Chapter 2: Phantom

The leader smirk in excitement. "Don't worry about those useless buggers there just there as decoy. I let them think we're attacking them from the left.

"Sir, team red is on their right flank." reported his second in command, Wolf_LT66

"Everything is going exactly as plan." but Unknown the leader there was a green dot that was pointed on the back of his head. One of his gang member saw the dot on his head and he almost scream his head off. If he was correct about the rumour he had heard on Reddit, that was the death sign from the Phantom.

"Umm...S-Sir" the solider started to shake as he hesitated to speak

"What is it?" He took a look at the person's name. "Wolf_Xray9?" He turn around to face his gang member

"I-it t-that...emm"

"What! Speak up!" Demanded the leader. The soldier's face was the the stat of fear almost he had saw something scary, if not out right traumatic.

"ITS THE PHANTOM! HE HAD MARKED YOU FOR DEATH!!!" He hysterically shouted. Everyone who heard Xray's shouting started to laugh, hard.

HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

"HA! HA! HA! Are you trying to play us lad?" Asked the leader. "The Phantom is gone, never to be seen again" But a green light flash his face but it moved down and pointed towards his chest. suddenly he felt something on the back of his back and his health bar immediately reach zero. He looked down to see that there was a hole in his chest, his body dropped down to the floor and then his body shattered into a bunch of red crystals. The other members of the gang watch in both fear and surprise as their so call top ranked player had died ring in front of them.

"SNIPER!" Shouted a player. "Take cover, NOW"

"SEE IT HIM" Xray shouted

"It can't be! It's probably a sniper from the other group. It can't possibly be him." Soon after he finished speaking, a green dot aimed at his head and got shot and shattered to a thousand red pieces.

"XDRanger17 had died!" Shouted a player

"What the fuck?! I can't even see the bullet line! I could only see the laser dot!" He shouted. "Dose this mean it's actually him?"

"Bullshit, He's just a urban myth!" shouted LT.

"Then explain everything we're witnessing! The green dot! No bullet lines! And a top ranked player DIED!" But then a green dot aimed at Xray's head and seconds later his head shattered off and his body dropped to its knees and later shattered into a red crystal.

"Fire everywhere! He has to be close!" The entire team started to fire their AK-47 at the sandy hills whiles the snipers desperately zoomed their scope or their binoculars and scouted the area to find the Phantom but many how got a glance of the phantom was meet with a 8.59mm to the head.

"Contact all members to retreat! NOW!" Shouted LT "We have a code red! I repeat CODE RED!"

{With Ashton}

*RATATATATATATATA*

"Ashton! How long are we planning to fight for?!" Asked Joe

"Until it's over!" He replied

"Your a crazy man, Ashton" she coldly replied. "But that the reason why I join this party." Ashton gave a little smile and continued to fire his laser gun at the enemy. He then got his comms and called William,

"William what your status?"

"Still in on piece Sir. It look like they're retreating...Hold on a sec." William shot one shot and injured on enemy player on the floor, the shot tore off his left leg. "Sir I got a prisoner for you"

"Excellent, bring him back here alive." Ordered Ashton.

"Roger." William walked up to the poor bastard on the floor and approach him. as William got closer to the the guy he was panicking and it's a bit too uncomfortable to see considering the Wolves has a high reputation to show no fear.

"You know you making a bad mistake!" He cried "I'am part of the Wolves god dam it"

"Shut up!" William picked him up and carried him to his Captain.

*BOOM*

"What the hell was that?!" William asked himself

"That our outpost over there! Did your squad done this!" He angrily answered

"No...none of us carry any explosive" William Took out his comm and radioed Ashton, "Boss we got a situation."

The Ashton and his gang walked up to the location of where the explosion had occurred to investigate what had happened. Once they got there they are met with a destructive atmosphere. So many loot was lying every where and is that a person by himself. Ashton could not believe his eyes upon seeing the mysterious figure in the distance. It had a black net mask that covered its entire face and it wore a Black Chaos outfit and a Sniper rifle with a suppressor on it,

"Could it be?" This was the question that popped up on everyone's mind. The figure move its head and turned to the group, everyone readied themselves by pointing their weapons to the figure.

"Is that the Phantom?!" Rachel,(a gang member), asked

"Holy shit it is!" Joe said " I got to screen shot this

Charlie could not believe it. So many if not all of his friends is still alive after the attack from the Wolves. He spotted most of them were equipped with optical weapons. But he could also see a Wolf gang member is with them, possibly a rookie. He raise his rifle and aimed at the poor guy's face.

