The manager

Lliw left Jane and Mrs Fuise in Mrs Fuise's office and headed to his Dorm for a shower before going to the museum.

His Dorm buddies were eager for more gossip on Jane but he ignored them. Speaking of which, he was quite certain that they were the ones who framed him with the letter.

Arriving at the museum, Lliw was told by the security guard that the Branch manager had requested that he go see her when he arrived.

He already knew why she wanted to see him.

"Come in "

A gentle voice invited Lliw into the office. He gathered himself before entering.

The young woman inside was working on some papers but she put them aside when she that it was Lliw.

" I'm glad you're on time today" She said while motioning for him to take a seat.

"It's not like I'm perpetually late" Lliw protested with a blush. Although not always, it was true that he was late most of the time.

"Hehe" Seeing his protest, she just smiled lightly.

"Alright, spill" she said, changing the topic.

"Spill what?" Lliw knew what she was talking about but still pretended he didn't.

"Are you really going to be like that?" She asked with a smile that wasn't a smile.

"Ok,ok. I'll tell you" he waved his hands in resignation when he saw her expression.

He told her of his first encounter with Jane right up until the time in class.

"Hahaha" by the time he finished, the young woman was already bursting with laughter.

"..."

Lliw watched her with a dissatisfied expression on his face. However, he wasn't really upset. For one, he also found the whole thing to be quite funny when he retold it and also, she was just too beautiful when she was laughing.

"Ok. So you think that she's there to take revenge on you for the letter?" She asked.

"Am I wrong?" Lliw asked her. He felt his conjecture was correct.

"Alright, how about this, why don't you just let her do whatever she wants and see where she wants to go with this." She suggested.

"..." Lliw struggled to come to a decision.

" You want to just avoid her isn't it?" She said what was in his mind.

"Isn't that the smarter thing to do here? She's a lot of trouble. I can feel it" he argued.

" You idiot! Don't you see, if you play your cards right, you can probably get her to be your girlfriend" The young woman looked at Lliw like he were an idiot.

" No. That's not possible" Lliw flat out denied her suggestion.

"Why not?" She asked, baffled at his response.

" Well, I've got a lot on my plate right now and I don't think I have time for a girlfriend...besides.." He said with a wry smile but didn't finish his sentence.

" Besides, she's way above out of your league right? That's what you were going to say isn't it?" She said flatly.

"Mm" Lliw nodded in affirmation.

"Sigh... I thought you saw past such mundane things like social class" She sighed disappointedly.

"I-I do. It's just, I can't bring myself to accept that someone like her would ever... date someone like me." He said, his voice growing fainter.

"... How about just being friends then? Do you think you'd be worthy of her friendship?" She asked him.

"Of course!" Lliw said confidently." However, I don't think she and I can be friends"

" Why not?" She asked .

" I just... Don't like her personality" He said with a shrug.

"Then, can't you just show her that her ways are wrong? I mean wouldn't that be better?" She asked.

" You're right! " He exclaimed as if he suddenly discovered a new continent.

"..." She held back the urge to slap him across the room. This guy was just too ridiculous sometimes.

"Yeah. That's possible but I'm not going to take the initiative to communicate with her. I've got too much to do." He said.

" Well, if you bring her here and ask for some time to spend with her, I can let you come as late as you want." She said with a crafty smile.

" Really?!" He exclaimed in excitement but the he sombered down.

" No. I don't want to cheat. I'll complete my sentence honestly" he said.

Hearing his words, her hand moved on her own to slap him but she stopped her self just in time. She gently pat his head.

" Can you not make it sound like we're keeping you prisoner here." She said exasperatingly.

"And can you not treat me like a child, I'm only a few years younger than you" he said but made no effort to remove her hand from his head. He liked it.

" Hehe, you're still younger nonetheless" she teased him

"Sigh..right. you will become a wrinkly, sag-" he was about to retort when the gentle hand on his head turned into an evil claw and pinched his ears.

" Get out" she spat with an angry expression.

"Hehe" he laughed" take care, grandma" he said after escaping her hand.

"Ugh" she grunted in dissatisfaction as he left.

" Damn bastard" she laughed.
