Taking Back My Life
Akarana POV:
It had been six long months since i returned home. six long months of therapy with a counselor, six long months in picking up my life and my son Adam. Adam had started slowly coming out of his shell, he has eased himself in to the new school and is also doing some counseling to help him too. The extent of the abuse i suffered at the hands of Kane has made me more determine to take back everything he destroyed in me. Working in the restaurant is great, it made me appreciate that not all men are like Kane especially mentally, where they will talk with me every few hours to check up on me throughout my day while at the office to remind me of small things that they had assigned me or would like me to check over, whenever speaking with a client or a worker one brother is always present or both brothers excluding me.
Every sunday we arrive at one of our chains and discuss our family matters, any issues with said location and how to improve. Adam has started to warm up to his uncles and grandparents. Which means he is healing too, every thursday afternoon i will spend quality time with Adam and see what is happening with him. My boy seems happier, he does boxing at the moment and has yet to fully understand it. He studies hard and also is learning to move through his trauma and build his confidence back up. He has become more out going in the last few days especially with one of my brothers or my parents, he jokes, he laughs, he smiles and will help anyone if you just ask. I placed my son down on the sofa in my office as i went through some papers on my desk, at times when I am in my office my door is always locked from the insides and only my family are aware of this. My office is decked out on all areas, especially surveillance cameras that are seen from my parents house that surveillance the entire company. My father and mother who have retired had set it up before i had Adam, my father has every location surveillance and he can access all cameras or one individual camera at anytime. We have guards who are also are vetted and then put through the regiment with Raniera and Quinn to see if they got what it takes. I suppose with my anxiety my family placed the building under strict protocol for my safety.
Quinn POV:
"He entered the country and is leaving the airport sir," the person on the other side of the phone spoke "Keep your eyes on him, find me his hotel and any other bookings he has, how long is he here and tail him," i rasped through my phone before disconnecting the call and made my way to my floor i share with Raniera and Akarana, walking through Raniera door is an adjoining lounge space that we share, that separates us from the rest of the company. With the determination in mind i spotted my eldest brother first before i rounded the corner and spotted my sister as she held her son lightly. She was always on guard as I noticed she was the first to look in my direction as i strolled in, "I'm hungry," Akarana spoke as she eyed the bag in my hand, walking towards her i placed the bag in front of her, i had gotten something to eat when i recieved the phone call, looking over at my brother i knew we needed to tell her but i didn't want to scare her but we needed her to be aware. "Raniera we have a problem, we have an invader in the country," I said grabbing my meal out of the bag, "When did the invader enter the country?," he ask giving me his full attention, "3 hours ago, I've got someone following it," I spoke as i tucked into my meal while looking at my older brother who was calculating what i had just said, "Yes oh fuck wit came here" His eyes sparkled when he raised his head, i smiled at my oldest brother it just got interesting.
"What are you talking about, why are you being secretive," Akarana piped up as she took in our expressions. As I stared at my oldest brother he nodded as he pulled out his phone while i turned towards our only sister, " We have something to do, I need you to get a waiver of parental rights for dickhead," i said as i cleaned up our rubbish and cleaned our lounge, "Drop us off home," Akarana said as she rose, to retrieve her things as i scooped up my nephew who was sound a sleep. My mother was the first person to open the door for us as we all entered, "Kai is nearly ready," she spoke as we entered, with her heading back to the kitchen, i walked my nephew to his room, lying him on his bed, before heading to the family study where my brother will be waiting, as i entered my father was in there too, "The invader landed in the country today," Raniera turned towards our father quickly letting him in, "How long is he here?," my father asked, pulling out my phone i received the file an hour after knowing he was here "He is he for 5 days, his accommodation is in Hamilton, he is here on business, entered with an associate and is here to meet with the local black power at their annual convention that will be in town for that week. His associate is Geoff Roberts, family associated with the Roberts family in Tauranga, who operate the commercial fishing trade down there and will be in attendance with the convention that week too." i spoke from the file my brother was taking notes while my father added his suggestions as well. We had twenty four hours, five us males and a quick exit strategy and our brainstorming then my mother called us for dinner, as we were all seated at the table when the intercom from the gate buzzed, raniera phone rang, his eye lit up as he stood and walked out of the dinning room, i stood as well and followed him out as the rest of the family carried on eating. The figure that came in the door was none other then Noah Lucas, who six ft six frame matched Raniera height and build, whereas Noah is light bronze skin, blonde rustic hair and a pretty smile. His mother and our mother have been bestfriend since they were little girls and had lived next door for as long as i can remember.
