Under interrogation, Alote had had no option but to expose Ryu's identity for the sake of saving herself. After all, she had been the trigger for all of this in the first place. With the intelligence of cultivators and their ability to pick up on the tiniest of details, it was impossible that she would be able to escape scrutiny, especially not when everyone around her would be clambering for credit.
