Chapter 2 ~ Visit

The weeks seemed to fly by as we waited for an answer of some kind from Mrs. McGonagall I had also reread my letter. That's when I noticed that there was a second page which had me curious so I got Harry's attention from the window and showed him. We had started taking turns looking for an owl of any kind that might be bringing us news of what's going on. "I found a second page... it seems to be a school supplies list..." I said looking up at Harry confused while knowing mom and dad had saved up a lot of money for us. I looked over the list excited and wanting to go ahead and get our supplies so we could start learning. Almost as if answering my excitement the door bell rang which confused us since we weren't expecting company today. We heard Petunia go to answer it, but the curiosity got the better of us so we walked quietly out of our room.

We stopped at the top of the stairs before looking down the stairs which had me smiling since there stood Albus Dumbledore himself. He was talking to Petunia about something we couldn't hear before they turned to see us. I also saw that McGonagall and Hagrid was with them before we all headed to the living room. "Who are you?" I looked at Harry a little nervous and worried but it seemed like Albus didn't mind and answered his question. "I am Albus Dumbledore headmaster at Hogwarts, beside me is Professor McGonagall, and our grounds keeper Rubeus Hagrid." I smiled over at them I had the letter I had received before hidden in my skirt at the moment. We waited for Vernon to come home but while we did Dumbledore handed us letters which had me confused since I still had my letter. "Its the tickets for the Hogwarts Express and details of how to get to the platform." I nodded smiling while opening it to confirm while also adding my letter to it without being noticed. 

The conversation continued about our schooling when Vernon walked into the house and he wasn't happy to see our guests. He looked at us but noticed that I had my letter still in the envelope about to pull it out which is what I had planned while the teachers knew that I hadn't just got it. It's a lot of headaches but it was still fun, mostly because they were an every day thing for me nowadays. I looked over at Dumbledore but he was busy talking to Harry about something while I looked at our lists.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

First-year students will require:

1. Three sets of plain work robes (black)

2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear

3. One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)

4. One winter cloak (black, silver fastenings)

1 cauldron (pewter, standard size 2)

1 set of glass or crystal phials 

1 telescope

1 set brass scales

Students may also bring an owl OR a cat OR a toad

PARENTS ARE REMINDED THAT FIRST YEARS ARE NOT ALLOWED THEIR OWN BROOMSTICKS 

"Where do we go to buy all this?" I said looking over at Dumbledore curious or at least faking it since I already knew were we would be getting it. "In Diagon Alley, Professor McGonagall would you be kind enough to escort them there with Hagrid??" She smiled at him which had me smiling happily along with Harry since this is something that we've both wanted. "We'd be happy to take them Albus, wouldn't we Hagrid?" Hagrid just smiled and nodded as if saying he he'd be more than happy to take us out to get our school supplies. However Vernon decided to voice his distaste of us even going to Hogwarts which had Dumbledore upset with him but we were allowed to go anyway. I was super happy and excited about all of this that I wanted to go right then and there to Diagon Alley. 

"Then I will pick you up tomorrow morning at eight o'clock so please be ready." We both nodded knowing it wouldn't be good to make her wait for us when she probably has plans of her own. So shortly after she left we went to bed or tried to which had me smiling since we had never been this excited about something. We were up and ready for her about six the next day and were waiting for her to show up. When she did we practically ran out the door after McGonagall talked to Petunia, it was nice to be able to get out of the house. Since normally we wouldn't be able to go anywhere especially when everyone else left. We stood around outside enjoying the warm sun before she walked out smiling. "Alright Harry, Serena were going to use magic to get to our destination called apparition, you'll need to hold onto me tightly and you might want to close your eyes." 

We nodded before grabbing her arms before we took off but it felt like something was pulling at me making my stomach do flips. As well as stopping my breath for a minute then when it all stopped I sighed before opening my eyes. I looked around amazed as we saw witches and wizards shopping all around us with there children. Then we left to and headed to a huge building that looked like it was about to fall over with a small plaque out front.

Enter, stranger, but take heed

Of what awaits the sin of greed, 

For those who take, but do not earn, 

Must pay most dearly in their turn.

