Chapter 2: Drenched

Rain poured heavily on the streets of South Savana. Many had to stop under the bus station to shield themselves from the harsh weather.

"It's raining cats and dogs",a man in black rain cloak said while wiping the rain drops on his face.

"Tell me about it".Cillian murmured.

It took about three hours before the weather stilled completely and people continued thier daily activities. From selling hot chocolate to freshly fried buns, the aroma of hot snacks and the wet floor stirred Cillian's hunger as her tummy grumbled for food.

Deciding to enter the nearest Cafê,she made her way into a well furnished and moderate coffee shop and the bell at the entrance dinged. She took her seat in front of the counter and placed her order.

"I'd like to have a cup of black coffee and two donuts".Stated Cillian. Her whole body drenched from the rain as she struggled to seat comfortably because her jeans was soaking wet and hugged her thighs in a way that it was painful to make any sudden movements.

'I'll have to head home to change my clothes'.She thought as her order was placed before her."Thank you",she smiled at the waiter before she began digging into her meal.

Hearing the ding of the bell,Cillian turned her head with donut stuffed in her mouth. On seeing who it was, her jaw dropped.

"Cillian?".The person who had just entered was a ginger head lady who seemed to love the colour red because all she had on was red, even her lipstick was the same. She made her way to were Cillian sat and sat opposite her.

Gulping the food in her mouth, she replied."Stacy? Stacy Simone?". Stacy Simone. Xavier Simone's younger sister. A woman Cillian had know since thier childhood days when they were neighbours who lived across the street to each other. The woman sat in front of her with so much elegance and Cillian could not help to wonder how the timid Stacy of that time was so pretty and exquisite. Most of all,how was this woman dry after that heavy rain fall? Cillian kept on wondering before her thoughts were interrupted.

"In the flesh". Stacy said as she made her way to hug Cillian before sitting back

"Oh my. I'm soaked". Stacy complained after hugging Cillian.

"You should have not hugged me then".deadpanned Cillian. Stacy took Cillian's sudden coldness to no surprise for she knew how Cillian was and how she was quick to change her mood from the sweet pleasant girl to a stone cold killer. One couldn't help but wonder if she was pregnant due to her swift mood swings but that could not be possible because she had always been like that since Stacy knew her.

"No need to be all that".Stacy scolded her before she beckoned for the waiter.

"What can I get you ma'am?".The waiter asked getting out his note to take down her order.

"Anything hot".Stacy replied

"Would tea do?"

"That sounds perfect". Stacy agreed and the waiter left, leaving the two women alone and back to thier discussion.

"So tell me. What brought you to Saint Tropis?" Cillian asked, raising an eyebrow while sipping her black coffee.

"Well, incase you've not noticed, I'm married now".Stacy stretched out her index finger which held a a ring that had little diamond pieces arranged on it and had a rare Ruby jewel on top at the center. Cillian wasn't moved at the sight of the ring but the fact that she had been away for so long and hadn't known Stacy was married shook her.

"Married?". Cillian was still shocked at the news and anger began to build up within her. Not only was she angry that she wasn't there to witness all the changes that had occurred during the past 10 years she had left her home town to Saint Tropis but that Xavier did not tell her anything concerning Stacy's marriage.

"Yes. Married."Stacy had confirmed.

"No one told me."Cillian became even more annoyed as she spoke those words out which was shameful for her to say as she thought of it as a stupid excuse no one deserved to her, especially not Stacy.

"When you say NO ONE,you mean Xavier?"Stacy knew that Cillian wasn't told about the marriage but what she was confused about was that why didnt Xavier mention anything to Cillian.

Cillian hesitated before she answered."Yes".Avoiding as much eye contact as she could not bring herself to look at Stacy's face, fearing that she wore a look of disappointment or something worse on her face.

Stacy was about to respond when Cillian's phone chimed. Checking the message, she told Stacy "Stacy, I have to go. They need me in the office."She packed her things and headed out in a hurry.

"Okay by-". Before Stacy could finish her sentence, Cillian had sprinted out of the door leaving traces of her wet shoes on the wooden floor of the Cafê and the bell dinged on her exiting.

This took me some time to write. I hope you enjoyed it :)!
