Lunch [ End of arc ]

Claude closed his book and went down. He was still thinking about Abyssal magic and many things related to it.

Even though Claude had only studied basic and required science in his past world for him the elements work with the same logic as his past world. Just that magic can speed up those things and works on a different fuel called mana.

If you think about it this way, death magic is just magic formed by the law of aging while life magic works on the law of body recovery or reverse aging. In short death magic divides matter and energy while life magic multiplies it.

But these two elements are like Aura. Just that they completely change the form factor of mana while letting your emotions lead them. And this was interesting and exciting from the point of view of Claude.

Claude is a curious mind. New things attract him more than anything. Especially the things which he doesn't know anything about.

You can say this is the difference between a genius and a monster. Claude is simply insatiable and as long as something can satisfy his curious buds from time to time he would be fine. Without this nature Claude would just be an average cold guy who will kill anyone because he has the power to do so.

While Claude was still thinking about Abyssal magic he finally reached the first floor and saw someone which made him flinch.

After the death of Ellen there was no one in this house who could do household work like cleaning, washing clothes etc. That's why a woman from the village was ready to work for a few bronze emperions a month. That woman was setting up the table.

A woman with strawberry blonde hair which was curly. She had the same sapphire blue eyes like Claude but her eyes were clean like marble and were less mesmerizing and deep like Claude. She was 5'9 (154 cm), slightly taller than Layla. She had a big bosom around the E cup. Along with her seductive lips, round glasses and pink skin there will hardly be any man who will be able to resist her.

This woman was obviously Amber. She was currently cooking in the kitchen. She threw a glance at Claude before going back to her work. Claude also sat beside Eren who was currently reading the Aura book.

" How is it ?" Claude asked.

" It's a bit confusing but I can tell that even if I understand it. It sure is going to take time and hard work to do what is given in this book." Eren said without even turning his head to look at Claude.

Claude simply sat there for a few minutes still while thinking about Abyssal magic but the food was already prepared and Ares was already sitting in front of him along with his wife Amber.

There was nothing much to talk about that's why the lunch went in silence.

Even though it was barely noticeable Claude noticed that Ares was gesturing to Amber to do something.

Amber seemed to be fidgeting about it first but after a few seconds she took a deep breath and called out Claude.

" Claude "

" Yes," Claude just replied normally without even looking at her.

" There's something important that we need to ask you or to be precise tell you." She said a bit nervous

" Go on " This time Claude looked at her because even though they didn't have a good relationship it was the first time she wanted to talk about something important to him.

" Ares has finally become a Sword sage." When she said that Claude slightly smiled and looked at Ares while Erens interest piqued and he looked at Ares with a wide grin.

" Congratulations, dad."

" Congratulations, lord father."

Both of them congratulated him simultaneously. Even though Claude pretended to not know it he knew that something like this might have happened.

After all, until yesterday Ares had a light yellow core with a lot of strands of orange but today he had a completely deep orange core. He was just waiting for Ares to tell them.

But he didn't understand what was his interference in this talk. That's why he directly asked :-

" What does that have to do with anything related to me ?"

" Well, this news has already gone to the three Duke's that Ares has become a sword sage and that's why they are forcing Ares to either join one of the three Duke's or get out of North." Amber said.

" Joining any of the three Duke's side is plain suicide. Seeing that the power balance is broken a war will start in the north. That's why going outside of the north is the best option." Claude said with a thoughtful look.

" Yes I know. I have already gotten a good job offer. It is a county near the imperial capital. They earn the same amount of money as a duchy as they have 3 dungeons in it. The count was someone I knew from a long time ago that's why he had agreed to give me the best possible conditions. Paying me more than three times more than a normal sword sage in the north will earn only for leading and training his soldiers." Ares explained everything related to the job in one go.

" But there's a problem. The count is a friend of mine that's why he warned me that unlike north if I don't have any blood relation with someone but yet I am keeping him then you and I both have to face several problems." Ares continued.

" And if they know that you also have talent in being a mage then they will try to get rid of you at any cost to secure the policy of pure blood relation." Ares concluded with a frown and disgust.

Claude understood clearly what Ares was trying to say. According to the words of Ares, if Claude went along with them in a county then they as well as he will face many problems.

" What is your solution ?" Claude knew that if they are talking to him about it they might have already found the solution.

" There's a place where you can stay without any worries in the North." Amber finally spoke.

" It is the territory of Fitoya. Marques of Orsini."
