The small market that Madam Kong was talking about was an everyday market that was set up around the afternoon and stopped functioning around the night. The entire market was filled with small stalls which were propped here and there.
Some had a sheet of cloth propped on four sticks while the others were proper wooden stalls. The entire market was filled with the shouts of the hawkers.
"Come one, come all! Take a look at these wooden antiques! I fetched them from the East Coast! Only two taels per piece!"
"A bowl of beef noodles! Come and taste it, you will certainly not regret it."
"Masters and madam come and look at these small puppies. They are purebred, and will protect your children and house once they grow up."
Yu Dong looked around the crowd while holding Yu Mai in her arms.

"That's a parrot."

"It's a crockery pot. It is used for cooking."
