Wedding Prep amidst The Defiance

(Casterly Rock, Lannisport, The Westerlands, The Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, Westeros)

---‐‐---------------‐--------------------

(Gerold Lannister POV)

---‐‐---------------‐--------------------

Love was in the air despite the fact that the Defiance of Duskendale was on the horizon. Gerold's wedding to Ashara Dayne and Janna Tyrell was also on the horizon, Gerold had invited Prince Rhaegar and Princess Laenora Rygaera to attend his wedding. Rhaegar had invited him to attend his, but circumstances prevented his attendance.

Gerold had also included The Stark's, Baratheon's, Martell's, Tully's, Greyjoy's, Arryn's, and all their Principle Bannermen among the list of invitations. The Tyrell's and Dayne's were by right of blood already guaranteed a seat at the table, as were the Redwyne's, Hightower's, Tarly's, Fossoways, Rowan's, Merryweather's, Yronwood's, Allyrion's, Santagar's, Jordayne's and Uller's.

Gerold had left the General planning to his mother, while he and Jaime had focused on sorting out the whom was sat with whom and the more martial festivities held in honor of the wedding. Seven days and Seven Nights. Jousts, Melee's, Archery, even a Squires tournament. Gerold had taken the opportunity to ask to speak with Robert Baratheon.

(Robert Baratheon POV)

-----------------------------------------

Robert Baratheon was nervous, he'd just arrived at Casterly Rock for Lord Gerold's Wedding after receiving a personal invitation signed by Lord Gerold himself to attend. Then when he arrived, Gerold's Uncle, Ser Kevan Lannister approached him and informed him that Lord Gerold wished to speak with him, Jon Arryn, and Brandon and Ned.

Robert found Lord Gerold in his Solar, with Stannis by his side no less.

''Welcome to Casterly Rock my Lord's, please be seated, Addam get these men a stiff drink. And Bread and Salt. Guest Right must be observed." Says Gerold.

"Yes, My Lord." Says Marbrand as he departs to get the Whiskey, Bourbon, Vodka, and Bread and Salt.

"Congratulations on your Weddi-"

"No, no talk until we have given Bread and Salt." Gerold stops Jon Arryn from speaking.

"Here my Lords." Says Addam as he hands Robert the Vodka, Brandon and Ned Bourbon and Whiskey, and Arryn the Whiskey. All of them are given Bread and Salt.

"Now that that's done, Stannis, seal it." Gerold orders and Stannis goes and seals the doors before returning to Gerold's side. "Now we can speak freely. That door has been soundproofed, nothing enters in or leaves in terms of sound. My own design, and the only way for Varys to bypass it...well it hasn't been invented yet. I asked each of you here today, because I received a vision. Aside from our Northmen here, who has ever heard of the Greensight?" Gerold asks.

"Nobody? Really? Oh fucking George. Alright well the Greensight's last known wielder was Brynden Rivers, and I Believe he's still alive, since I received a vision with a Bloody Red Raven at it's center with three eyes. It was the Greenseer's who started the Long Night in a last desperate gambit to stave off the Andal Ancestors of Casterly Rock, The Eyrie, and the Other Kingdoms below the Neck except Dorne. Just as it was a Greenseer who almost killed poor Willas.'' Gerold says, as Brandon Stark stands up sharply sending his chair over backwards.

''How do you know about Willas?!'' Brandon demands.

''I told you, a vision. Now this three-eyed Bloodraven said that in the next five years or so the Dragons will find themselves with no friends save two, I suggest you start building up your forces and strengthening your holds over your Regions. Especially you Lord Robert, because the second your loyalty to the Crown is tested and found lacking, the Connington's will rise up with at least three or four houses in defiance. I don't put much stock in Visions, but I'm wise enough to recognize that all it takes a single monumental fuck up to unleash a Rebellion. My money's on You starting it Little Stag.'' Gerold says.

Robert can't help but wonder what that is supposed to mean, or what the Lion is implying .

''You speak of treason.'' Jon Arryn says with no small amount of Warning in his voice.

''I speak of truth, When Final Dusk has come for The Dun Fort, you will know that I spoke true. Until then I strongly suggest you build up your Armies.'' Gerold says handing Jon Arryn a Rolled up parchment. ''When the Dragon demands Stag and Wolf Skins, send that to me and I will March an army of no less than Sixty Thousand Men in support.'' Says Gerold as he nods to Stannis and Addam to unseal the room.

(Gerold Lannister POV)

-----------------------------------------

Watching his guests depart, Gerold waits until the four have departed before turning to Addam and Stannis. ''It's almost time, Stannis I'm sending you to Lord Sarwyck, you will inform him to gather the other's and Ride the Tides and Sail the Skies. He'll know what that means. Addam I'm sending you to Riverrun, you will speak to Lord Blackfish and Lord Hoster, give them this letter. You will not give it to anybody else. Tell Edmure and Benjen I wish to speak with them.'' Gerold instructs.

''Yes, My Lord.'' Stannis and Addam say respectfully.

Once the two have departed, Gerold turns to look upon Red Rain and Orphan-Maker on the Mantelpiece. He has not needed to unsheath them in three years, and unless called to Duskendale he likely won't need to take them up again for a few more years.

It truly was the Calm before the Storm....

-----------------------------------------

(Janna Tyrell POV)

-----------------------------------------

The day had finally come, Within the Week she would become Lady Janna Lannister, A Lady of Casterly Rock and Castamere. A title she would share with Lady Ashara, but over the years Janna found herself increasingly fond of the Dornish Maiden. Her sharp wit and sharper tongue reminded Janna of her beloved mother so much, that if not for the age gap, lack of wrinkles, and purple eyes Janna would genuinely believe them to be the same person.

Janna had continued to match Ashara with her pleasure skills, but Gerold never showed any indication of a preference between them. Favoring them both equally. He welcomed Ashara at his War Table and Janna at his Peace Table. Valuing them through their individual talents and skills.

The man was an enigma who refused to Crack under her tender caress, and that equal parts frustrated, aroused, and encouraged her. She wanted to know what it was that drove him so and how to turn that to her own advantage for her future use...

Okay, so Hiatus has a few more days before I genuinely take Red Rain and Orphan-Maker back up, but managed to get this out at least. War of the Roses has stalled to allow me to split my focus between Gerold, Kaligg and Garaddon, Alaccon, Izanaki, and Ronin. I won't publish them for a few more days, and even then it will still require additional work before publishing. Until the next few days...

Additional notice:

The bitch is a Bot apparently and that little fucker tried hacking my buddy who works in cyber security for the United States Consulate in New Zealand. Got a call a few hours after posting this saying I apparently commited treason and espionage, turns out it was the god damn bitch/bot at work
