Haikyuu: The Ace

"I wish I could go to Haikyuu world...", With that thought, I closed my eyes and embraced death. I was born in a poor state in a third-world country. I had a pretty normal childhood in a middle-class household.

I was a fan of anime, manga, and novels. But as I grew older I started to read them less and less but I still watched Haikyuu. The characters do exactly what I wished to do. I somewhat feel jealous of them. I decided to work hard like them and help my family.

I had just finished my master's and gotten a job thinking that I would finally be able to help my family financially when I was diagnosed with cancer. Due to poor medical facilities, we don't have regular checkups, so when I was diagnosed, it was already Stage 3 pancreatic cancer that was developing aggressively.

Within 5-6 months, I am here dying. Now that I remember, I could have done much more with my life if I would have been more determined and hardworking.

"That was quite the monologue, I must say", a voice broke me out of my thought.

I then looked around to see that I am in some garden with a beautiful flower, clear spring, and a small mountain. And I am sitting in a luxurious wooden chair, and there is an old man sitting in front of me.

The old man looked quite handsome for his age with a black suit and blue tie that match his grey hair. Then I remember that this is exactly the situation described in many novels and fanfictions.

"Yes, I am god, and this is similar to what those stories describe", said the man in front of me.

I looked at the man who can probably read my thought and said, "So, what now? Do I get to reincarnate like normal or get some wishes and have my adventure?"

"You are quite casual about death. It seems all cancer patients have that in common. And for the mode of reincarnation, that will depend on yourself. You will get 3 wishes regardless of the world. And if it's a normal world, then no over the top wishes and if it's a super-powered world you can wish but not too crazy wishes", said the man who claimed to be God.

I contemplated for a bit and said, "I want to go to Haikyuu world. And before making wishes, am I special, or was I randomly selected".

"Don't think too much. Besides victims of truck-kun, I have decided to let victims of cancer-kun also enjoy a bit. You were randomly selected among those who have died of cancer. Now tell me your wishes", God said with a smirk on his face.

Hearing that, I became somewhat depressed, but then I recovered quickly and thought for the wishes I had thought during my hospital time if I were to die.

"My wishes are-

1- I want a very athletic body that can grow up to 194 cm with a powerful but lean physique. And I should have very high control of the body.

2- Potent learning and comprehension abilities.

3- Lots of luck for my family members and me".

"Your wishes are all right. Now at what timeline and place do you want to go, and do you want to keep your memories or not?"

I thought for a while and replied with a smile, "I want to be born in the same year as Hinata and Kageyama. I want to born in Miyagi Prefecture. And yes, I want to keep my memories. And it would be good if you could make me handsome".

"Handsome? Hahaha. Okay, your wish will be fulfilled" God laughed a bit and waved his hands, and I became unconscious.

As soon as I become conscious, I noticed that I am unable to open my and I am in a liquid medium with a density higher than water. I also notice that I couldn't properly feel my body or move much.

I then remembered the knowledge I got from Novels and Fanfictions, and I conclude that I must be inside the womb.

Then I did what every self-respecting fan of the novel will do, I tried to meditate and search for chi/ki/Qi in my body. Well, I didn't get anything, but from what I can feel about my body, I am at least a 7-8 month baby. So in about a month or two, I will be born.

A month later

Suddenly I feel, the fluid around me is decreasing. I think the water broke and I hear noises from the outside. After about 1-2 hours, I came to the world through a very grueling and painful process.

As soon I came out, I cried a bit then fell asleep. The next day when I woke up, I look around to see that I am in a crib in what seemed to be a hospital.

My action seems to have attracted my family members in the room. After hearing them for a bit I think I figured out their name as well as my name.

Now that I have gotten a name and probably have my wishes fulfilled, I hope to never repeat my past mistakes and learn from them. And whatever I do I will enjoy my life to the fullest. As soon as I became determined sleep assaulted me and I became asleep.
