Hanazono: Heiress

Lavalee Flamelinne Hanazono, the second born and heir to the large multi-trillion Hanazono Empire, is not your typical heiress. Beneath her often irritating and frowned-upon spoiled and brat-like appearance and ways, she carries a heavy burden and a scarred heart. No matter how free and how ideal her almost perfect life appears in front of everyone, from the moment she had stepped into the world, her arms and feet had been bounded by chains. These chains not only restrict her from stepping into the light by holding her back into the shadows, but it also wraps around her heart. An inescapable obligation passed down behind the curtains from generation to generation in their family, an obligation that robbed her, and her whole family, of the chance to make great childhood memories. She had learned to live in a way that she doesn't hurt herself with the chains she's bounded to but this is about to change. “What I am doesn’t define who I am.” May it be the will of fate or simply mere coincidence, she will cross paths with a person who is her complete opposite. Even though he is walking in the path she can never walk in, his and her life will soon be entangled in a knot that tightens the more they try to step away from each other. She whose hands are tainted with the blood of many people, she who wears a crown of authority, power, and responsibility, she who keeps a whole empire steady, and she who had her heart surrounded by metal to avoid getting swayed from her duties. He who belongs to the world that Lavalee wanted to return to but can’t, he who mandates the laws that her world breaks, and he who has the courage to open Lavalee’s heart again. “Who said it’s going to be easy?” Indeed, it won’t be easy.

Camping Preparations

_07_ (Andrea Jess Collins's Point of View)

We are currently packing our bags for the camping. Because it's tomorrow, I have to pack up all of my things now.

Do I know why Lav wants us to attend? No, I don't and I don't have the slightest idea.

She's confusing which makes her very hard to read and all that, so I don't even try.

Why am I packing then? Because it's her. She's Lav.

But honestly, assassinations and mafia missions will definitely be harder than what we'll be doing during this camping trip.

Then again, I come back to the very reason I am packing. It came from Lavalee, and Lavalee is Lavalee, she loves all kinds of trouble.

I heard the door open and it won't take a genius to know who went in from the weight and pattern of the footsteps.

"What the? CAMPING Jess. Camping, not vacation. " Irene said and I gave her a deadpan look

"So?" I raised an eyebrow

She's going to barge in here and then just tease and criticize.

"Michin! Two-piece bathing suit, see-through shirt, jeans short? Are you serious?" she asked and laughed

"Gwaenchanh-a? Dangsin-eun hella keeohaji anhseubnida!" I rolled my eyes and she threw my sunblock on my face making me hiss at her.

"Sunblock, it's rainy season." She didn't stop teasing me but I just ignored her

She's very annoying indeed. If you've been with her for more than a couple of years you'll be used to it, though, I will admit that sometimes it still annoys me.

"So, you and your boyfriend haven't talked in a while, no?" she asked and I took the kunai under my pillow and threw it at her

Aw, such a pity.

It hit the wall behind her straight away and she stood there, grinning like an idiot.

"Oh, wait, that's wrong." She kiddingly covered her mouth while chuckling

"To apologize for my mistake of assuming you guys had a label, please let me give you a gift." she said and started spraying perfume from the bottle in her hand

"BIANCA IRENE LEE!" I shouted at her in disbelief

"Oh, it's the wrong bottle. Mianhe," she said grinning so I threw a shuriken at her

"Get out of my room! NOW!" I said in irritation and she chuckled

"Calm your nerves, Andrea Jess, I came bearing news from the living room." She said making my forehead knot in confusion

"I'm going to the living room after pack," I gestured to my folded clothes

"Well then move quicker, you have a visitor downstairs." She replied

"Visitor, Who? " I asked and closed my suitcase

"Actually, an unwelcomed one." She added and went out of my room

That's annoying, now my room smells like a man's perfume!

But because Irene said I have an 'unwelcomed visitor' downstairs, I went out of my room only to see a freaking asshole shaking hands like he's some sort of candidate for the presidency while I'm descending the stairs.

"Yeogiseo mwo haeyo, jeokeu? You're not allowed here. " I sighed while going down

"I miss you too, Andrea." He smiled and gave me a hug

"Bryle!" annoyed at his advances, I pushed him away

"I came here to see you, Andrea. Don't you miss me? Because I did, I missed you. " He said so I stared at him and rolled my eyes

"You should know by now that the only thing that she misses is blocking you." Lavalee said laughing when I just passed by that jerk

"Why are you here, Bry?" Chelsea asked, completely aware of my irritation

"I want to see Jess." He answered so I threw the first thing I touched, which is luckily a kunai, at him

"It almost hit my face, baby!" he exclaimed after avoiding

I seriously don't know if I throw too slow, or if people like him are just too good at avoiding things.

I just decided to eat breakfast instead of letting myself get stressed by that jerk.

When I felt his presence behind him, I was about to throw the butter knife on the table at him when my - or apparently at this moment his - savior spoke.

