The new CEO

Hailey woke up the next morning and was surprised to see herself in the bedroom.

"How did I get here?" She asked herself trying to figure out how she got to the room. She remembered she had dozed off in the living room.

Just then, Jeremy came out of the bathroom.

"Oh you've woken up. Good morning Miss!"

"Good morning Jeremy.”

"How was your night?"

"It was fine. How did I get to the room? I remember I had slept off in the living room while waiting for you.”

"I met you sleeping on the rug and brought you to the bedroom!" He replied.

"Oh Okay!"

"Don't I deserve a thank you?" He asked.

"Thank you Jeremy!" A faint smile appeared on his face.

"Hailey you have to get ready on time today. I'm taking you to see my dad at his office. He wants to introduce you to his board of directors. I will be dropping you off before going to work!"

"Okay Jeremy!"

Hailey got up from bed to get prepared and Jeremy went to dress up. He came out dressed in a black suit. Meanwhile, Hailey was still in the bathroom.

"Hailey, I'll be waiting for you downstairs!"

"Okay!" He left the bedroom.

Few minutes later, she came out of the bathroom. Hailey quickly got dressed up. She wore a red chic dress with a black shoe to match. She picked up her handbag and headed downstairs.

Breakfast was already served. She met Jeremy sitting at his usual spot on the dining. He had not eaten. He was waiting for her.

"You're here, shall we have breakfast?" Hailey nodded and as usual, he got up and served her meal before serving his. They both enjoyed the meal in silence. After eating, the two were set to leave the house. Jeremy gave the butler and the maids instructions before leaving the house.

They both entered the car with Jeremy on the driver's seat. They left the house.

"I see you found my room with books!"

"More like your library. I can't believe you have time to read so many books!" Jeremy laughed sardonically and Hailey felt awkward.

“What's funny?".

"I'm sorry Hailey but you amuse me!"

"Really?" He nodded.

"How?"

"For goodness sake Hailey, I'm a medical doctor and doctors read and study more often!"

"Oh I didn't know that!" He laughed again.

"It's not funny Jeremy!" "Okay, fine!" He said and stopped laughing.

They got to Reign Empire. The company was a very big one. Hailey gasped at the sight of it. She had never been there before.

"Follow me, so you don't get lost!" He said to her. Hailey followed him and they met his dad in the office.

"Welcome Hailey dear!" Mr Reign welcomed her.

"Thank you sir." She replied humbly. Jeremy left her under his dad's care. Mr Reign and his daughter in-law strolled the company.

"As you know, this is Reign Empire. A company I created twenty years ago! Named it after myself too!" He said and chuckled.

"Hailey, I’m going to retire soon and you will take over and manage this place as the new CEO!"

"Yes sir!"

"I want you to meet my board of directors. They've supported me all these years and they hope to work with you to move this company forward!"

The entered the meeting room. The board of directors were already seated waiting for them. "Good morning to you all!"

"Good morning sir!" They replied in unison.

"As I discussed earlier, I will soon be retiring and my daughter in-law here, Hailey Roberts Reign will be taking over from me as the new CEO of Reign Empire." Everyone clapped.

"Please,I hope you all work well with her to move this company forward."

"Yes sir!" Hailey was warmly welcomed by the directors. She spent the whole day in the company getting to know the directors and how things worked in the company. Later that day after working hours, Jeremy came to pick her and they went home.
