Lilith had not spoken since the ceremony began, even though she was sitting with Florate and Rain. She neither spoke to them nor responded to the grand sensei's words that she found most them cheering and clapping for. She looked lost and in her own world. Nothing around seemed to excite her and her friends thought they knew why.

They believed maybe she was unhappy about Rain rejecting to keep the syringe number and reporting the strange man to the grand sensei. But unknown to her, Rain and Florate reached an agreement that because of the friendship they shared, she would keep the syringe and help her save Gorgor and this, they kept hidden from her because they wanted to surprise her. Florate had disagreed at first, with very obvious reasons that had pure and genuine points. Rain understood that what she was about to do was more like putting her own life in danger but she was willing to it for Lilith. She loved her so much and saw no reason why she should not help her when she was sure she could. As far as they knew, the syringe was conformed to the genes in her DNA and she could could bear the power they came came with so she would be just fine and was happy to help Lilith and make her happy.

However, they spoke none of these to Lilith as they wished to surprise her. They knew her she would not be expecting the outcome of their gathering today, the day of their mutation as she they were sure she believed that by now, Rain's syringe number has already been changed and she was no longer going to become the light mutant she was meant to become. But that was where she was wrong, as Rain kept the syringe number and was ready to take it and face the outcomes so long as she keeps her happy. She looked at her calm emotionless face by her left and saw from that angle that her purple eyes were kind of tearing up. She smiled slightly to herself as she knew they would dry up soon when she gets to realize the decision she finally settled for.

She squeezed her hand a bit and got her attention. She turned to her with her face still void of emotions, not sad not happy but she still managed to smile to her. Rain return the smile the most beautiful way she could before turning back to face the sensei.

Lilith saw the smile on her face, it was so genuine and natural. Does that mean thar she was aware of what she did?' she wondered within her, still staring at Rain. She knew she did not let any of them know of what she did the night Rain told them about the mysterious man and his words. She was too obsessed with becoming the light mutant and saving Gorgor that she could not let Rain spoil her plans by disclosing what the man said to the grand sensei and getting a change of syringe.

She had visited Nexine that night without anyone's knowledge because she needed his help to switch her syringe with Rains. If Rain did not want to take the risk for her which she totally understood, that does not mean she was going to let this opportunity that came on a platter of gold to slide. She was sure she and Nexine were sworn enemies but she was going to do everything within her power to make him help her, even promising him anything she could give even if it was the impossible because at this state, nothing was impossible for her to give just to have that syringe number.

She had met with him that night on the training grounds and as expected, he refuse to help her, he even took the option to engage her in combat.

"I said I have not come to fight with you Nex" Lilith said within hard breathes as Nexine gave her a hard kick at the abdomen. "I want to ask you for your help".

"My help?" he scoffed looking at her with disgust. "Between beating you to a pulp and hearing you out Lilith, the option is simple. I will gladly go for beating you to a pulp". He had this smug on his face and he was not at all ready to hear her out.

"Please Nex! I promise to give you anything you ask for once you grant this request to me. Please I beg you" her tone was sincere and Nex was tempted to hear her out especially because she said she would grant him anything he asked for and there was this one thing he wanted so much that only she could help him get at this moment.

"Fine" he breathed "what do you want?"

Lilith looked shocked for some seconds, that did not take much as she thought it would. She pulled herself together immediately and spoke to him.

"I want you to help me access my file and Rain's" she wore a serious looked, looking him directly in the eye as she searched for words to convince him in case if he disagrees which was 75% possible now.

"Your file and Rain's?" he raised a brow.

"Yes" she quickly nodded.

"Hmmm. And is Rain aware of this?" he gave her a questioning look.

"Ehm..." she rolled her eyes, thinking of what to say. "Yes, she is. She is. I just want to affirm something in our files. Actually, she asked a favour from me that I look through our files" she immediately made Rain the subject as she knew how much Nex wanted to please Rain just to win her heart.

"She asked you?" he looked like he doubted her.

"And why would she ask you to do such a thing. What would you want to access in your files" he narrowed his eyes.

"It is private Nex. Would you help me or not?" she raised her chin.

"I will" he nodded. "But one condition"

She got ready to hear the worst. What could she expect from a demeanor like Nex. "What is that?"

"That I get to spend a night with Rain" he had a dirty smirk on his face.

"What?!" she was shocked. She expected something worst, not worst than worst. "That is never happening, you know that is not possible".

"Then forget about the files. It's either I get the one night stand with her or nothing" he looked serious and there was absolutely nothing she could do or say to change his mind.

She thought it through. Selling her friend or saving Gorgor. The discussion was very hard but she considered what was most important to her, which was saving Gorgor and getting reunited with her prince Andreas. So she accepted his terms. Besides, what could possibly go wrong if she does not keep to her, absolutely nothing.

"Fine. I will get you the one night stand with her but not now"

"When?" he looked a bit pissed by her reply.

"After the mutation, Florate won't leave her side now but after the mutation everyone will have responsibilites and he will".

"So...?"

"So... I will arrange the night for you then".

"Is that a promise?"

"I give you my word" she looked serious and spoke honestly which made him believe her.

"Good then. Follow me"...

And that was how she sold her best friend. And looking at Rain now, she had no idea it would hurt this much but she did what she had to do. She made the right choice of what was of most importance. Love over friendship, what truly matters. Besides, if Rain had agreed to her words then, she would not be forced to make the decision she made. This was her fault in a way too but she was going to make everything right.

After the mutation and saving of Gorgor, she would do everything possible to make sure Nex gets disappointed...
