Signs

The woman and the man stood at the corner observing, they witnessed two people running to the house, and watched after a while as the boy jumped out of a window she smiled ,that must be her room , suddenly her eyes glowed she turned to the man and said, He knows we are here, everything just got interesting , they weren't strong and capable enough to take him yet, but they will soon, they disappeared before they lost their lives......

I felt a lot of things that I don't know how to explain or understand, I open my eyes and my head hurts like hell, I try to look around and my eyes fall On Jen ,she smiles and walks up to me and holds my hand and I could have sworn I saw her eyes glow , or maybe it's just me because of this stupid headache , It feels like deja vu because I feel like I've woken up before and my mind flashed to a memory of me sitting with my mum and dad for breakfast, but that's not possible because I'm still in bed and mum hasn't come to wake me up yet, hey Jen I say ,she smiles and it makes her more beautiful I groan and try to throw a pillow at her, she laughs hard and catches the pillow , I can swear I can tell you what you just thought of she says she starts laughing harder, I soon join her because that's who Jen is , a happy soul who you can't just help but like and I'm glad she's my best friend , why are you still in bed Hailey we've got school and you know you have to see King for your normal power up and starts to laugh, she always makes fun of me and my feelings for King well not in a bad way I usually like it, I get up and notice that I'm dressed and I'm not hungry, I was very surprised because I don't remember getting dressed, Jen just casually said maybe you got up earlier and you know got prepared and then went back to sleep, I was like oh you're right, I didn't stop to think how she knew what I was thinking,I just decided to go brush my teeth and maybe fix my hair up and then I was ready I didn't see my parents oddly, they should have woken me up if I slept in , so unlike them, especially my mum she was like a human alarm , Jen again said maybe they are just tired and slept in as well they are only human, then it struck me ,that Jen has been answering questions that I ask in my mind,I look up at Jen startled, how do you do that, how do you guess correctly what I've been thinking and accurately answer me, she smiled and answers maybe I'm psychic and winks at me which makes me to start laughing, I decide to go with what she said because Jen is always right another thing about her, except about King , because we clearly can see that King likes her, but like all handsome and beautiful people they are always so clueless about people who likes them, and then we left for school.......

when Hailey woke up I noticed she was having a headache, so I tried to help her and heal her, but I noticed she saw my eyes so I had to stop immediately, one thing about Hailey is that she's really smart, once she bites hard on something it'll take the whole world to convince her otherwise, because I touched her I was able to read her mind and noticed she was asking questions that could lead to more questions, so I help her by answering it like I always do, as naturally as I can almost like I'm advising her, that way she doesn't get creeped out that I always answer the question in her mind correctly,her powers are growing at the same time her inquisitive prowess, ever since she started levitating in her sleep she started believing in superheroes and all that, so I try to help her steer her wandering mind to the right directions to avoid complications when we eventually have to reveal ourselves to her, so I talk to her about seeing King, that helps a lot in distracting her , when she asked about her parents in her mind I had to think of a quick response asap because I put her parents to sleep and they weren't going to be awake anytime soon to avoid her to panic and call the police I had to say something to make her calm down as naturally as possible that's the key to Hailey's wandering mind , natural response so she'll be comfortable with the conversation or your answers, I successfully answer all her questions, thank God I cleaned the tables and put everything in order before coming up to see her I don't even know what I would have said to get out of that kind of situation, thinking about it instantly gave me goosebumps,Oh Hailey and her mind will be the death of me ,I internally start to laugh, I remember that's how she has always been , I can't wait to have my best friend back with all her memories of our time together before tragedy struck, I look up to her, I'll protect her with everything I've got because she's all that I have,she can never be replaced ,a best friend and a sister all in one,that's Hailey Knight my best friend.......

