37 The Golden Trio Meets

I take in the mess of candy wrappers scattered across the compartment and give Harry a disapproving look while Hermione asks if they've seen the missing toad. Oh, apparently his name is Neville.

Harry looks a bit sheepish at the mess, but entirely unapologetic. Which I can understand. We only got candy after meeting Clarity, afterall. Still though, I think he went a bit crazy with the amount.

When Hermione and I passed by the candy cart we simply got a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans that we shared. Some were good, others were nasty, and a few we couldn't figure out what the flavors were. One that I'd gotten had tasted green is the only way I could describe it, and boy was it nasty.

Anyway, the ginger boy with Harry says they haven't seen the toad. But now Hermione seems interested in whatever magic he seemed to be about to perform. At her prompting, he does it.

"Sunshine daisies, butter mellow, turn this stupid fat rat yellow." He flicks his wand at the rat, who has its head stuck in a candy box. There's a flash of light inside the box and it pops off of it. He shoots a helpless look at Harry and shrugs his shoulders, which Harry returns.

Hermione and I speak at the same time.

"Are you sure that's a real spell?" She chuckles.

"Are you sure that's a real rat?" I question.

My question gets a confused look from the trio, and even the rat in question looks at me. In response I shrug my shoulders. "There are people who can transform into animals, called animagus. So either the spell is fake or the rat is. So one of us is right."

The boy just gives me a weird look, Harry is looking at the rat with a confused expression, and Hermione is giving me a surprised look.

"Really? Where did you learn that? I've read all of the first year materials and didn't see it mentioned anywhere!"

Ignoring the cough of 'nerd' from the boy, I answer. "Of course you wouldn't, I was interested in transfiguration so I read ahead on the subject. It's a third year thing."

Honestly, who wouldn't be interested in transforming things into other things? I didn't even consider it before that. The things I can do…

"Your evil is showing again."

"Whoops." I rub the hem of my robe against my lips at Harry's prompting, clearing it away.

"Anyways," Hermione says, ignoring the interaction, "if that's even a real spell, it's not very good. I've tried a few simple ones and they've all worked for me." At her boasting she draws her wand from her sleeve and plops herself across from Harry.

She sticks her wand in his face. "For example, Oculus Reparo." The tape holding the two sides of Harry's glasses together unravels and vanishes with a burst of smoke.

The boy looks mildly impressed at the display, as much as he can with a chocolate frog butt sticking out of his mouth.

Meanwhile Harry and I have the same thought. ""Why didn't I think of that?"

He takes off his glasses to examine them and exchanges glances with the boy, who shrugs. In the process Hermione sees the scar on his forehead.

"Holy cricket, you're Harry Potter! I'm Hermione Granger." She looks judgmentally at the boy, a grimace crossing her face. "And you are?"

He speaks around a mouthful of chocolate, "I'm, Ron Weasley."

"And I'm Misha Potter, the chaotic twin."

Hermione and the now named Ron look at me in surprise while I smirk at Harry. "How's it feel being famous, oh great and powerful Mr. Potter?"

He rolls his eyes at my teasing. "Shod off it, you know very well it's not like that."

"Wait," Ron says, "you have a sister? And a twin at that!?" At Harry's nod, he explodes (figuratively). "How!? Everyone knows that you're the one who defeated You Know Who! So why don't they know about her!?" He throws both arms in my direction.

I answer in Harry's stead. "Who?"

"Huh?" He gives me a confused look.

"I don't know who, so can you tell me who You Know Who is?"

I looks at me blankly for a moment, processing my question. Then he flushes ever so subtly. "He's… You Know Who! He Who Must Not Be Named! The one killed by The Boy Who Lived!" He flails his arms helplessly before ending with a gesture at Harry.

I press my hand against my mouth in shock, tears at the corners of my eyes. "My twin is a murderer!? How could you!?" I rush out of the compartment with tears in my eyes, ignoring Ron's confusion. Hermione just rolls her eyes at my performance, already used to my antics after our journey through the hallway.

The last thing I hear is Harry telling Ron something. "You get used to it."

Wandering the halls alone now, I return to my compartment, chuckling all the while. 'Really though, who is this mysterious 'You Know Who' everyone seems to know? All we were able to find out is that he was some kind of evil wizard.'

Dismissing the question for the moment, I simply take my seat and relax for the rest of the train ride. Though I do think about what I saw, or rather felt.

Everyone else that I encountered seems to have the same kind of magic stuck to them that tried to attach itself to me back when we first left the station. It doesn't seem to do anything though, other than having some kind of alarm function. I couldn't find what triggers it though, so I left it alone.

If I thought it was dangerous in any way though, I definitely would have removed it from Harry and Hermione. I don't know Ron that well so I would have left it on him though. Not any of my business if some random guy is put in danger by someone else.

After a while the train starts slowing down and I look out the window. Outside I see some hedges a little taller than the window. Not going to learn much from that.

The letter said that we would be leaving our belongings on the train, including pets. Apparently they'll be taken to our rooms after we get our Houses. I make sure that Arianna is ok then depart.

Outside I see the familiar form of Hagrid shouting for everyone to follow him. Harry and Ron approach him, and even with his back turned I can tell that Ron is impressed by his size. They say a few words to each other then Hagrid tells us to follow him to some boats.

'How curious.' I wonder what the school is going to look like, if we need boats to get to it. There's only four to a boat, but since Hagrid counts as two people due to his size he's only riding with Harry and Ron. I, meanwhile, spot someone I haven't seen for a while.

I sneak up behind them and throw my arm around their shoulder while the two boys next to them look at me with dropped jaws.

"Fancy seeing you here, Draco."
