Magic and Status

Magic in this world is quite simple superficially, yet complicated when one dives deeper into it. There are three types of magic, which are : Universal Magic, Dimensional Magic and Personal Magic.

Universal magic is the kind of magic that is available to everyone. Even muggles or as I call them 'Normies' can get access to this type of magic. The most common way to get access to this magic, one needs to consume an object filled with a huge amount of Universal Magic (such objects are quite rare), which in turn will give them unique magical skills that uses Universal magic as a fuel. But consuming such an object filled with this magic will most likely result in explosion of the person consuming it. To prevent that from happening one must consume such an object alongside a neutralizer specific to that object, but this knowledge is lost to the people in this world because an old War of Ancient Wizards and Universal Magic 'Normie' users caused the knowledge to go extinct. Thus, unfortunately there are no Normies who use this magic and wizards who know about this magic in this world currently. Though there are sometimes when Universal Magic may manifest in the form of bloodline magic in Wizards who are descendants of Ancient Wizards who had access to this magic and wizards mistake bloodline magic to be Personal Magic that have due to their ancestry.

Dimensional Magic is a magic which can be used by anyone who has Personal Magic or Universal Magic. This magic also shows unique properties depending on which dimension it originates from. Apparently this world has advanced a bit when it comes to this magic. The people who use this magic are usually called Shamans and their population is concentrated in Africa, India, and China. But they don't interact with normal wizards of other countries. There are almost no such shamans in Europe as pure-blood wizards here have prejudice against them for using an external source of magic and muggle-born wizards have no knowledge about them.

Personal Magic is the magic that every wizard uses regularly through his/her magical core. The magical core is the source of Personal Magic for every wizard, it doesn't exist in the physical world but in between the physical world and the lower layers of the spirit world. The magical core is dormant until the age of 10-11 when it fully awakens, though it can temporarily awaken before the age of 10-11 when a child is under extreme emotional state and this temporary feat of magic is often called 'accidental' magic by wizards. One can fully awaken the magical core before the age of 10-11, using a special method during the first feat of 'accidental' magic.

Spirit world is a dimension parallel to the normal physical world. The spirit world is dived into many layers. Wizards can only sense their magical core if they meditate from childhood and fully awaken their core before the age of 11 as every child can feel the connection the child has with the spirit world which blurs as he/she ages until the child is no longer able to feel the connection unless the child gets used to regularly sensing his/her magical core in the spirit world through meditation thus strengthening the connection. But to perform Personal Magic, being able to sense the connection to the spirit world or being able to sense magical core is not needed as long as one has a magical focus such as a wand. The knowledge of spirit world was also lost in the old war.

I exhale slowly while thinking about what he learned right now.

This action seems to alert my mum Ember who comes over and speaks to me.

"Are you ok Regi?

Do you want something from mama?"

I shake my head in denial.

"Me ok mama."

My mum hugs me and gives me a smooch on the cheek, before answering.

" That's great.

Call mama if you need something, okay."

To which I nod.

"Unnn."

My mum goes back to her chores after being sure that everything is alright.

I still have to check my status screen and my pocket dimension.

As I was thinking seriously about my status and comparing it with the knowledge I got, my dad comes to me, and he proceeded to squeeze me and rubbed my cheeks together.

"Aren't you the cutest with that serious face of yours? I am sure you'll grow up to be a ladykiller just like your handsome and YOUTHFUL dad."

Huh? Now what did I do. Can't a baby even think in peace.

He soon let me down after he felt he had hugged me enough.

"Anyway dad has some work to do. We will play a little together afterwards."

I felt relieved that he went to his work.

I lied down again and concentrated on my pocket dimension.

'Huh? Looks like I am unable to access the pocket dimension until I fully awaken my core'.

Damn it, I was really getting excited to explore MY own little pocket dimension and I can't even try to fully awaken my dormant core using the special method before my first feat of 'accidental' magic. The only other method that I have to fully awaken my core is to meditate on the connection between me and my soul (in the spirit world) and strengthen it, to upgrade my soul to peak tier 2 where I am able to put my consciousness into my soul, and then forcefully awaken my magical core from there (the spirit world).

Hah, looks like I've a lot of work to do if I want to become OP quickly.
