Chapter one (part one)

Why is it that when the moon is laying on its back, the sky feels more magical? She sat on her dresser with her feet placed by the window. Its a miracle you can see the moon at all in Tokyo, normally its blocked out by all the tall buildings. Still it had its own charm, being so much more full of life than the small town she came from. She looked at herself in the dresser mirror. She stared at her long red hair that curled at the ends,then her hazel eyes that looked as if she was permanently uninterested in the world around her. The look she gave made it hard to make friends, the language barrier even more so. There wasn't much to do tonight being a Sunday. Maybe I'll just go to bed, I have class in the morning and a part-time job not long after. As she drifted off she thought she could almost feel a hand stroking her hair. The terrifying thought almost woke her from her daze, but instead she figured it must just be her imagination, and continued drifting off until she was in a deep sleep.

The beeping of a reversing truck and a man shouting while it reversed woke her up. She looked around her room, it was smaller than what she was use to, but a decent size for Tokyo. Her parents own a few properties in Tokyo and let her stay there for a small maintenance fee.

Well it's Monday, which means a looong week ahead. All I have is work and school almost all week and then just two days of peace, IF I don't have to work overtime. Please God don't let there be over-time this weekend.

She sat on the train she looked at her surroundings, people everywhere, it wasn't as bad as some train lines, but still a bit overwhelming. The fact that no one spoke a word and everyone just glared at their phones meant she can do the same, and just switch off till she reaches her stop.She walked so fast out the train station, and down the street you would think she was running. There in the distance she can finally see her college's sign.
