Chapter 6: Mythology

R3D: For round 17, number 1 and number 12, in 5 minutes please be in Building 3 ready to battle.

Gabriel: Finally, getting this first level 1 over with I can go investigate the tournament without worry.

Aodh: You still have to win your match first.

Gabriel: Trust, I'd win.

GR33N: In level 1, round 17 of 50, we have number 1, from Marseille, France, Gabriel Clèment!

R3D: Against number 12, from Toronto, Canada, Ava Grant.

GR33N: Challengers get ready, 3!

R3D: 2.

GR33N: 1!

R3D: Go...

GR33N: Go!

Ava points her glowing assault rifle in the air and pulls the trigger. Just then her body begins to change and she turns into a giant muscular beast twice the size of Gabriel. It was at this moment Gabriel knew this battle will be much more than he's ready for. Outside of the match in Building 1 Aodh and Mellan are talking.

Mellan: Here, take this. If you ever encounter number 100 press this button.

Aodh: How did you make this?

Mellan: Found some broken down B.0.T.s in Building 0 and used them to make this. You only have 1 shot with it so make it count.

Aodh: Alright. Anyways, we should go talk to Ali, he seems to know more about this tournament than we do.

Mellan: Think he might a connection with it or number 100?

Aodh: Maybe but no way of knowing unless we ask him. To Building 0 we go.

They encounter Ali standing outside of room 18 smoking a cigarette.

Mellan: Hey Ali, mind if we ask you something?

Ali: Sure, I'll answer best I can.

Mellan: What do you know about this tournament exactly?

Ali: Well I am a mythologist and before I came here I was researching about this tournament. When I suddenly found myself here after feeling a compulsion to come to France I knew it was true. I had found a stone tablet which read, "Once a century, the world brings down a chance for one's deepest desires to be met. All they must do is shoot each other down in the Guns Blazing bet."

Aodh: How long ago was this first founded? Guns are the main form of combat and its ran by robots.

Ali: Don't know. My working theory is the 10th century, though the basic information of the tournament is dumped into your brain once someone touches the stone so it could be why guns were created. It's very supernatural so I don't think I can apply logic to it. Anything else?

Aodh: not really. Thank you though.

Ali: No problem, if you need help with anything just ask.
