Chapter 3: The Ambush, part 2

In an open-aired sunken room with a chain fence along its long side was a crash dummy with a simple, blue bulls-eye painted on it. After he found that the door to the observation room was locked, Gordon used the gravity gun to blow down the fence. He then used the long-jump module to leap into the observation room's open-aired window opposite the crash dummy.

Next, Gordon and Wheatley came upon the Turret Control Center Voice Verification chamber.

"This is where the turrets usually are tested audio-wise to make sure that they are not defective, but for some reason turrets are not being produced. Maybe something is wrong with the template turret. I remember that a portion of the management rail is up there anyway, so if we continue up these stairs, that would be great."

Gordon did what Wheatley asked him to do. He went back, picked up the turret, and returned to Wheatley. They went inside the control center for the particular test and found a crow nesting. When the crow saw Wheatley, she started cawing loudly while staying put in her nest.

"Oh no, it's that crow! Oh, she isn't attacking me. That's a relief."

After Gordon exited the control center, the crow flew out the opposite entrance.

"All right then. Umm, miss, which way to GlaDOS's cake."

"The Oracle at Delphi would cleanse herself in sacred water before she would attempt to prognosticate."

"Umm, what does that have to do with the cake in Aperture Science? Wait a minute, you did say something about a rematch earlier, right? If I have to get through GlaDOS rather than around her to get cake, count me out."

The turret repeated the phrase about the Oracle at Delphi.

"Hmm, so maybe I either have to go through GlaDOS or do something about cleaning. I don't know what to do. Maybe you could figure it out, Gordon? I know, GlaDOS started calling you Gordon first, but I like to say your name so you could feel more… you know… relatable to me. *half-mumbling* If I had known Chell's name earlier, maybe she would have caught me when I fell."

At the end of the conversation, Gordon and Wheatley then find themselves near a split in the catwalk.
