12 the boys who lived

Meeting my first cannon character (relevent one) was quite the experience. There was so much more depth to Hermione than a character in a book. She wasn't all, the stuck up nerd, the first book projected her as. She was a living breathing person with interests.

"you have started practicing spells already???"

Hermione replied with obvious pride:" oh just a few simple ones. Not much really. I am more surprised you haven't. I mean it's magic Harry. And you didn't try it out or anything??"

I shrugged:"I didn't want to do anything wrong and fuck up-"

"language" Hermione interrupted me scowling.

I blinked in confusion. Right. She's eleven years old. And Harry potter was a strictly pg-13 book.

"screw up.... ?"

She scowled but nodded nonetheless.

"screw up my magic casting capabilities or something. I mean we don't know anything about these things."

"I strictly followed the guidelines. I didn't do anything out of what the books said. The magic only exploded like two times. So it should be fine."

I smiled on the outside. But it just reassured me about my infinite wisdom about not, touching spells with a ten foot pole until I had some proper guidance. But I still can't believe, THE HERMIONE GRANGER, didn't think of the dangers of magic before casting it. But then again she did put Rita skeeter in a glass jar. There was no end to gryffindor craziness.

"yes I didn't try spells, but I did try to get in touch with my magic itself" I replied with smugness in my own voice.

"how so?"

I smile and pointed my finger at a stray pebble about 5 feet away. It slowly levitated a few millimeters wobbling. Suddenly Quicker than my senses could follow the rock was in my hands as if taut by an invisible fishing rope.

Hermione smiled at me with awe:"that was awesome. And that was pure magic. You manipulated pure magic to wrap around the rock and levitated it and brought it to yourself all in under what, a seconds. "

I shrugged and waved my hands her smiling. But goddamn! It felt GOOD to have 10 years of hard work appreciated.

"please I'm sure it's nothing a spell can't replicate. I mean compared to the delicate intricacies of spells my way of brute forcing by using pure magic is actually-"

"wingardium Leviosa" said Hermione rudely interrupting my monologue (again). My skin tingled as magic rushed out. A pebble smoothly elevated, rushing right out into Hermione's hands.

She looked at me smiling and said:"guess you are not the ONLY one with tricks. Eh? "

I blinked. I rubbed my own eyes to look again. My technique of telekinesis, which I developed with TEN whole years, was beaten, by a first year charm. A FIRST YEAR CHARM. which she probably learned last month.

You see my fellow isekai writers. Now in my pain..., My INCREDIBLE pain, there is a lesson to be learned. Just because you reincarnated does not automatically give you the ability to ignore the fundamental laws and principles of the worl- GODDAMMIT!!!

TEN FUCKING YEARS!!!

WASTED!!!

GODDDDAMMMIT!!!!

but of course I didn't show that to her. I didn't want my first friend to think I'm a lunatic. Smiling on the outside. Dying in the inside.

"th-that was highly impress-"

I was interrupted from my reply (AND saved from my humiliation) by the sudden chatter that broke out in the central atrium of the station. The entire crowds attention, including our own, turned to the point of the chatter. Crowds were clamouring around the point, the chattering increasing.

Soon the chattering crowd parted ways to reveal a family making their way. An old woman lead the little family procession and stood in front of someone, as if hiding said someone from the crowds. Flanking on either of their sides were two couples of varying ages, pushing the huddling crowd away.

The crowd still tried to get to whoever was in the middle of the human shield, but the hordes were pushed away by the couples and the old woman.

The hordes soon started getting more adamant and tried to force their way in. Suddenly the old lady had had enough. Her hands flickered and not a second later it was occupied by a wand. The crowd suddenly seemed a lot less anxious to push and pull.

"back-off" the older lady said in deadly ultimatum, her wand tip bursting bright red. The crowd finally got the message and slowly broke off. The older woman lowered her wand, her scowl still evident, and waved her hand to tell, the hidden individual to come out.

Breaking the human shield emerged.... A child. I squinted my eyes for a better view. Suddenly my eyes widened. Coming out of the human barricade was.... Neville longbottom, the boy who lived.
