Chapter 5: Operation Cryptid Hunt

Gabriel leaves his room at the same time Aodh and Mellan arrive back from Building 1.

Aodh: Perfect, we wanted to talk with you.

Gabriel: Sure. What you guys wanna talk about?

Mellan: Asking for you help with a little "Investigation".

Gabriel: Investigation?

Aodh: You weren't watching but there was something about one of the recent rounds, specifically about challenger number 100.

Mellan: When they announced his name the B.0.T.s started glitching out, and he had ripped his opponent's eye out of his head.

Aodh: We learned of a legend of a man from the U.K. who supposedly eats people to gain power. He wore a gray scrub jacket and had grappling hooks attached to his arms he used to hunt down his prey, just like number 100.

Gabriel: Okay, what do you need me for?

Aodh: You're number 1 because you where the one to start the tournament so we think because he's number 100 he's also important in a way.

Mellan: We wanna stop him, save the world type stuff, so the more people helping the better. But first we got to confirm if that really is the same man from the legend.

Aodh: So we're gonna be Investigating both the tournament and number 100. Gotta be a small group so he doesn't figure out what we're doing.

Gabriel: Alright, I'm in. I am kinda wondering why this is all happening.

Mellan: Welcome to Operation Cryptid Hunt!

Aodh: We're not calling it that.

Mellan: But we're basically hunting down number 100 who we believe to be a man from a legend who is a cryptid so Operation Cryptid Hunt.

Gabriel: I like it, makes this seem more interesting.

Aodh: Fine, I still find it dumb.

Mellan: Don't care didn't ask Operation Cryptid Hunt is a go!

Kira walks into the room battered and bruised and she sits on the couch.

Gabriel: What happened to you?

Kira: Just finished my match, the guy I was fighting could shoot giant fist out of a cannon. You really should seen it. What you guys doing huddling up on the floor for?

Mellan: Nothing, just I game I really want to play after this tournament is over.

Kira: Cool, I don't really like them that much but I heard Jae likes video games too so you guys can talk about that. Anyways I'm going to sleep.

Gabriel: Okay I'm gonna go watch the next couple of rounds, see ya later.
