The red and undying

*Big thanks to Charlie Puente-Duany for your continuous support*

Ulfric had not really expected a battle that day.

No, Ulfric had thought that everything would be nothing more than a farce, he believed that his people would quickly be done with this tribe bringing them to heel so he would be able to have his lunch and drink that skagossi piss he called wine.

But nothing had gone to plan, the tribe's numbers had suddenly increased with them setting up a trap they had managed to destabilize his moral and now his troops were stuck in a pincer attack. Ulfric normally cared little for strategies that was one of the many reasons he and his son Torghen always got into arguments.

Ulfric had always believed that if one had sufficient strength then all strategies would eventually be all for moot, and he was adamant that he had the strength required. He was however unable to demonstrate his believe that day as he was held back by two people.

One of them had actually impressed him so much with the amount of damage he had been able to handle that he had actually proclaimed him undying in the heat of the moment. As the battle continued with the warrior still refusing to fall from wounds that will had definitely taking down any other man , Ulfric was beginning to think that this guy may actually be undying.

The other one though was most certainly a brat but the brat fought and looked like a beast thirsty for blood. He was bathed from head to toe in red making Ulfric just how many men had this little brat killed to have his entire body bathed in blood. The brats eyes though was what stood out to Ulfric, those eyes that seemed to have lost their intelligence overcome solely by beastly instinct.

Ulfric had seen those eyes before, all who possessed those eyes were truly beast given human form. When they did battle they entered a trance like fury and did not stop until their opponent was well and truly dead no matter what happened to them they would not stop until either they or their opponent was dead. Berserkers the people called them, the beasts of the battle field and here he stood facing one of those beasts.

The brat was the first to rush in still holding on tightly to his axes his swings wild as though no thought was placed behind them. Ulfric managed to block this strikes and intended to return a few of his own but was held back as Benjen managed to take advantage and move to an opening striking at his limbs and causing him to cry out in pain.

Benjen grit his teeth annoyed he did not manage to kill Ulfric with that opportunity, pulling out his blade ready to strike once more but Ulfric manage to retreat far enough to avoid both Benjen and Lothor's attacks. Ulfric on the other hand grit his teeth, the enjoyment he felt at the beginning was no where to be found at this moment he knew if he made one more mistake it could very well be his last.

Unsurprisingly Lothor was the first to rush at him the exact same way as he had done before, but unlike the first time Ulfric was no longer intended in a give and take battle and aimed his trike for the boys wrists causing the axes to be flung out his hand, then proceeded to grasp the boy tightly by his arm spinning him around to gain more momentum before launching him towards Benjen who was trying to take advantage of his brother once more, causing them both to tumble to the ground.

Ulfric had at this moment changed their roles as he was now the one doing the attacking, he swung down with such a fury. Benjen barely saw the attack coming and rolled away with his brother to avoid the attack that had caused a small cloud of snow to rise up.

Ulfric was unrelenting as he continued his attacks not affording them anytime to actually make it back to their feet. Lothor eventually managed to swipe a battle axe and moved to meet Ulfric's attack but a clash of weapons had sent Lothor flying with his hands completely numb.

"Lothor!" Benjen screamed out his younger brother's name before running to tackle Ulfric, smashing his body against Ulfric's he managed to push him a bit farther away from Lothor but he was still unable to send the man down. With a sneer Ulfric rose his weapon above his head to smash down on Benjen who held on tightly trying to muster whatever strength was left to push him down.

The sneer was quick to vanish as Ulfric moved his weapon to the back of his neck to protect him against a sword strike, the clash of steel rung through his ear. With a knee to the gut followed by another to his jaw Ulfric got rid of Benjen and turned around just in time to block another slash. "I do hope you don't mind, I would have gotten here earlier but you are a hard man to reach" Arthor spoke as he stared into the man who towered over him, Ulfric had a few wounds here and there courtesy of Arthor's brothers but Arthor knew it fell to him to bring the brute down.

This man was not one to surrender and the only way to obtain the Black Horn Tribe was to end the man before him.

I've been extremely busy this week and haven't been able to post much but I'll try and release more chapters before this month come to an end.
