Yan Xia felt wronged. "Then you could've just not come back."
Jiang Huai ignored her. Instead, he threw a morning-after pill in front of her.
"Since I'm back, I'd better see you take this medicine with my own eyes."
Yan Xia looked at the medicine in disbelief. She had just seen a doctor because of her stomach problem, but he still did not let her go.
Yan Xia's heart sank. "What's the use of these medicines? I won't get pregnant anyway!" she could not help but say.
Jiang Huai looked at her coldly. "What do you mean?"
Yan Xia's eyes turned red. "I said I'll never get pregnant again!"
Jiang Huai was burning with rage. He completely forgot how weak the person in front of him was and dragged her out of the door.
"What are you doing?" Yan Xia panicked.
"To the hospital. You'd better pray that what you say is true, or you know how serious the consequences will be."
Jiang Huai's grip on Yan Xia's wrist hurt, but it couldn't compare to the pain in her heart.
Yan Xia heaved a sigh of relief when he finally found out. They did not have to torture each other anymore. At most, she could just sign a divorce agreement and live a carefree life!
The cold ultrasound machine touched Yan Xia's body and she shivered. However, she was calm, and for the first time, she did not reject the examination.
In the past, she had always been worried that if the Jiang family found out that she could no longer get pregnant, it would disappoint her mother and cause her to lose everything she had now.
Now, she hoped that the divorce agreement would be in front of her, so that she could have a break from her three years of life.
Jiang Huai looked at the report in his hand.
"Why is it like this?"
"Mrs. Jiang had an abortion three years ago. She wasn't well at the time, and she was allergic to a lot of drugs, so she won't be able to get pregnant again."
When Jiang Huai heard the doctor's words, it was as if the clear sky had exploded. He suddenly felt humiliated.
Outside, a bolt of lightning flashed, and heavy rain fell.
"Also, Mrs. Jiang is allergic to birth control pills," the doctor continued.
Allergic?
What else was she hiding from him?
Jiang Huai kicked the door open with a loud bang.
Yan Xia was even more afraid when she saw the angry person in front of her. Her first reaction was to hide herself under the blanket.
She clutched onto the blanket tightly and refused to let go no matter how much Jiang Huai pulled on it.
"Let go!"
"No!"
However, it was no use. How could she be stronger than Jiang Huai?
The blanket was pulled down and she was exposed to Jiang Huai's gaze. She couldn't help but shiver.
"Don't hit me."
Jiang Huai was speechless.
When had he ever hit her in the three years they had been married? What kind of person had she imagined him to be?!
Jiang Huai suppressed his anger and tried his best to sound gentle. "When did you know that you couldn't get pregnant anymore? "
Yan Xia bit her lower lip and did not dare to speak. She looked at him with her dark eyes and finally lowered her head sadly.
"Speak!" Jiang Huai had never been patient with her silence.
Yan Xia took a deep breath, as if she had made a big decision. She was ready to lay her cards on the table.
"I already knew when I miscarried the child."
Jiang Huai tried his best to control his voice, but it still sounded like a roar. "Why didn't you say so! What else are you hiding from me?! You've really gone to all lengths to get into my Jiang family!"
Tears welled up in Yan Xia's eyes, but she held them back.
She was clearly the one who was injured. How could he blame her so easily?
However, she only calmed down and looked at him. "I'm sorry."
Jiang Huai felt something stir in his heart and couldn't help but feel a little guilty.
He let out a breath, which was a compromise for this matter. "We're going home."
Although he tried his best to control himself, his words still sounded stiff, and even the way he held Yan Xia's hand was rough.
He stuffed Yan Xia into the passenger seat as if he was throwing something away.
The car sped along the highway, and the only sound in the car was the sound of the heavy rain hitting the car.
The two of them were silent. One was afraid, and the other was angry.
