The Philosopher's Stone! Part-2

{3rd Floor Corridor, Hogwarts, Scotland}

{01:48 PM, 11th Jan 1992}

Harry stared at the Chessboard in front of him, it appeared as though the chess pieces were transfigurations, and quite high-quality ones, he concentrated on scanning each piece and there were no runes drawn on any one of them, but they still seemed full of magic.

'There are additional charms placed on them even after discounting the spells use to hold these transfigurations together for a longer period of time, maybe they are animated to play like a real Wizard's chess?'

"So what do we do now?" Charlus asked as he was looking around at the sides, but the chessboard was occupying the whole floor of the room, while Harry stared at the four empty spaces on the sides of the chess pieces, Charlus let out an annoyed grumble, "What, why are we supposed to play with a disadvantage of playing with four-piece missing, this isn't fair... I wanna play as whites, they defi-" he stepped abruptly and Harry's eyes widened as the chess pieces started marching to the side of the board forming a path for them to take to the door at the end of the room.

*Blink* *Blink*

Harry stared at the path before he turned to look at Charlus who had a gobsmacked look on his face.

'This moron...'

Harry quickly figured out what had happened, whoever designed the board had set a password for the obstacle since they had to just move to the other side of the room, asking to play as the white was a shortcut to the challenge.

'A bit racist tho-' Harry mused as he started walking through the path, while Charlus hurried to follow Harry heard several grunts coming from the next room, he put an ear to the door and tried to figure out what kind of creature was in the next room.

*Bang*

He heard a muffled bang, it seemed like something massive collided with the floor after that he heard a muffled scream of rage, by then Charlus was also beside Harry, and his widened eyes told Harry all he wanted to know. With a smirk on his face, Harry pointed his wand to the door and said aloud just for Charlus's benefit.

"Alohamora~"

"HARRY!!" Charlus screamed as he backed away as a foul stench reached both their noses, Harry's face scrunched as he quickly waved an air purifier spell around himself but it barely lasted a second before the smell returned.

'A Troll!' Harry immediately guessed and he lowered his guard a little bit, at least it was something manageable, he had read about the trolls so he was fairly certain he could easily deal with one. He stepped into the room to find the Mountain Troll staring right at them, Harry noticed its bald head, with thick, dark grey skin that was stretched like rubber, it was wearing something close to rags and was holding onto a big club.

Oh! and it was 8 feet tall, that part might have easily slipped his notice considering it totally didn't tower over the two of them.

"T-troll??" Carlus questioned/answered as he fumbled trying to get his wand out, while Harry gave him a weird look, 'Surely someone should be more afraid of the gatekeeper of Hell rather than just a mountain troll, I mean, ain't that thing really dumb?'

Maybe it was true, an unknown danger was more terrifying than a known entity, deciding to give his brother's heart a mercy Harry slashed his wand and fired a 'Reducto~' at the club in the troll's hand.

The dumb beast had by now comprehended that there were new people in his domain, and the spell impacted blowing his club into pieces. His yell of anger was turned into an exclamation as he stared at the wooden stump in his hand while several wooden splinters were sticking out of his upper torso and his hand.

"AAArrrrrgghhhh!" While the Troll yelled again as the pain now assaulted him, Harry changed the 'Stupefy-' he was about to fire at him into a 'Tabula Ori~'.

The ground beneath the Troll trembled before shooting upwards at a fast speed and in a moment, the skull of the Troll and roof had a nice short meeting. Harry let go of the transfiguration spell and the ground returned to normal and with it a now unconscious troll that further fell around 10 feet into solid concrete.

*Crunch*

Harry winced as he stared at the now unconscious? Troll. Maybe he needed to reevaluate his capture spells a little bit, unless his enemy was Winter Soldier who could shrug that impact like it was nothing it would not do well to try and capture normal humans or wizards with what he had dubbed 'clever and useful knockout spell' in his mind.

"Wasn't that a bit too harsh?" Charlus questioned, his wand now firmly in his hand, Harry gave him a glare as he rushed towards the exit, now that the immediate danger had gone he could smell that foul smell all around the room, ignoring whatever mess the troll had made during his stay in this room for Merlin knows how long, Harry quickly opened the next room only to come face to face with Dumbledore.

Harry stopped, his emotions once again hidden behind a perfect mask as Charlus stammered behind him, "P-professor ... h-hello ... fancy seeing you here, it's a nice place for a stroll isn't it?"

Harry winched internally at Charlus but Dumbledore chuckled, "Indeed it is, although if I remember correctly it was supposed to be a forbidden one, while I commend you for your little adventure I think it's time to go back isn't it?" Charlus chuckled nervously and Harry still remained silent, He heard a loud chirp before Fawkes appeared out of nowhere and grabbed Charlus's shoulders before he vanished in a curtain of flames.

Harry stared at Dumbledore awkwardly for a second before he asked, "Why are you testing him?"