*THOOSH*

Charlie shot he guy the face, he dropped to the ground and shattered in to a red crystal.

Ashton's gang watch as their captured prisoner was killed In front of them. They just witnessed The Phantom kill someone but will they live to tell the tale. The phantom started to advance forward to the group. Petrified, William fired a burst of round to the phantom, he did not want to get killed by the phantom especially if this is a game.

*RATATATATATATA*

"Due what the fuck are you doing?! STOP FIRING YOU DUMBASS!" Angrily order Ashton. All the round miss but after a few more seconds of firing on shot skimmed the Phantom right cheek.

"I....hit him?"

The phantom felt his right cheek in response for a brief moment and took out his red energy sword and dash forward in a inhuman speed.

"Squad open fire at the phantom!" Ordered Ashton.

"We're screwed because of you" said one of the gang member. The Phantom dash quickly, dogging and blocking all the rounds that was flying towards him. William aim at the phantom but he blocked all the shot with his sword. The phantom took cover behind a rock and the gang light the rock up with their guns.

"He's cornered!" Shouted William joyfully. But a familiar voice echoed through the air.

"CEASE FIRE! ASHTOOON!"

Ashton holds up his fist, signalling everyone to cease fire. "CEASE FIRE!" All guns went silent after the order but William is not happy.

"Why did we stop?!" He asked. The phantom got out of his cover and to everyone's surprise he raise his hands up in the air. He had surrendered.

"Is this real?" Asked a gang member

"I have to screen shot this" said Joe.

The phantom walked forward to the gang with his hands up. Ashton order Joe to restrain him and bring the phantom forward. Ashton felt a slight joy but something felt odd. This player supposedly said to be a skilled player, who has the capability to hunt and kill every top ranked player in every single sever but he just gave up to a gang of average players, it did not make any sense at all.

"Ashton, you're an absolute dick." The Phantom coldly said. This astonished everyone gang member present there.

"How the actual fuck did you know my name?!" He asked.

"Take off the mask." The Phantom said. Everyone was stunned by that whole sentence.

"Did he just told us to take of his mask." Someone asked in surprise. The phantom turned to Joe.

"Joesi do the honour please." He said in confidence. Joe was taken back by the sentence, she thought he was dreaming but it was so real. how did he know her, Joe then looked at Ashton with a surprise eyes.

"What are you waiting for take it off" both said The Phantom and Ashton.

Joe gave out a little screech, "thank you! Thank you! Thank you" she cried. She took of the mask of the phantoms face to reveal the phantom's face. She was taken back, she can't even blink nor could say a word. Ashton face was filled with both shock and surprise.

"Sup Gang! How's everything when I was gone." He spoken. "I got your message Ashton but I didn't expect you would tried to kill me

"CHARLIE!"

"The one and only" He said sarcastically.

{SBC Glocken- Joe's room}

"You have a lot of explaining to do mate"

Joe told in front of Charlie with their arms cross. They wanted to know everything about Charlie but Charlie refuses to tell them anything.

"Come on Charlie at least tell us, why you chosen to be The Phantom." Joe asked Charlie desperately as if her life depends on it.

"Oh, I could answer that" he replied

"Really!" he eyes lit up as Charlie agreed to answer. She had a little day dream of her in the MMO stream taking about how she knows the secrets of the phantom "Why." she asked

"That is because I was bored" she replied.

Joe face was filled with surprise, 'there no way he became the phantom because he was bored there had to be a better explanation' "What! Is that all" she asked.

"No! Of course not! That's half of the reason"

"Oh...thank god, if that was the case then it wouldn't make a good story for my blog"

"NO! No blogging! I swear to god if you expose my identity I will hunt you down to the ends of the earth." Joe his behind the bed as. As she peek behind the bed her face was filled with fear.

"You're so scary!"

"Uuuhhhh! Let's go to the bar, drinks on me. Consider it a date."

"A what?!" Joe hold her face and cripple to the floor her facial expressions is somewhere between happiness and embarrassment, her face turned bright red like a tomato.

"Just kidding." Charlie said.

It was getting late and the gang decided to go to the bar in the Glocken. William was there attempting to flirt with some girls, while Duncan attempts to get closer to Joe. Meanwhile Ashton and Charlie was in the front of the room drinking their virtual beer. next the gang got together and cheered for Charlie for saving them from the Wolves,(as well as the the fact that they have one of the most dangerous player on their gang.)

"Hahaha! To Phantom" shouted Ashton how was toasting his glass.

"To Phantom!" Cried everyone as they raise their glass, this made Charlie blush in embarrassment. Charlie was in his Scout outfit so he would not attract too much attention to the group, he was looking around and to no surprise he could wishing and gossiping about him, or more specifically The Phantom.

