That time I tamed a demon

The demon's confused and curious expression, baffled by the fact that I thoroughly ignored the pressure it released transformed into a wide grin.

The demon pointed its index finger to my direction, a massive amount of demonic energy was sent to me.

"Demonic cannon…"

The demon mumbled, probably the name of the attack.

However…

The dust settled revealing my unharmed figure surrounded by a barrier that did not even have a scratch on it.

The demon looks at me wide-eyed unable to believe its own eyes.

'When did he chant? No, when did he erect a barrier?'

"That was compelling for a chant-less magic…"

"But…hey, that's not enough to faze me…"

I spread my arm treating its spell as if nothing, provoking the demon to show more what it is capable of.

"Could you show me a little bit more of your cute spells…"

I can see a vein pop on the head of the demon after what I said followed by massive amounts of pure demonic energy being concentrated in a single point.

"Dark ray…"

Breaking the sound barrier a beam of pure demonic energy was shot towards me.

Swoosh…

'What is this incomprehensible barrier?'

Thought the demon seeing my completely fine state as all of it's attack we're being absorbed by the barrier converting and redistributing the energy absorbed to strengthen the barrier farther.

[[Mystic Void Barrier]]

The barrier is made out from layers after layers of vortexes that absorb energy and redistribute the absorbed energy to strengthen the barrier.

A almost perfect anti-magic barrier.

The only way to bypass the barriers defenses is to either use pure physical attack or send a one time overwhelming energy type attack that has enough power to instantly overload the barrier to its limit before it could redistribute the absorbed energy.

But the demon before me did not know this as it continues to attack me with [Dark ray] and [Demonic cannon] trying to gauge the limit of my barrier.

"He is not even flinching. Just what is that barrier made of?"

'What is this feeling, it feels like I'm being tested.'

The demon thought in realization but instead of getting angered it's already diminishing grin returned.

It's just a simple concentrated magic and a beam of magic.

I pressure.

The only difference is that this [Dark ray] and [Demonic cannon] are made of pure demonic energy granting it additional effects such as [Corrosive], [Corruption] and [Magic Poison] attributes.

I see, interesting…

This proves my theory about racial advantage and superiority in terms of everyone's starting point.

A basic magic spell made from concentrated magic and magical beam wouldn't be this destructive and deadly in the hands of a human or a demi human but to the hands of a demon and probably other higher species it's no better than an advance tier magic.

"Come on this isn't all you got, right?"

The demon gritted its teeth having its pride shattered.

Ten magic circles began to manifest like bangs circling the greater demon.

Oh ho. How fascinating, it can even do something similar to parallel casting.

"Nuclear magic: demonic nuclear cannon ×10."

Ten beams of complete darkness each one 100 times more powerful than the [Demonic cannon] was sent towards my direction and with a loud explosion that has enough power to completely erase an entire city the demon waited in bated breath.

The dust settles revealing my unharmed figure and a crack can be seen on the barrier.

The demon staring intensely at the crack on the barrier seems to have lost it's soul due to shocked as it stopped attacking me and just stood there like a broken puppet.

A second later the crack was nowhere to be seen.

Interesting…

For a mere greater demon, this one sure is exceptional.

To be able to unleash nuclear magic and apply something similar to parallel casting on it is not easy at all.

The amount of control and mental focus needed to achieve such a feat is astronomically big.

With sparkling eyes and new interest I waited for the greater demon to snap out and returned to reality.

Seeing the wide grin on my face the greater demon felt an awful premonition.

"How about showing me your defensive magic now."

I said, appearing just before the greater demon's back using [Void Step] surprising it.

I could even hear it letting out a girlish scream.

The demon tried to stop me but was late as I already unleashed my magic.

Boom

A massive explosion reminiscence to that of a super nova erupting erasing almost everything in sight and if it wasn't for my timely barriers protecting the surroundings and stuff around me, everything would have been completely erase leaving nothing behind.

Thankfully, I reacted fast, erecting a barrier at the very last second before the spell exploded.

Still, a large portion of the surroundings and stuff were erased which I need to fix later.

Whoosh…

The magic dust settled revealing the beaten up figure of the demon who was sweating profusely.

'What's with that attack I can feel my very existence was almost erase.'

The greater demon thought in terror imagining his outcome if it wasn't for the timely barrier protecting it.

"Eh, are you alright?"

I said as I slowly descended from my levitated position.

"Why didn't you guard my attack?"

I asked the demon.

"If I did not erect a barrier around you at the last moment, your existence might have been erased you know."

"Eh, are you ok…"

I can see the demon look blankly up top where I was once.

I might have overdone it again.

I lean down waving my hand on its face trying to help it snap out from its stupor.

"Yo ho… you still with me?"

Snapping back to reality and seeing me the demon immediately bow before me.

"You have my deepest apologies for the inconvenience I have caused you oh great one…"

I can see an ever so familiar fanatic gaze from those blazing eyes.

"Oh no. Here we go again…"
