

Cho Chang and Madame Pince exchanged glances.

Outside the Hogwarts library, far away in the Rosier family territories, there in the green castle another story was what was going on.

"Is it true what the letters from the ministry say?" Abbey paced back and forth in the hall.

Near Abbey stood her eldest son Marcus with the letter mentioning in his hands "Yes, double check the contents. Little Will is to receive a merlin order of the third class."

"Greyback was always a savage, you have to admit that's quite an achievement considering Will's age, even trained aurors don't stand a chance against that beast" Marcus folded the letter and put it on the table "this shows us that Will is not wasting his time at Hogwarts or Castelobruxo, I can certainly say that grandfather is making a long term investment"

"That's the problem" Abbey looked in the direction where Lord Rosier's office should be "your grandfather has different ideals than your father carried and he wishes William to follow the same path."

"Dad's ideals didn't really take him very far"

"Marcus!"

"I am only telling the truth. Even if grandfather's ideals are different this is a matter that requires attention, an order from merlin only brings more prestige to the family and is cause for celebration, I must think of a suitable gift for my little brother don't you think mother?"

Abbey just looked aside irritated and Marcus left the castle with a smile on his face.
