Agricultural Development

Arthor sat upon a stone bench and observed the monolith before him. It was a massive slab of stone that stood at the height of the two full grown skagossi men standing atop one another.

The names of the lives lost in the battles he had fought were engraved upon it. Some names he knew personally with the vast majority being people whose figures he could not place. So many lives had been given up in his quest for vengeance, one name however always held his attention, Meha.

'He had started this war for family and now he had lost family', Arthor let out a self depreciating chuckle.

"I knew you'd be here, you are here almost every day" A voice was heard from behind himself causing him to bite down his chuckle. "Do you know I can't even remember her voice anymore, pretty soon even her face will be naught but a blur".

"War is always hard"

"Aye it is, that I know. What I don't know however is... was I right?" 'would I have done what I did, if I did not see the world as some fictional place. Would I truly make the same choices again' Arthor spoke the last words internally.

"Take a look at the smiles of the people who live here and you will see your answer", Arthor chuckled before turning around to face Freya, the two had started out with a rough patch with Freya's distrust of him growing with each of is actions. It was only when the wars were put behind them with Arthor deciding to focus on his Tribes development that the two had become friends, with the signs of something more becoming more apparent with each day.

"Thank you" Arthor told her as he made it to his feet, "Oh its alright we all know you'd be lost without me." Freya's words caused Arthor to scoff. "What brings you here anyway?"

"Oh yeah Halys and the council said they have completed a few the projects you gave them" Arthor practically lit up at Freya's words. "Lets not keep them waiting" Arthor took the leading heading to the log building the people had set aside for important meetings.

A whole year had passed since his last battle, and Arthor had decided it was best they moved their focus from battle to actual sustainable development. A quick glance was all it took to reveal the main problem the tribe was facing, food. Agriculture was the backbone of society after all.

With all neighboring tribes essentially under his command, peace was something they were now truly in possession of, as well as manpower. The manpower was of course directed to the agricultural effort, with many lands being reclaimed for farming. Quite a few were also directed to the building of homes as well as clearing a few paths to allow for better interconnectivity between tribes.

Of course everything was not all perfect, with the constant battles that had ravaged these lands from before their grandfather's time. Most men were more accustomed to battle than farming, which led to a lot of time being wasted as they had to be reeducated on proper methods by the more knowledgeable.

This solved the manpower issue in a way, but also revealed to Arthor just how inefficient their methods were.

Arthor racked his brains trying to remember all he could about the little bit of knowledge he had about agriculture. A few ideas had popped up in his head, but there were only few he could properly explain to the craftsmen. Now he was heading to the group to see what they had come up with.

Making his way into the building, Arthor was brought face to face with the people who had smiles upon their faces. "Hah, you're finally here brat" Halys spoke up once he laid sight on Arthor. "Me and the othershave completed two of the contraptions you left with me", saying that he turned to two others who ripped of a tarp. Two contraptions were now present before Arthor and Freya.

Arthor moved closer to have a look as Halys explained how he and the others went about creating the two devices. The first of the two devices was a steel tipped plough, a wooden plow was made earlier but easily broke once it was used, hence necessitating the need for the steel tipped plough.

Arthor smiled as he listened to Halys explanation before moving on to the thresher, this one was different from the plough. As where he knew how a plough looked liked and was supposed to work, he only knew the function of a thresher and had no idea how to start about making the machine.

He had spent three days convey the idea to Halys, and was completely over the moon to see that Halys and his craftsmen were actually able to succeed. He would be honest he did not know whether or not these tools already existed in the world but at least his people had taking their fist step to agricultural development.