after noticing the bastards I try to pin their location but they got away before I could get to them, I would have destroyed them, I try to hover around to protect the girls for when they have to go to school later, my eyes glow and I put up a force field around the house,one thing I'm sure of is that those people will be back and I don't want to take any chances, when they come back I'll be waiting for them , after about thirty minutes the girls come out , that was quick I thought I had to wait for an hour,girls are so funny on how long they prepare, when Hailey comes out just like always she steals my breath away , she has always had this effect on my in all the years I've been with her it hasn't dwindled, suddenly a memory flashes through my mind,it's her in her black flowing robe ,she was always guarded never alone , we usually met on the physical plain ,that's the realm of the humans, she would try to eat as many fruits as she could try because she couldn't eat it in our realm , she would have to ask for permission and it wasn't always positive, I would get so many different fruits as possible for her ,she would squeal with delight whenever I gave it to her , remembering her happy face I started smiling, she didn't want or deserve anything that happened to her, she was just born to the wrong parents not that they didn't care for her but they weren't supposed to have her, the memory changed then it was fire everywhere and blood and Hailey was....,I couldn't finish it , no please I can't remember this ,it's like I relieve that moment everytime I remember, the pain washes through me , it's my punishment for not protecting her and I've come to accept it , how could I have not protected my queen , just like that day I felt the madness coming on ,oh no I've got to snap out of this , I'm being triggered ,I didn't know when my feet moved on their own , the next thing I knew I felt her,it was my queen , she was hugging me, oh shit I was the one hugging her..........

we were set for school, we were trying to hurry but suddenly I couldn't explain it ,i felt an ache in my heart,it felt like something was wrong with me ,no it isn't me ,but it felt like me ,I started hyperventilating, what came to my mind was maybe it was an asthma attack,the problem is I've never had asthma in my life ,I needed air, I grabbed Jen's hands tight, I must have scared her because the look on her face was pure horror,for some weird reason I didn't want her to go through that kind of fear ever again, I wanted to protect her , I wanted to pretend like I was okay, so I tried to smile, but I knew I couldn't fool Jen , she held. my hand and tried to take me back inside the house, but the look on her face disappeared as fast as it came, almost like I imagined it , maybe I did because the Jen I know is not capable of fear, she was so fearless and for some reason I feel she would laugh at the face of danger, suddenly I was enveloped in the warmest of hugs, like an antidote in my system I was okay, my heart rate accelerated, It wasn't Jen who hugged me I know that for a fact , turning my head ,my heart skipped a beat, yeah I'm definitely still sleeping, it's probably one of those dreams I used to have , because there's no way on earth that I'm in King Nights arms , he was hugging me like his laugh depended on it , yeah definitely a dream , any minute now Mum will call for me to come down for breakfast, but it wasn't happening, I tried to pinch myself to check if I was still sleeping , but i wasn't sleeping this is real, King is hugging me in front of my house, I would have preferred it in front of the priest, But I'm in Kings arms the sheer joy I felt at this moment can not be riviled, how can one person have this much power over me "not like I would want a multitude of people to have power of me", I looked up and tried to see his face and I was hit with disappointment, he wasn't looking happy, he looked shocked and angry and he was staring at Jen who had the same look to mirror his , my beautiful dream shattered, my heart broke into a thousand pieces, I thought she always said that King likes me and like a fool I believed her when anybody can see that he cares so much for her even a blind man can see that, I couldn't do it ,I couldn't stop the tears that fell from my eyes , I had to go away from here , from them , I didn't want to hear King telling me it was a mistake, that he thought I was Jen no matter how stupid the reason he was going to give will be I didn't want to hear it, so I did what any reasonable person would do , I ran.............

coming out of the house I felt a force field go up , I wanted to be alarmed but then I immediately recognized who did it , there's only one person, why would he do this, is he trying to expose Hailey's location, why didn't he just take a microphone and announce that she lived here, any body can easily see that this place is protected, I try to take my mind of it, I'll tell him to bring it down later, not now when Hailey was here,I was holding Hailey's hand when I felt the pressure from her hand , I looked at her to crack a joke when I noticed her trying to breathe, raw fear washed through me and I was already trying to bring her back to the house to protect her and figure out what was happening, she was trying to bear the pain I could tell, then I sensed him coming, it must be King projecting this feelings to her, but how, she wasn't supposed to feel them or at least not like this now, it's five days to her birthday for crying out loud, the universe should give her a break , I can never understand how they could feel each other so much, that kind of love is rare even in our realm , they felt what the other one felt and I could swear that they even communicated with their mind without even touching, it was only normal for the children of Selene the moon goddess but not us, it sometimes creeped me out, then suddenly King took her from my hands and was hugging her ,oh great he's going to blow our cover, what is up with him today, he knows the closer he is to her the harder it'll be for both of them more for him than her , why is he doing this , I couldn't shake the look of shock and anger from my face while looking at him making sure to make eye contact to express my displeasure not before Hailey looked at me and caught the look , I don't even need to read her mind to know what she was thinking before I could try to explain ,her powers decided to come in early as well as her eyes glowed while she was crying and she ran with super speed...........