Akarana POV:
Dinner has always been my favourite time of the day as i get to sit and catch up with my family, my parents always question us on our day every dinner, when my brothers walked back in with an extra person, without lifting my head i continued to eat when my mother spoke up "Hello Noah, what brings you here so late" my mother asked as i raised my head to look at her, "We have an urgent business meeting that requires his presence," Raniera spoke which had me turned to look at my eldest brother with a calm look knowing hes up to something and so is this one i then turned my gaze to meet my brother Quinn gaze who had his eyebrows raised, i just shrugged and turned back to eating my food when i felt a penetrating stare, slowly finding the source i looked into the piercing green eyes of Noah Lucas, who sat exactly across from me, no wonder i only encountered my brothers "Hello Akarana," his voice always sounded the same when he said my whole name, "Noah," i acknowledged as i leant back in my chair and looked at my son who had fallen asleep on the table, "Sebastian, can you take him to bed, please," i asked my brother as he was beside Adam who was softly sleeping, my brother slid his arms under my son and lifted him gently to his chest, then strode from the room, with lucas in tow as they both won't be back. "Is he your son, Akarana?," Noah asked as he stared at me "Yes, thats my son Adam, he is five years old," i said with affection for my awesome little boy, "We will be in the study,"Raniera spoke as all three men rose and exited the room. As it was left with me and my parents we had some dessert before retiring to bed.
Lucas dropped Adam off to school, while i went to work, and he will pick adam up after school and bring him to the office. Adding extra furniture in our shared lounge, that will accommodate adam when he is with me in the office, gave me a task to do. All the accounts were on par with eachother, all meeting are schedule for later on and my day was relaxing. The door to our shared lounge opened and in strolled Quinn and Noah while I was casually lounging when a women came in behind them with her eyes trained on me, sipping my coffee i glanced in my brothers direction "Whose your friend," i enquired as i looked her up and down, noting her clothing was neat and respectable, her posture was stiff and alert while her body language was trying to act casual, when my brother walked towards our coffee station "This is Amanda Jones and she has been assigned to protect you,"Raniera spoke as he made three cups of coffee and brought them to the table, "What do you specialise your skill in?," i casually asked her as i returned my gaze to her "I am in the special armed forces, for a rescue operations on civilians, infiltration of neighboring camps and serving third world situations regarding world aide. Since being posted back home, I've slowly moved my career focus where i can remain near family," Amanda answered and I turned to my brother "Is there a reason I need to be even more paranoid?," i asked when Noah spoke "Its a safety precaution that needs to be added," I slowly turned to him and didnt say anything more about her presence, "What do you do Noah?," i said turning my entire focus towards him "I work in secure surveillance for people as well security software for homes," Noah answered, I nodded taking in what he just said "From today onwards like this very moment Akarana, Amanda will be with you at all times when ever you leave the house, dropping off and picking up Adam, on your way to and from work. She will be your main bodyguard while the rest of the team will keep guard at the company and home so that your safety is number one priority," Noah spoke as my brother started producing some documents for me to read before another set where produce to Amanda. It explains the finer details of the job description, which states *That when required all communication device be held on your person at all times, as the main guard if at anytimes you are unavailable, your second in command should then be put in your place until you as the main guard is to return and communication for all services assigned should go through the main guard* reading the contract i was satisfied with it and signed my name at the same time i saw Amanda sign her name.
Noah POV:
I stared at the woman before me and noticed the change in her. She always looks towards one of her brothers when talking, she is more reserved yet on guard at the same time, she doesn't conversate with the employees yet, she sticks to her self and is focused on being a mother to her son, compared to the vivacious girl she was as a child, her demeanor to match her older brothers anyway she could, being able to intimidate other females with just her presence and at times i can see the girl I always knew. The evidence she stacked against her ex made my blood boil to know how he had made her suffer through their relationship, how he nearly destroyed her future, how he could do that to the mother of his child in front of the child is what i will never understand but knowing he is here is what made me amp up security detail to keep safe until we eliminate the threat. Hiding that specific detail from her is so she dont freak out and end up hospitalized so i main defense is to wait for his move before hurting the son of bitch. Monitoring his movements are easy, monitoring his associates movements is what keeps us in the loop since we are waiting for him to do his first deal. "We will be returning back to Wellington for a week to finish off a deal that has been stalling and has taken a lot longer than it should have but you will Amanda and a team that will keep you all safe," Raniera spoke clear to his sister who nodded her head "Okay, im ready to go home," akarana spoke as she stood collecting her bag and followed us out.
