Chapter 7 [Elementary Days (pt. 4)]

//Previously: And so, these four kids have officially become friends.//

DING DONG...DING DONG...DING DONG DING DONG DING DONG DIN-

"WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND IS RINGING THE DOORBELL 7 IN THE MORNING?!?"

The black haired girl opened the door, where she is shown 3 kids in front of her. They were also holding some sleeping bags.

"It's us, you dumbo. Now back off."

The confident brownie stepped inside the house.

"Ojama shimasu!"

(Ojama shimasu= Excuse me, sorry for intruding; what japanese people say when entering someone's house)

The two behind the girl followed the same thing. Mayumi, a resident of the house, asked loudly,

"Why are you three in here?"

"What else? A sleepover, duh."

"This early in the morning? And who even invited YOU?"

"You."

"Pfft, yeah, stop lying."

"What do you mean by that? Did you...no way, did you seriously forget?"

"Forget what, chibi?"

"Mayumi! Why are you so loud?!? Hm? Oh, you three must be here for the sleepover?"

The guests reply softly,

"Hai."

"I didn't expect you all to come so early, but feel free to enjoy yourselves. Just please don't be so loud like my daughter, I'll go ahead and make breakfast."

"Hai!"

"Woah, wait, what?!? Ka-san, did YOU invite them?"

"What are you talking about? You're the one who did, not me."

"Huh?!?"

"*sigh* I knew Mayumi was stupid but not forgetful."

"HEY! I HEARD THAT!"

"BE QUIET!"

The little raven faked some tears from the scolding, expecting at least one to pity her. Contrast to the expectations, Emiko informed,

"Mayumi, don't you remember what we agreed on? Three days ago?"

"Huh? Agreed on?"

-3 days before-

"Alright! So let's review. There's Enchanting Emiko, Killjoy Kazuo, Maddog Mayumi, and Sweet, Sachie me! Correct?"

"THAT'S SO WRONG!" x2

"How so?"

"You got Emiko and Kazuo right, but it's Me, Magnificent Mayumi and Sarcastic Scammer Sachie!"

"What do you mean she got mine right?!? It's Enchanting Emiko, Moronic Mayumi, Shrewd Sachie, and Kind-hearted Kute Kitten King Kazuo! :)"

"THAT'S ALSO WRONG!" x2

Emiko, after enjoying the thrill, intervened.

"Either way, we get the point. Now what should we do next to celebrate this friendship?"

The four began thinking, 3 minutes passed, and Sachie finally got the lightbulb!

"How about a sleepover?"

"Sleepover? That's a great idea! You all fine with it?"

They nod.

"Then let's choose a date! I have piano lessons tomorrow so definitely not then."

Sachie is received with all kinds of stares.

"...what?"

"YOU DO PIANO?!?" x3

"Yeah, got a problem with that? And shut up Mayumi, your voice is too loud that your mom probably thought of leaving ya."

"HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?!?"

"...wait, seriously?"

"I mean...hahaha, the sky is so gray today!"

The attempt to cover up the shame was ignored.

"Anyways, not tomorrow for sure. Since it's also pretty late, probably not today. Then how about Friday? 2 days after?"

"Oh, I got tutoring then so it wouldn't work out."

"*blink blink* YOU DO TUTORING?!?" x3

"Yeah...why?"

"Then how are you so dumb?"

"HEY! I am NOT dumb. My scores are pretty good, you know?"

"Kazuo, tutoring are for nerds and dummies. Since Mayumi is always 5th last in our class, isn't is obvious why she needs it?"

"Oh! That makes more sense."

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT MAKES MORE SENSE, GRANDPA-"

"Okay, so how about the day after? Saturday? I'm free then."

"Me too!"

"Me three!"

"Same here!"

The girls deadpan on the "only boy of the group."

"...what?"

"You're supposed to say 'Me four!'"

"Why?"

"It just works that way! Ugh, whatever. Saturday, right? How about my house for the sleepover?"

"Sounds good to me."

"Okie dokie!"

"Me four."

...

"What? I said it, 'Me four.'"

"...forget it. So Saturday, Mayumi's House. Capisce?"

"Capisce."x3

-End of Flashback-

"OHHHHHH, I remember it now! But why 7 in the morning? Couldn't you all come much later?"

"My parents have work."

"I don't want to play with the neighboring kids."

"My cousin is currently locking someone up in our basement."

"Okay whatev-hold up, Sachie? You said what?!?"

"Yeah, apparently, my cousin's a psychotic yandere."

"..."

"Anyways, where should we put the bags?"

"Oh, my room is upstairs. Just plop it down and you're good to go. We can watch some movies as we wait for breakfast."

"Noice."

The quartet had so much fun that day (credits to Mayumi + Sachie's fighting/muscial comedy) they didn't even notice they passed their curfew! It wasn't until Mama Enatsu informed them that they finally used the sleeping bags. But was it for sleeping? ...no