The tv was on, it was MMO stream, this is show where they invited the top ranked player for an interview on a specific game, looks like this week is about GGO.

The live-stream was being commentated by a player that was dressed like a cat-girl. Standing next to her, was a Ginger haired man, dressed in grey and red armor and sunglasses, and a black-haired man that had a red mohawk, who was dressed in a black and blue bodysuit and a black cloak. These were the top players, JeSuS_kun (the Ginger one) and Yamikaze (the red one).

"Hey, I'm just saying that if 'Agility' is the only stat that matters sounds ridiculous! True, dodging and firing-speed are important, but that's all in the past! I'm gonna be honest with the people who spent all their time trying to boost their 'Agility': Sucks to be you!"

"Who the fuck is this clown" asked Ashton with a disappointing tone.

"That guy is JeSuS_kun his apparently the top GGO player." Explained Charlie. " I Met him once during my time in the Japanese server, he was a fucking prick so I killed him.....many times over until he denied my entire existence"

"Well he don't look so tough. A Man with big ego is a big coward." Joe stated

"As expected from the top player of Gun Gale Online." Said the interviewer

"Well, I only get one chance to be on MMO-Stream..."

"So, aren't you aiming for the next Bullet of Bullets?" she asked

"Of course! I plan on proving myself to be GGO's top player - "

"Jesus-san, do you honestly believe that you, someone who depends on status-type and has rare equipment, can call yourself GGO's top player? "

"Oh my god finally someone who understands". shouted Ashton

"Charlie what are you doing" asked Duncan

"Watch me"

"Because we all know that only the Phantom is deserved to be called the - "

JeSuS had then started to laugh,

"How fucking typical." Charlie said

"Wow. Just, wow, Yamikaze-san! I didn't expect you, of all people, to believe in urban-legends. And besides, we all know that you're an 'Agility'-Type, so don't try and deny it."

He then stood up, and proclaimed,

"True, the only strategy that you needed was to raise your 'Agility', and then fire a powerful physical weapon as fast as you can. But, MMOs are changing all the time, meaning that you can't reevaluate your stats, so you gotta be smart, and think a few steps ahead."

"This guy is pissing me off really hard now." Charlie took out his pistol out and cocked it.

"Bastard has a huge ego so I thing he should DIE" Charlie shot a bullet to the TV screen. "Consider yourself Death gunned! haha!" He joked. Everyone into the bar just stared at Charlie.

"What? Was my joke that bad" he sarcastically asked. Suddenly everyone started laughing.

But, that was when the others noticed something weird had started to happen to JeSuS.

The player looked like he was choking on something, as he clutched his chest and stumbled back, his avatar immediately disappearing in green light. Both Yamikaze and the commentator was confused to see that happen but the commentator had shrugged it off, believing that the man had lost connection with them. Even though it could've been just that, those inside the bar was shocked to see that happen, and looked at Charlie.

"What the fuck just happened?" Ashton asked.

Suddenly the light and TV started to flash and flicker until there was a shot blackout. The TV turned on and on that tv was a man how had a metal masked in a hood. The strange man was new virtual killer out of the blue but other people mistake him as,

"Death gun?"

Then he spoke, the voice was masculine, yet it was also deep-pitched, it was intimidating.

" You think it all over. Don't you.... You think You're free from judgment?!....You can't escape judgement....This is TRUE POWER! if you don't know me then remember this name...remember it well. The name that this gun and I share - THE INQUISITOR! AND I'AM THE TRUE JUDGEMENT!!"

After he speech made by the mad himself, Charlie and the gang was left stunned no one could say a word.

Then on the tv was a message it was in a crimson red Halloweeny font,

'Anyone who wishes to challenge judgement is a dead man.' There was another blackout and as the power reset Charlie receive a message. Charlie did relies this and check on the message on menu. As he found the message his eyes widen to see it was a message from The Inquisitor

'Häyhä. Let's settle this once and for all. Before the coffin starts laughing at us'

That final line on that sentence echoed through Charlie's head as he had flashbacks after flashback of that time. The time he was in Sword Art Online.

Ashton relies Charlie was in a dazed he went up to Charlie to ask what is going on.

"Hey Charlie, you're spacing out what's going on?" He asked.

"The inquisitor he messaged me" the gang was in shock.

"What but why you!" Shouted William.

"I...I think he's someone I know...a long time ago." The gang turn their eyes to Charlie, every single one of them felt betrayed. This person who they called friend has more mysterious than god himself and the questions they all re-asked them self.
