A Certain Path to Victory

We continued forward then stopped hearing some screeching. We looked around seeing some harpies flying around. They were all quickly flying around us. They sent bolts of lightning at us, but we dodged them swiftly and I took the time to scan the monsters.

Name: Storm Harpy

"These Storm Harpies are pretty fast. They have an agility stat of 300. Be careful of their lightning wing attack. Because they are so fast, they can hit you multiple times and deal swift damage to you." I explained and summoned my sword then my armor appeared on my body. I looked at Setsuna and noticed her staring off into space.

A harpy flew straight to Setsuna and I rushed to her aid then blocked the harpy's attack. The harpy kicked off my shield then flew backwards. Setsuna looked at me and at the harpies flying around. She looked a bit surprised and summoned her Grimoire. I sighed and relieved that she figured out where we were.

"Sorry...I was distracted again." Setsuna said softly.

"It's fine...Just concentrate. We can get through this quickly." I said then got in my stance.

Setsuna looked at me then at the harpies. She opened her grimoire and the pages began to flip quickly. She began chanting softly and her magic aura surrounded her body then she opened her eyes. "Arcane Blast!" She bellowed and summoned a magic circle, releasing a powerful blast of Earth and Lightning magic at some of the harpies.

Dreva dodged the attacks of the harpies then raised her arms, making the trees grab upon the harpies and ripping them apart. The harpies screeched as they were ripped apart then dispersed into magic particles. An evolved version of a harpy rushed into battle and screeched loudly then a powerful bolt of lightning struck Dreva and an explosion happened. Dreva screamed in pain as she was blown away. Shelly caught Dreva and slid backwards.

I scanned the new monster that appeared.

"Charge forward. Make it rain." A voice said then the Stormwing screeched and rushed forward into battle then spun around in the air then thunder boomed and lightning crashed down. It began to rain and the Field Effect was activated once again.

"There is a Summoner in the area!" Yuki warned.

I scanned the area to find the Summoner and sensed an attack coming from the left of me then dodged the attack and slashed at the person, sending a cutting wave at them. The man blocked the cutting wave and rushed towards me without hesitation. He went for powerful strikes, but I used my shield to block the attacks then parried his final attack and went for an attack, hitting him with my sword and the cutting wave. He groaned as he was being pushed backwards by the cutting wave. I twirled my sword in a circle and looked at the man scanning him.

The man had long yellow hair and red eyes. He had on a white and blue top, gray pants, and black knee high boots. He had blue lightning crackling around his arms and legs. He smirked at me and crossed his arms.

"You summoned these Harpies and the Stormwing didn't you?" I asked and glared at Blitz.

"Yes, I will not allow you to proceed any further. This is where your journey ends!" Blitz said then got in his battle stance.

I looked at Blitz then noticed the harpies and Stormwing swarming my friends. I looked back at Blitz and got in my battle stance. He hopped up and down then vanished in lightning speeds. He appeared in front of me and caught me off guard with his speed then hit me with his Lightning God Strike and combo'd into the Thunderous Break, lowering my defense stat. I activated my second Weapon Skill.

Weapon Skill 2: Truthseeker

Description: Enables the user to predict the target's next move perfectly and auto dodge all attacks for one minute. This weapon skill has a cool down of five minutes after the one minute runs out.

"Hm..?" Blitz looked at me and noticed my smirk. "What's so funny now..?"

"One minute is all I need to beat you." I said then used a potion on myself restoring my HP back to full.

"HA! Don't get cocky...I'll just do as my name says and blitz the hell out of you!" Blitz bellowed and lightning surged around his body. He dashed at me at lightning speeds and went for a strike.

I looked at Blitz then noticed him going for a Lightning Crux. My eyes shined and I dodged his attack with easy. He looked surprised then I hit him with my shield then slashed at him five times. He groaned as he was hit with all five slices and cutting waves. Blitz was blown away and he landed on his feet. I dashed after him and bellowed. I predicted him going for his Storm Counter, so I feinted my attack then after he went for it and it failed, I slashed in a circle. I hit him and combo'd into my Full Death Striker. I slashed at him six times then blasted him away with a beam of the dark element.

Blitz groaned as he slid backwards and panted. "How does he know my every move..?! Is he able to hack into the system commands?!"