So if you seek beneath our floors

A treasure that was never yours,

Thief, you have been warned, beware 

Of finding more than treasure there.

I scooted closer to McGonagall when I saw the little people since I knew they were goblins but in the book they were mean. However it seemed that contrary to what I had read they weren't as bad as I'd thought, they were just doing there job. We approached a counter with one of them behind it after McGonagall had explained what creature they were mostly to Harry. "The Potter's would like to visit their vault." I looked up at professor McGonagall wondering just how much there was in our vault since in the books there was mountains of coins. McGonagall had only said that when it was our turn at the counter since it was proper manners. She then pulled out a key from within her robes making me smile but I froze slightly when I saw her pull out a letter. I already knew that it was about the sorcerers stone which would be our adventure this year at Hogwarts which had me sighing. 

"And I have a letter here from Professor Dumbledore regarding the contents of vault seven hundred and thirteen." The goblin closely inspected the key before moving onto the letter in front of him which had me nervous. "I will have someone take you down to both vaults. Griphook!" Another goblin approached us and once McGonagall placed our key back in her pocket she started towards one of the doors leading off the hall. "Thank you." I said bowing to him slightly before running to catch up with the others, we road a trolley all the way down to our vault. When Griphook open the vault door we stood there speechless since on the other side of the door was mountains of coins. From what McGonagall said the gold coins were Galleons, the silver ones were Sickles, and the bronze ones were Knuts. We were given a bag that we filled up with coins so we could buy our school stuff with. I grabbed a little extra just in case before we left the bank known as Gringotts which I thought was cool. 

"Madam Malkin will be our first stop for both of you." We nodded before we headed out to a huge shop with the name onto of it which McGonagall just walked into. We followed after looking around the shop, I saw a bunch of clothes hanging up and was about to go over to them when a young women walked over. "Hogwarts dears?" We nodded and were told to stand up on these platforms but in separate places I guess they separate boys and girls. I got done before Harry did so I went looking at the other clothes they had, I even grabbed a basket. I started going through everything while putting into the basket the things I wanted for the both of us. I saw Harry talking to a cute boy with platinum blonde hair and striking blue eyes however it seemed he didn't like me to much which had me confused. Once I was done I headed over to Harry smiling up at him just as the other boy got finished, he mumbled something to me before be left. 

"What was that about??" I said looking up at Harry who just shrugged but I could tell that he was upset about something. However he wouldn't tell me about it which had me a little annoyed so after paying for our stuff I grabbed Harry by his sleeve. "Harry what's wrong? Don't you dare tell me its nothing I can feel that something's wrong." He just smiled at me sighing since I've always been able to tell about these things even if I didn't enter their minds. Which I only recently found out I could do, so I needed to train it which I have no idea how. He told me about the boy, Draco Malfoy, as well as what he had said to him which upset me since he seemed like a nice young boy. We both kept talking about it as we met up with Hagrid infront of a shop called Fortescue's which by what he was holding I knew it was an ice-cream shop. He handed us each a cone filled with ice-cream but when I licked mine I noticed it was blueberry ice-cream with chocolate chips and chocolate swirls on top.

"Thanks Hagrid! I haven't had real ice-cream in a long while." He just smiled at me before we practically dug into our ice-cream while they decided on our course of action. They decided that since there was so much to do that we would split up to look around which had me a little worried "Professor McGonagall if we finish early can I go look around Flourish and Botts to see if there are any other books I would like??" She smiled down at me before nodding which had me smiling as we split up to get our supplies. I was really excited as we entered the Potions shop to get what Harry and I would need for the class. While looking around at all the nifty stuff I bumped into someone who reached out to try and grab me. However all those years of abuse under Vernon's care made me flinch and pull away from him so I wound up hitting the floor.