Akarana pov:
Entering home i made a quick stop in my fathers office with both lucas and sebastian right behind me, "Daddy this is Amanda Jones," i gestured towards amanda "Nice to meet you miss jones, if you would follow rob he will show to your room and then the surveillance room," my father spoke as robert my fathers head bodyguard escorted her out "Should i be worried?," i asked as i sat in a chair opposite my father " Your safety has to be priority," he spoke i understood i just had a feeling I'd have to be very cautious. "You will be monitored with Amanda at your side, Noah is very good at what he does for a living Raana and i expect your full cooperation," my father told me seriously "The convention is in town and i would like you to be careful at all times, this year we will have both sides in town and this will be throughout the city, a lot has changed and i can't stress to you about your safety," my father spoke as his hazel eye locked on mine "Okay i will be careful," i nodded as i sat with my father for the remainder of the evening.
Quinn pov:
"I will contact both heads and ask for a meeting so that we can move forward with our project." i said to Raniera and Noah "ile set it up so that it doesn't clash with the convention dates," raniera spoke as he pulled out his phone, the documentation of the extent my sisters injuries made everything a lot more personal, although Noah is great at his job, we know he is trained in combat and rescue missions which is why we are doing it his way. " The conference call is in 4 hours so it gives us time to return to Auckland," raniera spoke.
Our heritage from my mothers side had a huge impact on us as children. My mothers father was a very rich man and he only had 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl my mother. He put them all through school and all through university, put them to work in his businesses and push them to excel in life. When his children married he put all his in laws through a regiment to see if they fit his criteria, also when he had grandchildren we all got push the same way to and we are apart of the biggest hotel and restaurant chains in the entire country. Although we have different views we are all family, we laugh we joke we even shares some good times. My mothers eldest brother had been running the south island hotel chains and my mothers second eldest brother is running wellington area to tauranga restaurant and tourist attractions, while my mother runs from rotorua to the cape as these had chains that each had favored.
Over the last 15 years my family had infiltrated all the top gang organisations, to join alliance and broadened our family's horizon. Especially since most areas we operate are all well known gang areas and as a result for our family's locations we became partners and have been operating harmoniously for the past 10 years since we are all blood related.
Arriving back in Auckland, we headed straight to the office, making sure we were seated when the call came through.
Black: Hows life at the top?
Quinn: Same shit, different day. Fast bitches trying to catch a ring.
Red: Kei te aha to raruraru korua? Kaua e korero maua kia koe kei te taha maua.
(Whats the problem you two, we havent spoken in years.)
Quinn: We have an invader that we need access too and due to the sensitivity of the issue we needed to communicate with you both.
Black: Okay, what type of invader, is he a brother of ours?
Quinn: No, he is a foreigner and has arrived with an associate to attend the convention.
Red: We have a new venture that we are looking at, so the foreigner will be with us in a few hours. i just want to know why is he so special?
Quinn exchanged a glance at Raniera who nodded and quinn spoke, "He is a threat to my family and since he came here I need acces or a meeting with him.
Its about time the maggot faced what he obviously forgot that we exist," laying it all out on the table as we only have seventy two hours to eliminate the threat", Quinn speaks:" We will work with you on this, as i wouldn't want it to cause a chain reaction within the family, your death threats might get us all killed," Red started laughing "No more then you cousin, that is just naming some," Raniera chuckled
Red: When did she arrive? Will we get to see her?
Black: How come your just telling us now, he would have been dead on arrival.
Quinn: Cause we only just got her back. she was beaten to a pulp, barely recognizable and has a five year old son when she reached out.
Raniera: She isn't the same, she barely made it into the country. She slept for 3 days, took two weeks for her wounds to heal and the bruises.
My nephew is five and barely spoke, he would stay next to her and apply medicine to her, change her dressings and would talk to her until she woke up. he barely left her side and she would cry when he would fall asleep cause she is just so terrified.
Black: I want her to see us. Red and I alone, can you arrange that?
Raniera: Quinn has to be present or else she won't agree, she is paranoid, she is frightened and yet determined.
Quinn: Come too the house when you'd arrive in Auckland. She will talk to you both freely.
Red: We arrive tomorrow arvo and we will go from there.
Raniera: Great we will see you then. Haere ra ngā kaihanga. kia tupato korua.
