Chapter -5 Talks with Father

"Good morning, Milord. You should wake up now."

Then he ordered him to ready his bath as per his daily routine. After washing himself properly, he went to the dining hall for breakfast. At the breakfast table, Otto told his father

"Father, Will you have time after dinner?"

His father asked him,

"Do you want to tell me about anything?"

"I have something to ask you. Can I talk with you alone?"

His father did not answer him but stared him straight at his eyes. He felt pressured but he also knew that he could not bow down his head to him. So, he also did not bow his head and stared straight at his father's eyes without budging. They persisted for some seconds then his father spoke without budging,

"Okay, My son. You can come to my office after breakfast."

"Okay."

Everyone present there was bewildered by the behaviour of Otto. They had only one thought in their mind how did he, a 13 years old boy, look at our king with that gaze without flinching?

Only Otto's mother Therese had different thoughts in her mind. She thought that he had already changed from a naïve boy to someone who had thought about every step before taking those steps. She thought that the assassination had changed him.

After completing the breakfast, he went to his father's office room with his father. Inside the room, he saw an old man, roughly around age 55. He immediately recognised that this person was the present prime minister of Bavaria, Ladislaw Jagellion. The first Slavic prime minister of Bavaria is known for his shrewd diplomacy and micromanagement of kingdom affairs. He was discriminated against at first because of his Slavic identity. But due to his high competency and political ties, He reached the position of prime minister.

Then His father told the prime minister to leave the room for some time. Ladislaw left the room. Before leaving he exchanged greetings with Otto. Then Both father and son sat on the sofa face to face. Then his father asked

"First of all, I have not gotten any time to visit you. Do not be angry about that."

"Okay, I understand."

"Do you want to learn about those who wanted to assassinate you?"

"If you want to tell me, I will hear it."

"It's good. You know that I am thinking about taking him Greek throne to make our family stronger. Will the other great power support us?"

"They need benefits if you want support. We need to make a proper diplomatic concession so that We can make sure, they would not restrict the second prince in his rule over the Greek country. Let us start talking with Russia and Austria. For Austria, we can tell them if they support us, we will support them if they want to become the leader of Germany. I think it should be a tempting offer as they need support in German land because of Prussian continuous aggression. As for Russia, the new Greek nation will become their only ally in Balkan Peninsula if they support us. As for Britain and France, they will be the main problem. I need to think about it.
