First Kill...

Haha ha! It's Gramel.

It was a bright sunny, very quiet and pleasant day. My parents moved us to that village thinking I was being weird, Am I? Just because I couldn't tolerate certain things and wasn't able to produce emotions doesn't make me a monster. How will you call me a monster when I am a lady like you, you know?

"Gramel! Come out here" my mother shouted.

Oh Gramel is my name, Am a girl.I will be turning eighteen this night. We moved into this village when I was ten years old, and you could see I have missed a lot of village life.

"Yes mum, I'm coming. I will be late for school" I responded.

" As if, lazy girl. You dropped out of school and aren't serious with your GED" she said.

I finished ironing my uniform and went to take my shower. We weren't well off and struggling on our own. I dropped out of two schools already, one was in the city and the main reason for us coming to this town. Let me brief you with that.

******** Seven years ago*********

Cameras flashing, cars making noises, police sirens kept disturbing..my mum hid me in the closet to prevent me from knowing what's going on.

"You remember scoring the highest in your recent texts, that's why these journalists are in" my mother said.

" Okay, but shouldn't I go and see them?" the young me asked.

My mum looked left and right, I covered myself with a blanket and took the snack she left with me...

But one thing she forgot was to leave the television on. When I noticed she had left to speak to the police and the journalists I opened the closet.

" I wouldn't greet you because it isn't a good day. I am Joel reporting live at the 'finger twist murderers' house. Since the killer of 'Finger twist' has been arrested, we got a hint of him having a daughter who was tested to be a psychopath. We've got the mother here and the question the public, you, wants to know is if the father was a serial killer despite not being a psychopath, how much more is the daughter of a murderer" The journalist reported.

I was trembling in fear while watching the news, my mum... She was humiliated by them.

" Now, Mrs Williamsburg, what do you think about isolating your daughter for the safety of the country? We can't afford another one like her father" he asked my mother.

" She's a lady and won't have the strength and courage to kill anyone" my mother replied to him.

" Then do you admit to the possibilities of your daughter being a psychopath killer in the near future. I interviewed her schoolmates and they testified already that she caught a 🐁, killed it by squeezing the head, and then used the blood to paint'' Journalist Joel questioned my mum again with her answer.

" My daughter is not a psychopath but a genius. How will a ten year old girl kill a mouse? Please stop reporting fake rumors. Since the killer has been caught there's no need to break the rest of the family" she concluded.

My mum turned her back on them after answering their questions, she saw me through the window that her mistake was turning the television on. What she wanted to hide has been revealed. She rushed to me and left the curtains on, as the glass windows were so transparent.

She carried me in her arms and kept repeating the same words over and over " I'm sorry! Daddy is sorry, I'm sorry".

"Did dad really kill someone?" I curiously asked my mum.

She wiped her tears and answered " Yes, thirteen females were dead. I'm sorry such a man is your father" .

I broke out in laughter, I couldn't stop myself from laughing then said " Why are you sorry? It's nice!".

" What? What's nice" she asked.

" Why else again, mum. Dad killed someone and it's nice" I said.

My mum hugged me even though she heard what I said but pretended not to know....

" Let's get out of this cursed city once we see those people leave, umm." She added.

We couldn't leave that night because there were lots of preparation to be made. I went to my school with my mum to get my stuffs out of my locker, go through proper procedures before I leave the school. My mum was asked to wait at the principal's office and allow me to get my stuffs from the locker. I got to the school's hall and saw my locker number 31'.

Hurriedly went to open.. " Mum!!!?" I shouted.

"Why? You are afraid of these fingers dipped in red wine. How fainthearted you are, that's shocking to expect from a serial killer's daughter. Oops you are even a psychopath" Little, one of my mates said.

I took my stuff into my bag, closed it and took twenty steps towards little, I stared at her weirdly then said." You are afraid of me, right. Don't worry, I will become a Sister at the Catholic Church thus you all will be able to sleep in peace. But make sure my genius cell doesn't actually turn out to be a psychopath".

You know us psychopaths can't be caught lying, since we don't produce any emotions.

I headed to the principal's office that's the last day at my school at the age of ten.

************************************

" Mum, I am off to take my first GED paper," I said.

My mum hurriedly placed my lunch into my bag and I Left.

I always have my earphones on with my small music box.

The exams began and it will last for two hours.

"Stop work, pens down!" Shouted the invigilator".

I took my bag and headed out... " Hey, bitch!" Pat, the very first and last person close to me, she's my best friend and also taking the GED with me, we both left school to support ourselves.

"Let's get some pork on our way, I know a very good spot for that" She said.

*PHONE CHIMES!

My phone's ringtone is different from this guess who's phone it was.

" Pat isn't your phone. You are such a talker?" I said.

" Hahaha, oh yeah, it seems I was daydreaming. Let me answer the call. After a few minutes she got back to me to disappoint me " Sorry Gramel, I have been called to go to my brother in the city" she said.

"When will you be coming home? We have a different paper to write tomorrow" I said.

With Pat out of my way I decided to go to the library, it was just a few walks ahead.

I placed my earphones into my ears again and raised the volume high.. humming to the song while I walked by the roadside. I told you I would reach soon, I spent almost half of the day at the library, it was time to head home so I booked for a ride.

After I reached home, I found Pat serving the food for dinner... Pat stays close to me and she and my mum have been friends since.

"Why are you now coming? Pat reached here ages ago" my mum angrily asked.

" I went to the library." I said and turned the television on.

" It's time to bring you this evening news... I am Joel" says the Anchor.

" Sit down and let's eat.. why do you love watching the news, especially this man. Oh now he's an Anchor" mum said.

"Why do you know him?" Pat asked

"Just some old acquaintance of mine," she said.

I replied with nothing.

"The country has been free from killing until this afternoon a body of a student was found at the building's entrance. This student is taking the GED. We barely recognize her due to how half of her face was burnt with her small finger missing on both hands" the Anchor presented.

" Oh, Gramel, didn't you argue with her this morning that she threatened to kill you?" Pat said.

" That fool, why must she bring it up," I thought. " I don't remember arguing with her, she's not worth my time" I replied.

My mum gave me that same creepy look when the reporters came to our house.

" Pat, can you not inform anyone about it?" she pleaded with Pat.

I stood up, smirked, then said " Why doesn't she deserve to die".
