Between Jessica and Rey

Jessica was just silent while gazing far out the window. The cold night wind seemed to pierce her bones. The girl tightened her grip on the blanket covering her body.

"Well, it's raining. Our date failed." Lusi muttered as she pulled Rey to sit in the lounge near the pool.

Jessica just smiled faintly at the girl's words. She was still busy watching the raindrops falling on the pool which was visible from the window.

"Vera, bring the snacks here!" Kevin screamed so loudly, Jessica reflexively covered her ears with her hands.

"Damn, my ears hurt, Vin!" rage Lucy.

Jessica immediately took a deep breath to hear the debate between Lusi and Kevin. Gone was the restful night of hers. There are so many rooms in this shared house, why did they have to come here and ruin the weekend?

"Here you go!" Vera shouted while carrying a super large bowl filled with freshly cooked warm meatballs.

"Which sauce?" said Kevin who had taken over the bowl containing the meatballs from Vera.

"Take it from the kitchen, over there! When I've already made this, I'm also the one who goes back and forth to get the sauce? There's no thank you!" Vera grumbled.

Without saying anything, Kevin immediately ran to the kitchen to get a bottle of sauce.

"Kevin look so happy!" William commented when he passed Kevin.

"Vera makes meatballs!"

Without wanting to linger, Kevin immediately left William. And without realizing it, William also immediately followed the man into the lounge.

Vera, who was busy watching drama on her cellphone, immediately caught William's attention.

"What are you watching, anyway?"

"This is a Korean drama that is booming. So this is an affair drama, you know. A wife who is injured because her husband is cheating on her with her friend."

Both Jessica and Rey immediately glanced at Vera.

"Oh, the actress is really pretty, right?" said Kevin.

"Yes! It's crazy, they are very beautiful, the actress and actor!" said Vera with burning eyes.

"You know! Even though in this world, there are still many handsome men like me. Why do beautiful women love and are crazy because of the actors?!" Kevin shook his head lamenting the fate of the small singles who were swayed by men who had wives, or had girlfriends like that dramas.

"Maybe it's because the bastard is such a pro, that even beautiful women go crazy over it," said Lucy.

Jessica smiled at Lusi's words. Does the girl not realize, that indirectly, she is also a girl who falls in love with a man who has a fiancé?

"Lusi, if Rey had a girlfriend, would you like him or not?" asked Jessica deliberately.

Rey, who was right beside Lusi, immediately glared at Jessica. That satire is right on target.

"It's hard to imagine because I am Rey's first girlfriend. But, if he already has a girlfriend, then I don't want to! Crazy, I'm too valuable to be just an affair."

Jessica smiled with satisfaction, while Rey was silent without taking his eyes off Jessica.

"So, if it was Rey who cheated on you, what would you do?" asked Jessica again.

"If he cheated on me? Hum, what is it? I hit him, then I cursed out loud, only after that, I broke up with him!"

Precisely. Jessica should also do the same thing. Rey deserves it. Too bad, their breakup was not so dramatic.

"See, listen Rey! Your girlfriend is fierce, don't let you cheat!" quipped Jessica.

"Don't worry! Rey loves me, he won't glance at other women!" interrupted Lucy.

Vera feels that there is something strange between Rey and Jessica. What is their real relationship? If not siblings, bodyguards, and ex-girlfriends, then what?

"Don't be too sure, just keep an eye on, who knows when you sleep, he's still making out with other women!"

Everyone was silent hearing the warning from Jessica. To their knowledge, Jessica was not someone who could think of something as bad as that. The girl was always prejudiced against anything and anyone.

And suddenly she said something bad like that? Isn't that too weird?

"What's wrong, Jess? After being cheated on?" said William which immediately invited a big question mark for the guys in the shared house.

Aware of being the center of attention, Jessica immediately laughed softly.

"No, not me. So, my co-worker was cheated on by his fiancé. I'm so sorry, I'm getting frustrated. That's why I just remind women to be more careful when in a relationship, don't trust your partner too much."

Luckily, Jessica was able to answer William's question correctly. It would be very shocking if she said that Rey had been cheating on her behind her back with Lusi.

"Think you're the one who's been cheated on, your expression is soulful. Well, don't worry, Rey is a good person, and you know that, right? He wouldn't have the heart to betray me!" exclaimed Lusi confidently.

And that made Jessica feel sorry for her even more. If only she knew what was going on. What will she do?

"The friend I told you about, has been engaged since childhood to her fiancé, and the evidence is that her fiancé can cheat. And you? Your relationship was not long ago." Jessica said.

Lusi immediately fell silent for a thousand words hearing Jessica's story.

"That means your friend's fiancé is an asshole! There's no arguing! He's an asshole to the core!" said Vera.

Jessica immediately burst out laughing when she heard Vera's words. He wondered in his heart. What's on Rey's mind right now?

"Guys, where are these meatballs? Why isn't it in the bowl?" William looked around for the warm meatballs he had been waiting for a long time.

"Damn Kevin!" Vera screamed in annoyance as she realized that the meatballs in the bowl had disappeared, while Kevin's mouth was still full of meatballs.

"You are outrageous, Vin! I haven't tested it yet, you bastard!" snapped William in annoyance.

Kevin smiled widely, he then patted his stomach full.

And as usual, the three careless creatures bickered like children blaming each other.

Until they one by one left the room because it was getting late. Only Jessica and Rey were left there.

Jessica was still silent watching the rain, while Rey was silent watching Jessica.

"Why are you quipping like that?" Rey asked quietly.

Jessica didn't answer and just smiled faintly in response to Rey's question.

"If you want to dismantle everything, then just take it apart. I'll accept it, I'll consider it as penance."

Jessica's eyes heated up, and her hands clenched tightly at Rey's words.

Penance? Isn't that too light?

"When you love someone, and she betrays you, then I'll think you've made up for your mistakes!"

After saying that, Jessica left the room, and went to her room.
