Mnemosyne

_14_ (Crystal Chelsea Lim's Point of View)

When we arrived at the Mansion, I asked a butler to help me bring Jess and Irene to their rooms.

I helped Jess clean up after the butler left. I changed her clothes and removed her heels, I wiped her make-up off with soft cotton I did the same with Irene.

It's already 3 AM, good thing it's Saturday today. Not that we would be drinking had there been a school the day after our night clubbing.

I went to my room and checked my phone after I took a bath, I received a text from Lavalee.

From: Lav

I'd be gone for the whole day. I'd be with Nii-sama.

To: Lav

Okay. I'd tell the two. Stay safe.

I've just taken a bath so I decided to just pull an all-nighter. I won't be able to fall asleep either. I decided to check all the security cameras through my tablet.

I went down to the kitchen first while carrying the tablet and viewing the security footage, I even saw myself walking down the stairs and heading to the kitchen in the surveillance camera footage.

I took fresh milk from the fridge and poured it into the glass. I sat on the counter and placed the glass on it while tapping the screen.

I was surprised when a notification came out from the motion sensor of Lavalee's room. I turned on the motion sensor of her room because she wasn't there so now I'm wondering why the sensor is detecting movement from her room.

I took out my phone and dialed Lavalee's number.

After a couple of rings, she picked it up.

[Moshi, moshi, Lavalee speaking.] She said in a sleepy voice

"Gomeiwaku o okake shite mōshiwakearimasen, Lavalee." I said because it looked like I woke her up

[Ani, gwaenchanh-a. Naze denwa shita no?] She replied in a calm tone

"I turned on the motion sensor and I received an alert. There's a motion sensed in your room. " I said

[Yoroshīdesu ka, Tal?] She asked and I heard some sounds

(Japanese: Are you sure about that, Tal?)

"Yeah, affirmative. " I replied then I heard some chattering and some voices.

[Can you go to my room?] She said so I immediately stood up while carrying the tablet and phone

I went up to the third floor using the elevator.

[Open my room. Lavalee.] She said just as the elevator arrived at the third floor

At first, I was still confused but when I was in front of the door I saw the pass that Lavalee said.

When I opened the door I was surprised to see a cat in front of me.

"Lav, there's a cat," I said and I heard her laugh

[Oh, I almost forgot!] she said while chuckling

[I almost forgot to feed her. Can you feed her while I'm gone, Chels? Follow her, she'd lead you to it.] She said and dropped the call so I went into Lav's room and closed the door

I turned on the lights and that's how I saw what the cat looked like.

It's an orange cat with blue eyes, it looked like a tiger cub actually but I don't think Lavalee's the kind of adventurous person who would go to the extent of taking care of a tiger cub.

"Here, kitty, kitty," I said and held out my hand but it ignored me, and instead went to an orange small fridge.

I opened the fridge and it purred, I was surprised when I opened it because the fridge was full of sushi.

I took a container and followed the cat to a small doll house, or perhaps it was this cat's house.

There is a ceramic bowl so I put two sushi in there.

"Hello, what's your name?" I asked and stroked his fur.

He had a collar but I didn't see much of the name hanging because it was covering the name tag as it eats.

I was taken aback when it suddenly roared.

Oh my goodness!

It's not a cat, it's a tiger cub!

"Uh, hello," I said and tried to pet it

I just held my hand out, at first it seems reluctant but a little later, it sniffed my finger and finally let its fur touch my hand.

I petted it and that's when I finally saw the name on the collar it was wearing, Mnemosyne.

My phone rang suddenly so I answered it.

[Oh, Chels, did I forget to tell you Mnemosyne's a wolf-tiger? If I did, well, now you know.] she said in a playful tone

"Uh, actually I figured it out already," I said and I heard her chuckle

[Hora, kanojo wa anata ni hōkō shimashita ka? Also, have you fed her sushi?] she asked

"I did," I said

[Actually, Mnemosyne's way calmer than Ryu, Freia's pet, same kind.] She told me and my eyes widened

"Wait, Freia? Summer Freia also has a pet tiger?" I asked in surprise

[Tiger-wolf, it's a tiger-wolf.] She corrected

"You allowed your sister to have a pet like... this?" I asked her still puzzled

[Why not, Freia was actually the one who conducted the experiment. They're both under observation.] She said

"Uh, so what should I do?" I asked

[Is it too much if I ask you to bring her around today? She arrived last night, I think, while we're in the camp.] She said

"Ah, that's fine. It could help clear my head." I said

[Okay, call you later then.] She said and hung up.

I looked at Mnemosyne who was currently stretching her body.

"Come here, Mnemosyne," I said and opened my palm.

I was a little taken aback when she really came over and licked my hand.

"Good girl," I said and lightly patted her head

Naze denwa shita no? - Why did you call?

Yoroshīdesu ka, Tal? - Are you sure about that, Tal?

Hora, kanojo wa anata ni hōkō shimashita ka? - I see, did she roar at you?
