Unexpected....

What a Bright day it is! It is sunny and windy! Our neighbour Ms. Ann is tending her plants

"Good Morning Haruko! Off to school? "

"Yes aunt!"

"Good luck on your first day at school! "

"Thanks! "

Such a nice lady. She talks softly and is an expert gardener. She has more than 10 bonsai

trees and more than 30 varieties of flower in her garden. I like spending the evening with her. She would bring tea and biscuits and we'd

talk about flowers and bonsais.

Well, I stopped by the bus stop to look the time and.... OH-MY-GOD!!!!! It's already 8:53 AM!!. "Gotta run else I'll be late on my first day!"

I ran as fast as I could. I reached the cross-road when "Thud-" I crashed into a girl!

"Aow! That hurts!" the girl cried.

She was of the same school as mine. She also came running when blindly the crash happened.

I asked "Are you okay?"

"Uh - Uh- Ouch.... "

I picked up her books which were scattered all around her.

"Here, let me help you get up. And sorry.. "

"It's.... okay...."

The girl was shy.

"By the way my name is Haruko. Haruko Tadashi. "

"My name is Suzie Midaero..."

I was just going to tell her that I'll be late for school when my eyes fell on her bleeding knee.

"Oh! You are bleeding! Let me treat it. "

Thankfully I always carried a First Aid Kit along with me.

I bent to treat her knee. It was white..... White like skies floating around the atmosphere....

I applied antiseptic spray and tied it with bandage.

"There you go! It's okay now! "

"Ummm... by the way I am late... "

Oh sh*t. I forgot about it

"Me too!! Gotta run! "

Suzie was going to run when her knees ached

"Ouch-!! "

"Hey! Don't run else it will bleed more! "

"B-B-But I'm late.. "

"Don't worry. We'll be late together. "

We walked together slowly. She was cute and kind of silent. She was short, shorter than me.

She had blue eyes and her hair was glamorous. We both didn't talk. Then I broke the silence.

"Is it your first day here? "

"Yes. It's my first day and I'm nervous"

"Well, looks like we are on the same side!"

"Means? "

"I'm also new to this school."

"Finally someone who's with me!"

"Where's you hometown Suzie? "

"Akita. Yours?"

"Asahikawa. In Hokkaido. "

Whoa! That's far from me! "

"Yup. In the north. Here, we reached the school. And we're late, it's already 9:05 AM. "

"Yeah. The teacher maybe already in class. We should hurry! "

We hurried to the class and found that the teacher is already in. The teacher saw us and was surprised.

The teacher is tall and is erect, like steel. He had a good posture and wore glasses.

"Sorry sir! We had an accident due to which we are late! " Suzie spoke up.

That teacher is a total jerk.

I told "Sir, I crashed into her when I was coming. She fell and had a injury in the knee. So I treated it. That's when we got late. Sorry!"

"OK, OK, fine. I'll forgive you two as it is your first day. But don't think that I'll not give punishment. You two will be sitting in the....umm.... first bench! Yatake, Sume, clear the bench."

Oh sh*t. This is getting worse. I always hated first bench. And that also with a girl whom I just met!? This is not a pleasant surprise.

"By the way, I'm your teacher Mr. Takeo Urawa.

Introduce yourself to me and the class, starting with the girl."

Suzie stand up and said in a calm voice.

"Hello everyone, I'm Suzie Midaero from Akita. Nice to meet you all! "

The teacher clapped his hands "What a beautiful introduction! Now you boy!"

Oh dear me.

"Hello everyone, I'm Haruko Tadashi. I'm from Asahikawa. Nice to meet you all" I said.

"Not Bad! OK now, let's start our History class. So the first chapter is 'The History Of Kimono and Yukata" So class......."

History class is so boring. All about kings, queens, blah blah blah.... Nothing new.

I looked outside and it's so sunny today. The birds were chirping. Cherry blossoms were about to bloom. There was a cool breeze

blowing by. I suddenly felt sleepy. Then I heard some people talking about the Edo period. Might be nerds. In a few minutes I felt asleep.

When I woke up, The teacher was writing in blackboard. Notes probably. I was woke up by Suzie.

"Hey Haruko, write the notes. "She said

"Not in mood. I'll copy from you. "

"As your wish. Don't blame me when you get scolded "

"Okay. "

The bell rang and it was lunch time. I was hungry. Suddenly I forgot to bring my water bottle. I asked Suzie about the cafeteria.

"Hey Suzie, do you know where's the cafeteria? "

"Maybe in the ground floor, by the gym. Why do you ask? "

"Gotta buy some green tea. You want?"

"Not tea but cold coffee. Here is the money. "

She handed me ¥500.

"Okay!"

I ran down and I didn't needed to go to the cafeteria. The vending machine was near the class. I got the supplies and went back to class.

"Here Suzie! Your cold coffee! "

"Thanks Haruko! Let's have lunch together! "

"Yeah! I'm hungry! What do you have? "

"Egg sandwiches with a tempura shrimp and a

salad. You? "

" Onigiri with Eggs and Sausages. Your lunch looks healthy. "

"Not at all!! I hate salads."

"But I love it. Wanna trade with my sausages? I don't like the taste of it. "

"Sure!! "

We had lunch in complete silence. She ate neatly and calmly. She suddenly choked herself on sandwich and drank some coffee.

She got fine and was eating again.

Suddenly she said "So Haruko, are you free today after school? "

"Yeah. Why? "

"Let's hangout together! That's what friends do after school right? "

A sudden request of Hangout after school!?

Is this girl crazy?