"I advise you not to piss Jess, Bryle. She's still pissed by Irene's teasing earlier." Chelsea said and so at last Bryle stopped disturbing my peace

I was able to enjoy my breakfast in peace. Thankfully, Lavalee told Bryle to do something so the pesky attention seeker left me alone.

After eating, I went back to my room to fix my things. I ignored the smell even if it's damn annoying.

I put back in the closet the clothes I put earlier because it smells like a damn men's perfume because of Irene.

"Ms. Jess, Ms. is calling you. Lavalee. " I heard my assigned guard, Caspian said from the outside after knocking

"Come in!" I said because I was still fixing my clothes

It's really good that I brought a lot of clothes

"Ms. Jess - Jess. " I corrected

He's not our employee so he doesn't have to call me 'Ms. Jess' or anything of the sort.

"Ah, Miss Lavalee asked me to call you. By the way, why does your room smell like a man?" he said

"Okay, I'll follow," I answered and wed back to fixing the equipment

He came out then so I locked the door and got some clothes.

I took a bath and went out and my eyes widened when I saw Bryle He even have the audacity to look at me from head to toe!

"OUT!" I said and reached for the caliber .45 that was behind my study table.

I shot him until he left the room and immediately locked the door, I made sure to double-lock it. I glanced at the keychain on the floor.

It's not just a keychain, there are keys as well. I picked it up and my knotted forehead when I saw it.

What's this?

I noticed something engraved on the back, and as soon as I saw it, I smiled bitterly. It's way too late.

~~~
What the hell ?! Who in the world is doing that irritating sound?
It's so early in the morning but someone's making a sound similar to when the spatula hits a stainless basin. I went out of my room and saw that even Irene and Chelsea did the same.
"Breakfast is ready. We just woke you up because we might be late! Come on let's go!" Lavalee told us while we're still processing everything
We followed her in our half-asleep state, Jace and I were the only ones dressed and ready to leave.
"Why so early, Lav?" I asked while sitting in the chair
"Because of this," Jace said and handed us a paper
"Just because of a damn game?" Irene said shaking her head
Yeah, it's just because of a team building game
"For sure we'll be grouped together." She added
"Any updates, Chels?" Lavalee turned to Chelsea
"None, no matter what I do, nothing really comes out, Lav. Mianhe." Chelsea replied
The disappointment was written all over Lavalee's always smiling face and she shook her head.
"Sore o kitai shite ita hazudesu." She said before standing up
"It's been almost 4 years now." We heard her say before leaving
We looked at each other before continuing to eat.
We're used to it.
Lavalee doesn't want us to bother her when this is the topic. Butt into any topic just not this. It's kind of taboo. Especially if Freia is here.
I immediately answered my phone when I heard it ring
[Joh-eun achim, eonni Jess!] A very cheerful voice said
"Joh-eun achim-iya, jagiya." I greet back
"You're up early," I commented
[I should be saying that. If I'm correct, it's just 4:30 AM there.] She said
"It is but we have camping today so I have to. Why did you call? Are you looking for Lavalee? " I said
[A, eonni yaegileul hajamyeon, jilmun hana haedo doelkkayo? Geojismalhaji maseyo.] she said and I gulped because of the tone of her voice
Even though I don't see Freia now, I can feel the seriousness and the scary aura from her voice.
"I-I w-won't, Freia," I answered
[Nal wihae mwongaleul sassni?] She asked and I blinked a couple of times to make sure I didn't just hallucinate and I heard her question clearly
"Eung? Museun mal-iya?" I answered confused
[You didn't? Good! I only want all of you to be safe. Bye!] The call ended with that
I breathed heavily and tried to calm myself.
Gosh! Those siblings are scary.
I went back to my room and took a shower then I put on comfortable clothes.
"Wow, what a coincidence." Irene said when we met in the van we were going to use
"Uniform?" Chelsea asked and chuckled
I'm wearing a sleeves beige hoodie as top, black jeans, and black Airmax rubber shoes.
She's right, we're wearing almost the same thing except for Lavalee who is wearing ripped jeans.
We wore our IDs so when we arrived at school we won't encounter any hassle. For sure there would be a lot of security protocols.
When we got to school, all BM3 students like us lined up.
Business Management Camp and because we're the third year, the security protocols we need to follow doubled.
"Class BM–3, I want all of you to know that during this camp all of you will act as an employee while the student council president will act as your employer." Our acting professor said while we're in the bus
Wait, what?! Student Council President?
Which means – Icarus Santiago will act as our employer?
"Shinjirarenai!"
"Mid-eul su eobsneun!"
"Maji?!"
We all exclaimed in disbelief.
"Yes, Ms. Kan? Ms. Han? Ms. Jang? Is there a problem?" tanong ng Professor namin and we shook our heads.
We looked at each other and I saw Lavalee smirk.
Looks like she won't be going easy on this so-called employment.
