Grim Reaper

Grim Reapers are the personification of death and they are certainly real. They have their own home just like humans but it's nowhere identical instead of being surrounded by homes, trees, cars, and more stuff, they are surrounded by gravestones of all the currently living humans with the date and time of their death and the dead who float around in soul form but only a few wander the underworld because most souls are used for something else.

Walking down a trail leading to a casket covered in skulls and bones, a skeleton whose age is unknown but its posture gives you a hint. It leaned against its bone scythe for support and its spine was arched making its skull lean forward.

It would seem odd to some that a grim reaper walked like an old human but that's because it decided to. Grim Reapers are immortal, and they can do anything to their bodies even giving them human form to wander the human realm.

It lifted the casket lid causing all the skulls and bones to hit the dark floor. Inside the casket was a skeleton in a deep slumber.

The grim reaper walked away from the casket and headed to a grave. It lifted its hand and the black sand-like substance floated in the air.

He walked closer to the grave to see the inside of it. He looked down into the grave and saw a scythe made of bones and the pointy part of the scythe had a blue glow to it. The scythe started levitating to its hand.

The grim reaper examined the scythe and suddenly its bones started turning black. The reason behind this was that he wasn't the owner of the scythe. Every grim reaper has a scythe that can only be used by them to gather the souls of humans.

He paced back to the casket, and when he arrived at it, he looked back and forth between the grim reaper in the casket and the scythe. It took a deep breath and placed the scythe on the grim reaper's chest.

A couple of minutes passed and it started wondering whether it had done the process right. It extended its hand to the scythe when suddenly the floor started shaking.

The grim reaper's eyes or at least where its eyes would have been if he had some started glowing blue and then it slowly rose from the casket. It turned its head to the other grim reaper beside its casket.

The grim reaper quickly kneeled. "It's been a long time master Thanatos."
