After my birthday and afterI learnt who I truly am, life continued as usual though I did a lot of cultivation as I got to know my centaur. I didn't know where to start with everything and so I let nature take its course especially when it came to looking for 'my fated one' as the old Oracle said.
But one weekend morning while I was lying on bed just lazing about because I didn't have anything better to do, I heard a voice.
"Let's go and look for our fated one. Stop being lazy," It said.
I was startled at first but because I couldn't tell who it was, I thought I was morning dreaming (if there
is anything like that). I closed my eyes again and resumed my pretended sleep.
"Wake up! Let's start looking for our fated one!" I swear this time I could tell the voice was coming from within me and that felt creepy.
"Who are you?" I asked baffled as I sat up very quickly on the bed.
"My name is Jay. Your centaur."
"Well, Jay, you have been quiet there for a while. Why? I thought you would show yourself immediately after my transformation," I said and waited for his answer. We weren't using loud words (like speaking using the mouth) but we were speaking internally. Jay could read my thoughts and I could hear him in there.
"I wanted to see what kind of a human I was gifted with and what steps you would take but so far nothing. Didn't you hear the Oracle? Seasons are changing. It's
time to look for our fated one so that we can increase in strength," he said and I noticed that he was using the plural noun, us.
"Okay. How do you suggest we do that?"
"I don't know. Just get your ass off the bed and let's start walking and looking around," he said irritated and I just didn't understand what he was all worried about.
I swear I didn't know what to do with Jay and I wished I could shut him off but he had a point. We had to start looking. And so start looking we did.
We started by driving around aimlessly. He told me that he would be able to recognise our father one if we saw him and I was this not worried. We visited many cities and there was nothing.
Al had assured me that he would know our fated one if we ever came across her or him, but it had been weeks and I had to attend classes and there was still no progress. I was getting tired and I was this close to giving up.
One day, at around three o'clock, we were just walking around in our city and I felt thirsty. I walked to this grocery store to buy water and I heard Jay exclaim.
"He's here. He's here! I can feel him."
"What? Who?"
"Our fated one. He's male and he's in this store."
I didn't even buy the water I needed because I got both anxious and nervous. I walked out and stood by the exit and waited. After a few minutes, this gorgeous, gorgeous man, tall with hazel eyes that were more golden than hazel and golden hair walked out of the store and I was just staring when Jay exclaimed and said that that was him. I couldn't believe my luck. This was better than I expected.
This whole alpha thing wasn't my choice but if this is the fated one I was to have, I swear I don't mind. It was love at first sight on my side. I had to have him. Even if I wasn't an alpha, I wouldn't leave this kind of a man. It looked like he was specially made for just me. I smiled knowingly and rubbed my palms together in determination. I had to have him.
We followed him and that's when I started my investigation on him. Within a week, I had transferred to his university and I made it my mission to imprint myself in his head so that he won't forget me. It took me almost two years. He would always cuss at me or ignore me but I didn't mind. His sight alone could make me forget my name. He was simply gorgeous. Handsome, to say the least for lack of a better descriptive adjective.
And then, I cracked him.
When I greeted him that morning, I expected him to rash out at me as was his norm but he was actually nice to me. Jay was ecstatic. By the way, it was Jay who would always sense where he was before I could and we always teleported there and that's why I was
everywhere he was.
And now, here I am. On his bed. Sleeping beside him (Am I amazing or am I amazing? I know, right?)
