2 Chapter 2

Hinata went down for breakfast in a fairly good mood. His mom had just put breakfast on the table when she saw him coming down with a big smile on his face. She was happy to see him this cheerful in the morning. His mood had been hard to figure out in the last few days.

"You're in a good mood today" his mother, Shizuka said with a smile.

She was woman of about 170 cm in height with short neck length black hair almost reaching her shoulders and warm hazel eyes. She had an attractive motherly figure with ample busts. She looked younger than her age and had a cheerful smile on her face. She had this warm motherly aura around her and he just loved her to bits. She always did her best and took really good care of her children all by herself.

He just walked over to her and picked her up in a hug and spun her around. She was really surprised. It had been a while since she had seen him this happy.

"Yes mom.. I'm really happy today. I had a great sleep and had this amazing dream. I feel really good"

"Oh? Must have been a pretty good dream. What was it about?" she asked curiously.

"It's a secret" he just smiled mysteriously.

Just then his little sister Natsu came running into the room attracted by the smell of the food. She was a cute little girl of around 9-10 years of age with short orange hair and big hazel eyes the same as her mom. She looked like a small mini version of their mom except for the hair.

Both of them had inherited their mother's looks and eyes but not her hair. Their hair colour was from their father. A person Hinata wouldn't like to talk much about. It was sometimes easy to mistake their eye colour for brown due to light and distance but it was noticable once someone was close enough.

"Good morning mom, big bro" natsu greeted cheerfully.

They greeted her back with a soft smile. Hinata really doted on her. Even though she was sometimes pretty annoying, he wouldn't have it any other way. He was definitely the doting and overprotective big brother type.

They quickly sat down and stared having breakfast. They made some small talks before Natsu asked him about his match tomorrow.

"Big bro.. don't you have a match tomorrow? Are you nervous?"

"I was really nervous before.. but not anymore. The team we're up against are very strong and nobody on my team knows how to play other than me. I'll obviously try my best but I just came to realise that even if we don't win.. it doesn't really matter. At the end of the day.. it's just a match in junior high and doesn't have any real consequences. I'll just use this as a learning opportunity and try to improve my game in the future. If I'm strong individually, I'm sure I'll be stronger in a real team" he replied with a soft smile and dug in for another bite.

Suddenly there was complete silence at the table. He looked up from his plate to see both his mother and sister staring at him with their mouth wide open. Shock evident on their faces.

Natsu's face then gave way for a huge smile and he could see stars 🌟 in her eyes.

"Wow! Big bro.. that was soo cool! You looked really cool when you said that!" she exclaimed.

"That was a really mature response. I'm so proud of you" his mother said.

She was really surprised by his response. She didn't know he could think like that. Just what happened to her son this morning? Whatever it was.. she was just glad that her son was slowly starting to mature.

Hinata didn't say anything and just smiled. He was actually surprised with his response too. He wouldn't have said that if you had asked him this question yesterday. 'I guess the dream/vision had a bigger impact on me than I imagined' he thought.

_____________

After breakfast he went to his backyard and started playing with the ball. It felt different in his hands today than it did yesterday. He knew just having memories won't automatically make him a better player. The only way to do that was by practice. While it would definitely make it easier and increase his learning rate.. it would still come down to first hand experience. After all.. knowing about something and actually doing it are two very different things.

His natural reflex and speed were already good. He'd have to work on his control, balance and techniques. It won't be easy but it hadn't been too long since the junior high year started and it would be quite a while before he graduated. He was confident that by the time he joined Karasuno.. he was going to be a completely different player. And he had already thought of a plan for improving.

But before all that.. he'd have to change his diet and he needed to train his body. Especially his legs and upper body. He'd need to increase his strength as well. He was thinner than he would like to be and therefore looked even smaller than he should. He definitely needed to change that.

He thought about the insane quick attack that was discovered by him and Kageyama that terrified all their opponents and the blockers and it automatically brought a smile on his face. He still couldn't believe he could possibly do something that awesome. He was almost giddy with excitement and anticipation. He couldn't wait to experience what it really felt like to pull it off for himself. And this time, it would be even better because there would be no closing eyes nonsense. There was no way he'd miss the view from there.

He spent the rest of the day trying to get some basics down and familiarised himself with the ball all over again. It definitely felt different in his hands now but he found himself liking this new feeling much more. He couldn't wait to meet the real Kageyama for the first time tomorrow. Things would definitely be different this time, even if a little.
