Prologue

Note: This part is not all that necessary as it just about how Kyra met with her pet tiger. But you could read it if you feel like.

Kyra Darvyn POV

Taking care of my family has always been my priority.

Right now, I'm in the woods hunting for me, my mama, Katrielle and my younger sister Kiara which I'm older than with a year, yup its just us no papa.

Anytime I ask my mama where my papa is she gets sad so I stopped asking at least for the meantime.

I really want to know why my papa left us that if he's still alive, because we are neither bad people nor ugly, yup you can't call us ugly at all we are very, very, very far from that. We have fine fair olive skin, I have fiery red wavy hair and green eyes, while my sister has silver-white hair with some black in it and blue eyes while my mama has blonde hair and blue eyes. We are the definition of real beauty- face, body size, skin, height, you can mention.

We are strange and I know that, some women call us witches. My mama says that they are only jealous of our beauty and I choose to believe that. Maybe that's the reason papa left.

Sometimes I feel for Kiara because her hair color is even more strange than mine. She isn't old but her hair is silver-white with some black in it. It's beautiful but in a strange way but the villagers must gossip.

Sometimes I wonder if the women have nothing to do other than to gossip and spread trivial rumours.

I know people are wondering how someone will give birth to children that don't look like them.

We look alike in some ways but people fail to notice it because of I and my sisters distinct hair and eye color. And nobody seems to even have the color of our hair in this Kingdom. Someone's I feel out of place but mother says we are unique and again I have chosen to believe her.

Yup, wondering why a girl would go hunting. Strange right?

Everything about my family is strange.

My mama has trained I and my younger sister, to be strong and independent. She taught us how to fight and use swords arrows even ride a horse -we don't have money to buy a horse or a sword so we just rent when we need to.

She says that the world is cruel and we have to grow to be strong and independent women. So that's why I'm here hunting dinner my family.

In my Kingdom girls or ladies are not meant to hunt, fight or even ride horses. Tasks like these are meant for the young lads and men.

I've been looking for an animal to hunt for the past hour and by now I'm exhausted. I'll take anything no matter how small at this point.

"Yayy" I scream finally seeing a deer.

Idiot! now you lost it who screams while hunting

I'm not an idiot

I was looking for another game when I heard soft purring from below.

I looked down and saw a baby tiger. It was so cute. The stripes were perfect.

In this part of the Empire we have tigers around but they usually in latter part of the forest. At this point seeing the tiger I forgot what I came to do.

"Awww so cute..... did your mama leave you astray" I said admiring and stroking the young cub while squatting.

"Purrr"

"Oh poor thing, that must be a bad mama, hmmm... what will I do with you" I said tapping my chin with my index finger.

"Oh oh I'll take you home, you'll be mine forever" I said happily with a broad smile on my face.

"Now I'm your new mama, ok"

"Are you a girl or a boy" I said scrutinizing it with a pout.

"Wow its girl" I said getting up and twirling with the the cub.

Oh it's getting late already gotta go home. I wasn't even able to catch a game. At least I got a pet *shrug*.

And with that I picked my pet and went home.

...

I catch sight our little house. You can call it a hut or whatever but I love it because it's home to me.

My mama is outside our little home. We are commoners in this large empire. We are not rich at all, we are literally poor in money, but I don't care, infact I'm content and happy that we always have food to eat -we go hunting so food is never a problem. At least bandits don't attack us, haha they know the state of our pockets and don't ask us for money.

"Hey mama, I'm back" I said hopping to my momma.

"Welcome back child" she said not even looking at me.

"I'm not a child I'm a big lady, I'm sixteen years old" I huffed striking an akimbo pose and sticking my nose up in the air and holding my pet in my other hand

"Yes you are" she said turning around smiling.

"What are you doing with that cub and where's your hunt" she asked raising her eyebrows with her smile changing to a frown.

"First of all this cub is my pet and secondly I couldn't catch anything" I told her.

"You can't keep that" she fired ignoring my second statement.

"Of course I can, It will stay in my room and I'll feed it myself" I fired back at her.

"It's not safe" she told me.

"Safe?-" I scoffed "- You taught Kiara and I that if one tames a wild animal it will be good" I told her

"Yes I did say that, but you don't know how to do that" she said looking down and I can see that I am gradually winning this argument.

"I have to try mama, how will I know if I don't try, you taught us to be adventurous pleeeeaaase" I said dragging the please and giving her puppy eyes while pouting.

"What of it's mother?" She asked me and I smiled inwardly knowing she'll surely give in.

"Her mama is bad, she left the poor thing on it's own, I want to take care of it. You know I won't be able to live with myself if this cute cub dies" I said looking really sad and on the verge of tears.

"Ok you can keep it" she said with a sigh finally giving in. Ha, I'm really good at acting.

"Did you hear that mama is letting me keep you" I giggled happily, twirling with my new pet earning a purr from her.

I hopped happily to I and Kiara's room with my pet in my hand.

"Hey you-" Kiara said and put her hands over her mouth in shock.

"-Wait mama let you keep that" she asked in shock.

"Yes yes yes!" I said smiling happily

"Oh my Goodness, it's so cute" she said smiling

"I know right" I giggled and walked to my bed and sat down while stroking my pet.

"What's his name?" She asked

"No no its a girl" I told her

"Really?" She giggled happily

"Yes it is" I smiled

"So what's her name?" She asked me

"Hmmm, what would I name you, huh?" I said tapping my chin striking a thinking pose.

"Leo?... nahh that's a boy's name, Crystal.... nahh to catchy, Wynstar ....hmmm perfect, now your name is Wynstar little one" I said tapping her nose earning a purr from her.

"Wynstar is perfect" Kiara giggled.

I heard Wynstar's stomach growling.

"Poor thing, you're hungry, your new mama will make you milk ok?" I said pouting.

"Kiara, could you please help me bring milk for Wyn baby from one of the store pots in the kitchen?" I asked Kiara.

"Sure, anything for Wynstar" she said and hopped out of the room.

"Your new mama will take care of you, you can count on me baby" I said smiling at Wynstar.

"Here's the milk" Kiara said handing the bowl of milk to me.

"Thank you" I told her.

I drop the bowl on the floor and keep Wynstar in front of it and made her drink from it. Before I knew it she finished it. 'Awww so hungry' I thought

"Kyra, Kiara! Both of you come and eat" my mama screamed from the kitchen.

"Ok mama" Kiara and I chorused.

I arranged a soft mat Kiara and I used to play on beside my bed and place Wynstar on it and leave the room with my sister to the kitchen.

"Kiara your sister was not able to catch any animal in the woods today so we are eating without meat tonight, ok?" mama told Kiara.

"Yes mama" she replied.

Our mama gave us our food and we sat on the kitchen stools to eat. We don't have a separate room for eating or just chilling, we have just two rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom, so we have to eat in the kitchen.

"What of your pet, where would it sleep?" Mama asked me.

"Oh there's a mat in our room, that's where she will lay" I told her.

"Okay" she said nodding her head at me.
