The karaoke

Lliw walked into a dimly-lit medium-sized room, behind him were 4 girls.

There was an extremely large screen mounted on the wall and a computer mounted next to it.

There were no chairs in the room, just a long black leather couch that was in the shape of a crescent.

As soon as they entered, Kim went to the computer and started fiddling with it.

Jane and Fenghua sat themselves on the right side of the crescent while Denise sat in the left, holding space for Kim.

Lliw had no choice but to sit in the middle of them.

He ended up coming along with them because Fenghua informed him that she wanted to talk to him about something important and that it was related to Guardian sanctuary.

He wasn't one to hold grudges so his annoyance at Jane for meddling with his personal life had mostly dissipated.

" Alright, I'll go first" Kim volunteered. She picked up a microphone off the stand and started the song.

She was nervous but she was even more excited.

All the other times, it was just her and Denise whenever they went out but this time there were 3 other people.

She was quite happy.

Her voice was pleasant but it was apparent that she couldn't sing.

Her control over her voice was terrible. She blushed but still persistently sang at the top of her lungs.

She wasn't here to win some singing contest, she was just here to have fun.

But it was her lively performance that brought Lliw out of his foul mood.

Seeing her singing carefree and even doing a little dance routine now and again, Lliw laughed out loud for the first time in a long time.

The others were also clapping along and occasionally joined her during the chorus.

When her song was over, she brought the mic over to Lliw.

" how's about it, why not loosen up a little" She giggled.

"…sure" Lliw didn't want to be pretentious so he gladly accepted the mic and picked a sing from the computer.

It was " Satellite" by Starset.

Lliw's voice didn't have much power behind it nor was his control that good but he still sang decently well.

The girls couldn't sing along with him as they didn't know the song.

Lliw was very nervous but as soon as he started singing, he tossed his nervousness to the back of his head.

When he finished, the girls clapped encouragingly.

" ahem, who's next?" He asked with a blush.

" whoever you give it to is next" Kim hollered.

Seeing that everyone was on board with her idea, Lliw handed the mic over to Jane.

Jane nervously selected a song and went on stage.

A familiar tune reverberated through the room.

" Singing radio head at the top of our lungs"

" with the boom box blaring as we're falling in love"

" I got a bottle of whatever but it's getting us drunk"

It was " here's to never growing up" by Avril Lavigne.

Although Lliw didn't have much affection for Jane, he had to admit that she had a beautiful voice and she was quite good at singing.

A minute later they were all singing along.

When the song finished, Jane giddily handed the mic over to Denise.

After having so many people go up, Denise wasn't as nervous anymore.

She selected her song and began singing.

It was " Ruin my life" by Zara Larsson.

Lliw was amused that she chose this song.

Accidentally, Denise happened to be looking his way and she saw his smirk making her blush several shades darker.

" Do the dance too" Fenghua hollered.

" yeah, do it" The others pressured.

Poor Denise had to awkwardly perform those sexy moved but when being performed by her, they were just plain funny.

After her sing finished she hurriedly gave the mic to Fenghua and went back to her seat.

Lliw didn't miss the chance to tease her as she was rushing back to her seat.

Fenghua performed " one last time" by Ariana Grande.

It was the only song that came to mind.

She had a pretty good voice and she could hit those high notes excellently.

There was a mini-fridge with cold beverages which they absolutely massacred.

They took multiple turns singing and the girls even did some group songs which lliw didn't know.

They stayed in the KTV for an hour before Denise and Kim had to leave.

Now it was just Mu Fenghua and Jane.

" So, how was it?" Jane asked Lliw excitedly.

She has already forgotten all about the ill-feelings between them.

She sat close to him.

" How was what?" Lliw asked flabbergastedly.

" you know, the 'thing'" Jane winked while secretly jabbing her head towards Mu Fenghua.

Lliw still didn't know what she was talking about and the only thing that came to mind was the kiss he had shared with Mu Fenghua at old man Mu's place.

" well, it was pretty good" He said with some reminisce.

" Was it really? Describe it to me" She requested eagerly.

" W-what?! No!" He stuttered with a blush forming on his face.

Jane was bewildered at his reaction.

Why was he behaving like it was such a big deal?

" Stop being so mysterious, it's not that difficult to just tell me about it is it?" She rolled her eyes at him.

Fenghua knew what was jade was talking about and even she was baffled by Lliw's reaction.

" Well, this sort of thing… it's weird to talk about it" Lliw mumbled awkwardly.

" Geez! Can you not be so weird, it's super simple ok? Now it's either you want to tell me about it or you don't. What's with all the excuses?" Jane complained.

Lliw was also starting to get exasperated by her insistence.

Why couldn't she take a hint, how could Lliw talk about it when Fenghua was present.

Wait, it won't be so weird if Fenghua isn't present.

" Uhm Fenghua do you mind going out for a second?" Lliw requested embarrassingly.

" Ok. How long?" Fenghua agreed. She thought that maybe there was something he couldn't say in her presence.

" 2 minutes" Lliw raised 2 fingers.

Jane felt it was odd that he asked Fenghua to leave but nevertheless she was excited to find out about it.

" Alright, It's difficult to explain it so how about I show you" Lliw said in all seriousness.

" Eh? Show me?" Jane was baffled and didn't understand what Lliw meant.

" Yes, should I show you or not?" Lliw said impatiently.

" ok, ok." Jane didn't know what he was going to do but she was highly anticipating.

" Alright… here I go" Lliw inches his face closer to hers.

Seeing his actions, Jane became a little uneasy but she calmed herself and waited for him.

" Don't panic" Lliw whispered softly and after seeing her nod, he finally did it.
