46 Chapter 46

-After school ends, Occult Research Clubroom-

My Insight is still not good enough. I need to improve my spell even further so that I can have a similar sensing ability to Observation Haki.

"Yuuto, can you call Issei to come here?" Rias asked.

"I already did that, so he will likely arrive here in a few minutes," I said, with my eyes still closed.

"Ehh?" She sounded surprised but smiled at me.

I saw her smile using Insight.

"Good call on your part, Yuuto," Rias said to me.

Then Akeno asked me, "Why are you still closing your eyes?"

"Training," I said without providing further information.

"What kind of training?" Akeno tilted her head while looking at me curiously.

"You will know in the future," I said, not giving any hint.

"Mou, fine, keep your little secret then," Akeno said with a pouting face and looked away.

I just ignored her, but then I heard Issei outside the building.

"Issei is here. I'll send my familiar to greet him," Rias said.

I saw her familiar fly out of the room's window.

Hmm, that's interesting. What familiar should I get?

Seiryuu would be cool. A large azure dragon, and I could ride it in the clouds, but that's too risky.

I guess I could get a Chimera. They're not too hard, and it's still cool to have a large lion. Speaking of lions, there's also a huge tiger. It could become my pet.

It's cool, but meh, that can wait a while because there's a more important thing I need to do first.

Suddenly, the door opened up, and Issei was guided to enter the room by Rias' familiar, who was in human form.

After that, the familiar turned back to its original form and flew back to Rias' shoulder.

"Welcome, Hyoudou-kun," Rias said as she rubbed the familiar's head.

Issei just bowed and said, "I heard from Yuuto-san that you called me here."

He looked very surprised at the familiar who had transformed from a human into a flying demon bat.

"Yes, and that is true," Rias said. "We are going to explain everything you need to know."

"Okay, I understand," Issei said, nodding.

"This will take a while. Take a seat," Rias said.

Issei took the seat next to Akeno and listened closely to Rias' explanation. Meanwhile, I focused on my Insight.

I need to sharpen my senses even more. Imagine being in the endless void and only being able to sense people using this ability.

I can see the people a little bit better.

I need my senses to be even sharper. I want them to be instinctual, like a second limb.

It feels like being in the deep sea where you can't see or hear anything. Normally, that would be terrifying, but I feel really relaxed and calm because of the silence.

....

Suddenly, a hand approached my arm. I caught it and opened my eyes, only to see Koneko's hand in my grip.

Her hand was quite soft. I smiled a bit while holding Koneko, and I saw her smile too. I let it go and looked at Rias.

"Are you okay, Yuuto?" Rias asked with a smile. "Were you sleeping, Yuuto?"

Before I answered Rias, I looked around and noticed Issei in the room.

"Kinda," I replied.

Akeno smiled upon hearing my answer.

"Okay," Rias clapped her hands to regain our attention and said, "Do you understand everything, Issei?"

"I understand, Buchou," Issei said with determination. "I'll be heading home first."

"We can start your training tomorrow," Rias said with a smile. "See you soon, Issei."

"See you soon too, everyone," Issei said as he left the room.

After he left, I stood up with my eyes closed and walked towards the door. Rias asked me, "Where are you going?"

"Training," I turned my head towards her with my eyes closed. "See you tomorrow."

I left the place and monitored Issei from far away, in case the same Fallen Angel tried to kill Issei, just like in canon.

As I observed Issei from afar, I saw the same Fallen Angel appear in front of him.

I cracked my neck and sprouted my hideous wings.

Damn, I need to change the structure of my wings. They're ugly as hell. Even bat wings are better. What the hell is this?

Forget about it. I flew up and headed straight in front of Issei to protect him from dying.

I saw the Fallen Angel create a light spear to throw at Issei.

When I arrived there, I dropped down in front of Issei and saw the incoming light spear being thrown.

I caught the light spear with my bare hand, but I had already engulfed my hand with Demonic Power, so I'm fine with a little burned. Nothing too bad.

I stood up tall and destroyed the light spear with my hand.

The surprised expression on the Fallen Angel's face made me happy.

"Yo, what do you think you're doing, little crow?" I asked with my best creepy smile and tone, amplifying it with Demonic Energy.

In their eyes, I looked extra scary.

The concerned expression on the Fallen Angel's face made me happy. I looked over and glanced at Issei, who was shaking due to my aura.

"Get back," I said to him.

Issei gulped and took a few steps back.

"Get ready, little crow. I'm gonna pull your insides out Mortal Kombat style," Kiba cracked his neck and walked menacingly towards the Fallen Angel, his right hand crackling with blue lightning.

"Wait, we can talk it out," the Fallen Angel attempted to speak, but before he could continue, Kiba appeared in front of him and pierced through the Fallen Angel's chest.

Blood splattered as the Fallen Angel coughed it out.

"Nah, there's no reason to talk," Kiba said as he pulled out the heart from the Fallen Angel's chest.

The Fallen Angel collapsed to the ground, blood flowing out from the hole created by Kiba.

Issei's fear intensified as he watched Kiba, especially with the terrifying smile on his face as he examined the heart. Issei couldn't help but vomit at the sight of the lifeless body, the beating heart, and the flowing blood.

There was only one thing on Kiba's mind: 'I felt absolutely nothing. This is good. I won't break down in the future when killing someone.'

Then an idea came to him: 'Maybe I can use this heart to remove my light weakness. Let's keep it.'

Kiba created a magic circle, and it phased through the heart, causing it to disappear.

'Done. Now it won't stop beating,' Kiba smiled, looking at the empty space where the heart had been. Then, he turned his gaze towards Issei.

"Go back home and don't tell anything to Buchou and the others, okay?" Kiba asked, his eyes closed and a smile on his face.

"O-okay, I will keep this a secret," Issei said, trembling but still curious about the dead body. "Are you going to leave the dead body here?"

"Nah, I'll take it back. See you tomorrow, Issei," Kiba said.

With that, Issei quickly walked back to his home, trying to calm himself down and clear his mind from what had just happened.
