Chapter 28 The Quidditch Match

In fact, from reading novels in a previous life, Ryan had thought that wizards might be self masochistic. Because their Quidditch matches start every year between Halloween and Christmas, which is between November and December.

Imagine a group of spectators standing on a raised platform blowing wind in the cold winter winds of the Scottish Highlands. The players, on the other hand, have to work harder, flitting through the air without cover. It's hard work from every Angle.

But none of this was a problem until Len had actually entered the world and discovered that the wizarding enthusiasm for the sport of Quidditch had made it so.

When he arrived at the Quidditch field with the rest of the group, he found that almost the whole school was in the stands around the Quidditch Field. Many of the students had brought binoculars.

The seats were literally raised into the air, but it was still difficult to see the game at times.

Ryan and a large group of first-years came together to the top row. To cheer up their classmate, Harry, they set to work on a magical banner that said Potter will win, alongside an animated picture of a lion chasing a snake.

Madam Hooch acted as judge. She was standing in the middle of the pitch, her broomstick in her hand, waiting for both teams.

When the players from both sides emerged from the locker room and walked onto the back of the field. Madam Hooch said to the players, "Look, I want us all to play fairly and honestly."

Then Seamus told them, "MadamHooch's just warning the Slytherins about their dirty style of play.

Especially to their captain, Marcus Flint. Under his leadership, Slytherin sometimes take the initiative to play dirty tricks."

'There seems to be a few people everywhere who don't observe the slightest bit of sportsmanship.'

Ryan sent out his comments. Hermione, Seamus, and several of the other Muggle-world boys around them all nodded in agreement.

'Broomsticks, everyone, please,' said Hermione.

Everyone on their brooms.

Madam Hooch blew her silver whistle hard.

Fifteen broomsticks rose high into the sky. The game began.

'The Quaffle was immediately dismissed by Angelina Gryffindor. Johnson's got it -- what a chaser that girl is, and very attractive too -- '

'Jordan!

"I'm sorry, Professor."

Ryan thought that the most interesting thing about the Quidditch match at Hogwarts, apart from the wonderful performances of the players, was Lee Jordan's commentary. Not only was he able to tell what was going on quickly and accurately, but he also made the commentary lively with all the gags that were thrown into it.

Of course, because of the tendentious and sometimes emotional nature of his commentary, Lee Jordan now narrated under the close watch of Professor McGonagall.

'She's a real gallop up there, a lovely pass to Alicia? Spinnet, she's Oliver? Wood's eye for talent, a substitute last year - the ball was passed to Johnson again, and then - hell, Slytherin had snatched the Quaffle, and Slytherin's captain, Marcus? Flint got the Quaffle and galloped off -- Flint was flying like an eagle over it -- he was going to score -- no, Wood, the Gryffindor keeper, made a brilliant move, broke it off, and now Gryffindor had the ball -- that was Gryffindor Chaser Katie Weasley. Bell, high above the pitch, darting nimbly around Flint - ouch - that must have hurt - hit on the back of the head by a Bludger - the Quaffle snapped by Slytherin - that was Derian? Pusey darted towards the goalposts, but he was brought down by another Bludger - a Bludger that had been hit by either Fred or George? Weasley pushed aside, the twins were really hard to tell apart -- well done by the Gryffindor beater, Johnson had recaptured the Quaffle, there was no resistance ahead, she was flying as fast as she could -- dodging a Bludger -- the goal posts were in front of her -- come on, OK, Angelina -- Wicketkeeper Blackie swooping over -- missed -- Gryffindor score! '

Gryffindor cheers echoed through the cold sky, punctuated by the Slytherins' growls and curses.

Harry circled back and forth, not looking as though he had spotted the Snitch.

'Slytherin have the ball,' said Lee. 'said Jordan.' Chaser Puss ducked past the Bludgers, ducked past the Weasleys and Chaser Belle, and ran towards - wait a minute - Is that a Snitch? '

Derian? There was a murmur from the crowd as Pusey, too busy looking over his shoulder at a streak of gold passing by his left ear, missed the Quaffle.

Harry, too, seemed to have seen the Snitch, swooping down in pursuit of the golden stream.

Terence Weasley, the Slytherin seeker, had been looking for the Snitch. Heathers saw it, too. They galloped side by side toward the Snitch -- the chasers seemed to have forgotten what they were supposed to do, and one by one they hung in the air, watching.

Harry was going faster than Higgins -- he looked like he was going to catch the Snitch --

Boom! There was a roar of rage from the Gryffindors below -- Marcus? Flint rammed Harry deliberately, and Harry's broomstick swerved sharply, but Harry held on for dear life.

"Foul!" said Harry. 'shouted the Gryffindors.

Ryan roared along in the cold wind, as though he were beginning to understand the sport's charms.

The game went on and things looked good for Gryffindor, who had possession all the time.

All of a sudden, Harry started Brownian in the air. Ryan, who had been watching Harry, was the first to spot it.

Ryan aimed his binoculars at Harry and saw that he was looking very nervous. His broom seemed to be out of control by now.

Hermione saw that Ryan had raised his binoculars and was looking serious, too, towards where he was staring. By this time, Harry had begun to drift away from the field, and some of the students had noticed something was wrong.

'What's going on? Have you just smashed your broom? ' 'said Hermione nervously.

"Probably not, Nimbus Two Thousand couldn't have been damaged by a couple of collisions, most likely someone was using black magic to interfere with the broom, and given Nimbus Two Thousand's ability to resist interference, Jammers should be quite skilled in black magic, which is not something the average student would be able to do." 'replied Lane.

'Look, Snape.' Hermione patted Ryan on the arm. 'Look at him staring at Harry and reciting.'

While Ryan raised his binoculars and said, "Look behind him, Quirrell's staring up at the sky doing the same spell."

'What? Hermione looked carefully in Quirrell's direction. 'So what now?'

'Follow me,' said Hermione. Ryan led Hermione slowly toward the staff table.

More than a minute later, they reached the back of the staff table and, as had been agreed on the way, both set fire to Snape's and Quirrell's robes at the same time as Ryan gave them a thumbs-up.

Within a dozen seconds there was chaos on the staff table, and the two men took the opportunity to return to their seats.