"No. It is simply my weapon skill. Specifically the second one called Truthseeker. It allows me to predict your every move perfectly before you do it. I only have 15 seconds of this boost left so I'll make it quick!" I said then changed my Element to Earth. I dashed towards Blitz and my eyes shined. "Burst Skill: Supreme Gaia's Ruin!"

I struck Blitz quickly 14 times then went for the fatal blow, but he was warped away by the Masked Figure. I looked at him then glared. The masked figure looked at me and adjusted his mask then turned away.

"You are needed elsewhere, Blitz. You are needed alive. We already lost Yoshimune to Shin...We don't need to lose another.." The masked figure said then snapped his fingers and more monsters were summoned in the area. "Let them deal with these monsters...The Goddess of Justice requires your assistance."

Blitz looked at the masked figure and at me then smirked. "We will have our rematch soon, Shin and I will come out on top...Bet your ass I will."

I watched Blitz and the masked figure warped away and left us with the wave of monsters. I looked at the waves of Harpies and Stormwings. I walked forward and looked at my tired allies.

"There are too many...We can't take them all on..." Dreva panted and fell to her knees.

"No matter how many times I use Burning Guard...they keep healing up. There is a unit healing these hordes of monsters, but I don't know where the unit is." Shelly panted and looked at the horde of monsters flying in the sky.

I activated my Overdrive Gauge and my aura surged powerfully. "Overdrive Art: Legendary Virtue!" I bellowed and transformed into my Virtuous Form. My eyes shined gold and angels wings emerged from my back. I looked at the horde of monsters and activated all 10 of my Weapons Skills.

Weapon Skill 3: Prevailing Hope

Description: Heals all allies regardless of range on the battlefield by 10% per second. Reduces damage to 1 for 10 minutes and negates all status ailments.

Weapon Skill 4: Punishing Justice

Description: When taking damage, lock the opponent's skills for 30s and return double the damage taken when using a skill.

Weapon Skill 5: Loving Guidance

Description: Adds boost of elemental damage against all enemies by 50% to all allies, Boosts all parameters by 100% for all allies.

Weapon Skill 7: Heavenly Burst

Description: Constantly fills all allies' Burst Gauge by 2% per second and boosts all Burst Skills power by 200%, All Burst Skills have the added effect of ignoring opponent's defense.

Weapon Skill 8: Shining Devotion

Description: Boosts parameters for self by 200% if any Starter Unit, Goddess, Cuara, Una, or Bravulla is in the party.

Weapon Skill 9: Absolute Path to Victory

Description: When HP is below 50%, boost all parameters for self by 60% and 90% chance to survive on 1 HP until battle ends or Weapon Skill is deactivated.

Weapon Skill 10: Worldly Summoner

Description: When using Worldly Iridescence, fill OD Gauge by 1% per second the move is active. Boosts Final Burst Skill's power by 200%.

"This power...It has been a while since I last felt such empowerment..." I said to myself and looked at the harpies and Stormwings. I gripped my sword in my hands then exhaled. "Burst Skill EX: Divine Culmination!"

I slashed down and a white line of energy hit the harpies and Stormwings then a massive explosion happened, shaking the ground. The harpies and Stormwings all healed despite me using my Burst Skill EX. I heard a scream and looked down to see a woman looking at me terrified. I scanned her.

"There you are. You're the one healing them...once you're dead, victory is assured!" I flew to Storm and bellowed.

She panicked and shot a powerful bolt of lightning at me, hitting me. I only took 1 damage, but my fourth Weapon Skill activated and locked all of Storm's skills. She looked surprised and stumbled backwards. She looked at me and her eyes widened. My eyes shined and I slashed through Storm and landed on the ground. I twirled my sword and sheathed it then Storm was sliced in half and dispersed into magic particles.

Yuki and the others noticed the other harpies and Stormwings disappearing after Storm was taken down. They looked at me and looked surprised to see me in my Virtuous Form. I reverted to my normal form then looked at them and smiled.

"We can continue forward now. Blitz is gone so we don't have to worry too much about him summoning more monsters in the area." I said and nodded.

Setsuna looked at me and blushed slightly. She was taken aback by me and my abilities. She looked at the others then looked back at me. Everyone followed me to the next area of the marshlands.