"Are you alright?" I looked up at the man to see that he had both black hair and eyes while wearing black robes. "I'm alright sir, I'm sorry for bumping into you..." It was weird though one minute I can hear everything then the next second I can't hear anything which had me confused as I looked up at the guy. "Its alright I accept your apology, are you alright?" I looked at him confused but knew I shouldn't tell this part of me to people easily so I didn't know what to say. "You shouldn't be here alone." I was about to tell him that I wasn't alone when Professor McGonagall showed up and started talking to the guy I now know as Professor Snape. 

I felt my mind reach out to him not knowing before I hit something hard which surprised me as well as him. I still flinched when he tried to reach out to me since images of Vernon and Petunia hitting me started flashing in my mind. I missed it when he said something to McGonagall before we headed out to get my wand where we met up with Harry and Hagrid. Professor Snape had come with us mainly because he wanted to talk to McGonagall about something so they comprised to talk as we walked. When we got there we went through and into an old looking room that was bigger than what the outside portrayed.

I looked around amazed the place was really cool and I couldn't wait to see what our wands would be like since this would be a first for us. Harry called out to Ollivander who I knew would pop out from aisle closest the wall on our left hand side. He seemed happy to see us before he started talking about how our parents were just in there yesterday... or that's what it felt like to him. I was just happy to be there, Ollivander started measuring Harry for his wand which had me happy but also to laugh when it tried to measure his nose. 

Then he had Harry try a bunch of wands but none seemed to work... until Ollivander handed him one he thought would be interesting. His wand was made with Holy and a Phoenix feather, 11 inches, supple it seemed to glow in his hands. I smiled at him already knowing how cool it must be but also how frustrating it will be since his is made from the same Phoenix as Voldemort's. Then it was my turn to step up to get my wand which I was extremely nervous about since I didn't know if a person whose crossed dimensions can get a wand. He started handing me wand after wand with no avail... and I was starting to get super worried about it until a box practically flew at me. Professor Snape caught it just before it hit me which had me looking at him really scared and thankful.

"Mr. Ollivander, I suggest you make your boxes so they don't fly at our students." He said before he carefully handed me the box, so I took out the wand... then the most amazing thing happened. Everything seemed to straighten out, there was no more dust, anywhere not even on us, anything broken mended itself, while fireworks shot out of my wand. "Very interesting little one, we can expect powerful things from you... that wand is made from Acacia wood, but this wand is special it's made by combing two cores; a horned serpent horn and dragon heartstrings, and its 11 inches. Just promise to use it wisely my dear." I nodded shocked by all this but happy that I got my wand so we paid for them before we left. Professor Snape asked us if we knew how to whip out our wands from our robes but we had no idea what he was talking about.

He left for a moment before returning with two boxes one was red while the other was black, he gave the black one to McGonagall while he motioned for me to give him my arm. So I carefully held it out scared hoping it didn't hurt which I was thankful that it didn't, then he showed me how to whip it out and put it back. I thanked him for his help before we headed for the bookstore again which had me smiling as I practically ran inside looking at all the books. I saw a few that I loved like Alchemy, Care of Magical Creatures and Potions books and a few others before we finally headed home with me dying to open my books and start reading. We also went to Eeylops Owl Emporium to get our owls but I was drawn to two animals in particular... a black and silver kneazel, from what McGonagall said, and a black and silver owl. The people there said that it was rare for two different species to be born alike and they both seemed to love me. So I wound up buying both while Harry bought a snowy white owl which was beautiful we also got everything we needed to care for our newfound pets.

I spent most of the night reading my books but I jumped when a black owl tapped at our window so I got up and opened it for the little guy. I took the small box with my name on it which had me curious so I immediately opened the box using the moonlight only to gasp at what was inside. There were small bottles with a note in the box making me smile as I pulled it out and opened it.

"Dear miss Potter, I happened to see the bruises on you when I placed on your wand holder to your arm these bottles will help take down some of the swelling and help heal them faster... Professor Snape" It went on to tell me how much to swallow each time which had me smiling. "Wait here for a minute little guy and I'll get you a reply." It seemed to understand as I quickly wrote out a reply to his kind gift and telling him that I couldn't wait for his potions class since it seemed really interesting from what I've read. Then I tied the letter to the owl before it took off out the window, I watched it for a little while before closing the window.
