Sand wraith

The raptor rode in the front and the horses stayed behind, afraid. The moon was away to a quarter and the stars shone brightly over the cold sand.

"What did you mean by saying that?" Nibur asked afraid.

"Meant by what?" Thraos asked.

"You know, things asleep at night," he looked around.

"Are you afraid, might dwarf?" Chaenath mocked him.

Nibur swiped away a cold sweat. "Afraid, I am not afraid. I am just being- cautious."

Thraos peered at the sands. "If the gods permit it, you will not need to know about it," he said.

Nibur felt the cold biting into his skin when he woke up. He wiped away his drool and looked around. "Woke up from your beauty sleep?" Chaenath said coming from the side.

"Shut it. I am not like you freaks who don't need sleep."

The moon was going down the horizon and Dalyor saw a drip of sunlight peeking from his right. They had started seeing large orange rocks and boulders along the way.
