Chapter 43 ... Enigmatic occurance
Lucas' POV.
I sighed at the cascade of messages clouding the inbox of my WHA website account.
''This is giving me a headache''.. I complained as I lay beneath the bed sheets…
A few days had passed since I updated my rank as an awakened.
Far from my expectations, the reaction of the masses were more than I had anticipated. The fact that someone who awakened as an E ranker a few days ago managed to break through to a higher rank in less than a month, would have been enough to make others question the reality of the situation.
However, I had achieved a feat far greater than that . I had skipped two levels. I had jumped from E rank directly to C rank… Not even the S rank hunters were able to achieve such a feat on their way to achieve the zenith of what their S rank talent allowed.
The proof of my SSS rank talent's monstrous potential had been cemented with this achievement. Becoming a C rank hunter classified one as a reputable awakened, but not to a point where guilds, the media, and mercenaries would fawn over you..
However my situation was different, my SSS rank talent potential had been proven to be extremely terrifying with the feat of quickly advancing ranks I had accomplished as a hunter in the few days since I awakened.
My inbox was filled with requests to join top guilds and mercenaries boasting huge amounts of money, were I to agree to their requests. Even media outlets wanted me to be featured in their magazines for interviews and commercials.
The most nauseating part of the whole ordeal were the rumors of the fan base established in my name across various social media platforms of the Federation..
Hashtags such as SSS rank talent genius shocks the United Federation again, Birth of a monstrous genius, etc floated above various blog posts concerning me..
I had no other option but to ignore the streams of messages I received everyday… I had refused every offer from the various guilds, mercenaries and the media…
I was not prepared to associate myself with any of these organizations in the least way possible…
I already had plans to start my own guild after all.. However I needed to increase my strength first…
We will delve more into my plans to start my own guild later… For now, let's focus on what plans I had for the day..
The next day would be the day for the wilderness assessment practical midterm exams…
My objective today was to secure some form of protective clothing or bodysuit that could ensure that using my various affinities would not destroy my clothes…
Quickly, I freshened up, put on some convenient clothes and ate a sumptuous meal prepared by Anna the AI butler, then decided it was time to begin my objective for the day.
I was just about to browse through the online shops of Oslon City to explore if there was a possibility of obtaining some sort of bodysuit that could remedy the aforementioned situation with my clothes when my vision grew alarmingly hazy, eventual darkness blanketing my vision…
The next thing I noticed, I stood…no I floated in a very enigmatic setting.
As I turned around in an attempt to figure out where I was, I noticed that the setting was completely bright with a monotone white light….
''Where in the Federation am I?''. I questioned myself, befuddled by the sudden occurrence of this event.. I was shocked, not knowing what entity had warranted this possibility. I disliked being abused, controlled and used by others due to my traumatic past…
I wanted to fume and bellow at whoever summoned me here without my permission or will, however, reason and logic overcame tomfoolery. I knew that whatever or whoever had been able to summon me to this enigmatic plane was no ordinary entity, and I had to reign in my words, and observe to see how things would play out..
I floated around the space inquisitively,teying to figure out anything about where I was..
Specs of white light exuded from the white environs ,congregating and assuming the shape of a feminine figure…
''What in the four nations is this…'' I mused inwardly as I glanced with shock at the ethereal figure emitting a regal aura.. She had completely white hair and eyes glowing completely with white light.. Her extremely fair face could be mistaken as almost white…
The only visible parts of her fair body were the parts I have already described, as the rest of her body were enveloped in golden armor with intricate patterns.
I felt as though I were in the presence of some divine figure…
''Am I dead?'' I mused at the in-credulousness of the situation I was in.. As I found no other way to describe the scene before me..
Then her regal voice streamed into my ears, causing me to snap out of my musings.
''No you are not dead… We have pressing matters to discuss, Lucas Grimstone.. First let me start by introducing myself… I am the Planetary Will of your world, the human world''
''Planetary Will?'' I mused outwardly, as her words were inconceivable to process .. If not for the fact that this concept had never been used in any of the fantasy novels I had read and animations I had watched, I would have assumed that I was dreaming about some anime program I had scene or some novel I had read…
However, I knew this was reality… I had to remain calm and figure out why this entity had summoned me here..
