Chapter 32: Draco Malfoy's Journey to Hogwarts (Part 1)

"Hello, everyone. My name is Draco Malfoy, and I'm 11 years old this year. I believe that as long as you're not a lowly mudblood, upon hearing my name, you'd think of a certain something. That's right! I, Draco, am a member of the noble Malfoy family!"

"My father is Lucius Malfoy, the current head of the Malfoy family. Which means, I, in the future, will inherit the position of family head!"

"My mother is Narcissa Malfoy, hailing from the ancient and noble House of Black. Although the Black family has mostly faded away, with its sole heir currently stuck in Azkaban being tended to by Dementors, never to return alive, this doesn't diminish the nobility of the Black bloodline!"

"Therefore, I, Draco, inherit both the noble bloodlines of the Malfoy and Black families! When I realized this, I felt immensely proud and constantly demand strictness from myself, never relaxing, just like now!"

"Get lost, you filthy mudblood!"

Draco sneered disdainfully as he watched a lone wizard pushing a cart of luggage away.

He could tell at a glance that the person was a mudblood from a Muggle family, emanating a scent of lowliness. He wouldn't allow such a person to come near him and dirty the new robes he had specially put on today!

"What's wrong, dear? Did someone upset you?" Narcissa asked, looking down at her son. She felt extremely proud of Draco, considering him a truly outstanding aristocrat.

"It's a mudblood. He actually tried to get within 5 meters of me. Unforgivable! Mother, why would Hogwarts allow these lowly mudbloods to enroll? It's absurd!" Draco scanned the young wizards in the station with disgust.

He was currently at Platform Nine and Three-Quarters at King's Cross Station in London. Today marked his first day heading to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he would board the Hogwarts Express.

"Because Dumbledore favors Muggles," Lucius said, retracting his gaze wandering around and looking at his son.

"It'll get better once you enter Slytherin House; Slytherin never admits mudbloods."

"Darling, you've been looking around since earlier. Are you looking for someone?" Narcissa asked her husband, puzzled.

"I'm looking for Crabbe and Goyle. We agreed to meet here at half past ten. I also wanted to see if I could find Harry Potter."

Draco knew about Harry Potter.

As a pure-blood wizard, Draco practically grew up hearing Harry Potter's name. Though he didn't know how Harry managed to defeat the Dark Lord as a newborn, he was certain that Harry also possessed noble blood, perhaps even blood that could rival his own! Only that could explain everything Harry had achieved.

"Draco, remember to make friends with Harry Potter," Lucius once again advised his son.

"Don't worry, Dad."

Unlike other lowly wizards, as a noble pure-blood and as the heir of the Malfoy family, Draco had a daunting task ahead of him at Hogwarts.

He had two tasks: first, befriend Harry Potter; second, befriend Bellatrix Minashel.

For the first task, Draco was confident. He believed that no one would refuse the friendship of the great, noble Malfoy family. He and Harry would surely become close friends.

As for the second task, Draco wasn't as fond of it. It wasn't because he thought it would be difficult. As mentioned earlier, no one would refuse the friendship of the Malfoy family, so this task was also effortless in Draco's eyes.

The problem was, why should he, as noble as he was, actively seek to befriend someone he had only occasionally heard of but never met? So Draco was not pleased.

Draco knew the Minashel family, said to be another pure-blood family, though not as noble as the Malfoy family. It was because of the rapid development of the Minashel family in recent years that his father wanted him to befriend the heir of the Minashel family.

Draco didn't like Bell Minashel, even though he hadn't met him. He just didn't like him. Because he had heard others say that Bell rarely attended various noble banquets, so he thought Bell must not be outstanding enough, hence why his father never brought him to these events.

As outstanding as he was, his father Lucius often took him to various banquets.

Soon, Crabbe and Goyle arrived, each with their own sons. Little Crabbe and Little Goyle were the same age as Draco, also 11 years old. So the three of them were this year's Hogwarts freshmen.

Looking at the two chubby boys in front of him exuding foolishness, Draco sighed inwardly with resignation.

Since he was very young, Draco had known Crabbe and Goyle. After spending a long time with them, Draco realized a fact deeply: 'Crabbe and Goyle are really dumb, beyond redemption.' So if there was a choice, Draco really didn't want to be with these two idiots.

But unfortunately, talent is the most lacking thing in the 20th century! So even though he was very dissatisfied, based on the principle that something is better than nothing, Draco could only reluctantly accept it.

Soon it was close to the departure time of 11 o'clock, and Lucius couldn't find Harry Potter in the end. But Draco didn't care. With only a few hundred people on the entire train, once everyone was on board, it wouldn't take long to find Harry, car by car.

As expected, just as Draco had anticipated, he found Harry with Crabbe and Goyle in no time.

What Draco didn't expect was that he had already met Harry before. It was more than a month ago, to celebrate his enrollment in Hogwarts, his mother Narcissa took him to Diagon Alley for shopping and sightseeing. In Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, he met another Hogwarts freshman buying robes and chatted with him for a few moments.

Draco never expected that the young wizard he met back then was Harry Potter! It seemed that they were really destined to meet.

"With the wonderful encounter we had before, our future interaction will surely go smoothly."

Draco thought happily, until he turned his gaze to the opposite side of Harry.

No one could imagine what he saw!

Red hair, freckled face, exuding foolishness comparable to the laughter behind him, it turned out to be a Weasley! The disgrace of the pure-blood, the laughingstock of wizards!

Draco felt a heavy burden on his shoulders. He must keep Harry, who was not yet familiar with the magical world, away from the Weasleys.

"If you become familiar with the magical world, you'll soon realize that some wizarding families are much better than others. You wouldn't want to be friends with the wrong kind of people. I can help you with that."

"No need, I think I can tell who's the wrong kind of people. Thanks anyway."

Harry flatly rejected Draco Malfoy's proposal.

Ever since they met at Diagon Alley, he had disliked Draco's words and attitude. Now, this person dared to slander his newly made friend. This was his first friend in his life!

They were digging their own graves!
