My System's Awakening Can't Be This Late! Anyways....

Full Title: My system's awakening can't be this late! Now I'll have to deal with a suddenly abusive dad!

[ ~ Chapter • Start ~ ]

It's almost dusk right now, and I am still waiting for my transportation to my home. Whilst I waited, Coco Adel had approached me.

She looked worried about me.

"Normally, you would be gone an hour ago by now...." She spoke, before covering her mouth. "Uh, I didn't mean to offend you right now, Reid!"

l told her that she didn't offend me in any way, and began to talk to her, even talking about a few of my problems that happened days after mom died, which was a few weeks ago.

But, as much as we talked like almost mature people, and the fact that Coco talked about becoming a fashionista soon... it wasn't long before a luxurious-looking car arrived.

"Coco! Mommy's here!" A woman yelled, and Coco stood up from her seat beside me.

"It was quite fun to be talking to you, friend! And, see you next week!"

Coco smiled as she waved her hand and entered the luxurious car. Soon enough, it's engines revved up and it was now off to where Coco's home probably was.

Suddenly.....

Several screens appeared, making me surprised at it's sudden appearance.

Like, really surprised.

[ System Awakening Successful ]

[ Welcome to the "Growth System", host. ]

Once those screens vanished, my HUD appeared.

At the top left corner of my vision was my name, and below those were green and blue bars, which were labeled as my HP and AP which were at 350 and 500. Below it was my XP that was already at the higher four digits.

On the top right corner was a minimap which showed me my location and indicated several places, and thankfully it's not cluttered. The white dot probably indicated me, and several other dots indicated anybody else.

When I moved my eyes to stare at the tree icon on my bottom left corner of my vision, nothing happened until I focused on it.

The tree icon moved to the center of my vision, and then, lines began to grow from it, expanding outwards and eventually becoming web-like.

Many icons also appeared, with several icons already glowing, and the rest were not.

Strange.....

Suddenly, another screen popped up, almost surprising me with its appearance.

[ Welcome to the main function of the "Growth System'". You can spend XP to awaken or upgrade nodes which have already been unlocked. ]

So it's learning curve is quite steep, huh? Honestly I kinda prefer this than other systems right now, but I still had to figure out a lot more about this system.

Anyways....

I observed the nodes that had already been awakened.

[ Growth Acceleration III - The main ability of the system, it increases your EXP gain very significantly to the point where learning is easier and mastering is less difficult. {Upgrade Requirement: 50,000 EXP} ]

[ Calmness VI - The ability to be in a calm mental state for increased periods of time, allowing you to think much clearer than an average huntsman and have an impressive mental strength. { Upgrade Requirement: 35,000 XP } ]

[ Aura II - A forcefield of energy coming from your soul, unlocked either by extreme training or outside help. Currently, your aura is as good as an average 1st/2nd-year Beacon Student. Note: Upgrading your aura allows a significantly faster physical regeneration and aura regeneration and a significant increase in aura capacity and overall stats { Upgrade Requirement: 3000 XP } ]

[ Aura Manipulation III - The ability to manipulate aura, just like most huntsmen. It can be used as a forcefield, or to enhance any object. Your manipulation ability is as good as an average Huntsman. {Upgrade Requirement: 4500 XP } ]

[ Semblance: Soul Pocket - Your semblance, that allows you to store things inside your soul. Upgrading this semblance will lighten the weight of the objects you put inside your soul by 30%. {Upgrade Requirement: 10,000 EXP}

There's also other nodes that were named [Planning II], [Sword Combat II], [Unarmed Combat I], and [Crafting III]. And, other greyed nodes that still need to be activated with EXP.

There's also robotics somewhere east of the web of nodes, and that is what I am going to aim to unlock, but right now there is a big problem that I needed to fix.

And that is Taiyang. He's the big problem.

Ever since Summer died he had drastically changed from just being a drunkard. He began to abuse me, and with careful listening, I noticed that he also wanted me away from my sisters.

Why?

And after 30 minutes, there was still nobody to fetch me. Due to me being alone for quite a long while, nothing happened other than people around me minding their own business.

Then a portal of red and black opened before me. A woman came out of it before it vanished.

Long and shaggy black hair, eyes that looked cold yet possibly gentle inside, and wearing red and black....

She's auntie Raven! Damn, it took her long enough.....

"That blonde fool is still trying to ignore you? How delightful." She spoke in a very sarcastic tone, yet she was very annoyed and irritated. "I'm sending you back home this instant, once again, for the fifth time. I'm going to have a word with him."

Whatever happens next was...

Extra Commentary: The system's HUD is based on both SAO and TROTSH's HUDs. Also he has no levels but he can still gain exp from doing random tasks and his growth tree/web can level up
