Motus:

Two months later.

No! No! NO!

"None of that will work." I shouted. My voice echoed in the empty room. I had locked myself in my office for the past few weeks. I'd been trying to come up with a way to get rid of Gora. I preferred not to kill her. I knew if she were to die, the King might go mad. I thought about killing the King himself, but I couldn't bring myself to do that. I hated to admit it, but I loved Gorro like a brother.

"Damn it!" I screamed. I hated myself for being so soft. The old me wouldn't hesitate to kill him if it meant saving the demon kingdom. I had done it before to get rid of Gorro's father. I was the one to develop the new system—a system designed to appease the eight tribes and create an even stronger, more united demon race. But now, that same system threatened to bite me in the ass. (This is all your fault, Nova! I should have killed you earlier.) I thought. Nova was never meant to leave her mountain.

She was an essential part of my plan to usurper the old demon king. Gorro wasn't supposed to fall in love with her. Now I'm in this mess. The only reason the other demon tribes hadn't rebelled is that they were all connected directly. They all had a hope that their prince would be the next King. Thanks to Gora, that may all be ruined.

After meeting the princess a few days ago, I knew it was only a matter of time before the trouble would start. The damn girl had gotten extremely lucky not only with awakening all ten layers. But she also reached a satanic body. Thinking about it made my head hurt. She would've made a perfect queen if not for her bloodline. A piece of me was sad to see such an asset wasted. (Too bad she has to go.) I thought as I sipped on my wine. I was sure Gorro would choose the princess as his heir. Despite my objection.

Bang bang!

I heard someone knock on my door. I figured it was just one of my attendees who came to see if I was okay. I was about to tell them to leave when the door opened. I rose to my feet when I saw who it was.

"My King!" I said, bowing. Gorro looked different than usual. Instead of his trademark grin, he wore a gloomy look on his face. He gestured for me to sit back down. I did as I was told, but I felt uneasy from his arrival. Instead of talking, he walked towards the window. He was deep in thought as he stared out the window. I elected not to speak as well. He clearly had something on his mind.

"I have come to make a deal with you." The King said in a low tone. He still didn't turn around to face me.

"What kind of deal my lord?" I ask, confused with his statement. (What is the planning?) I thought, trying to get a read on the man.

"I understand what type of person you are Motus. Your a schemer by nature so I know youll undermind me in some way. So before that." The King paused and turned to me. His yellow eyes locked on to mine. I wanted to deny it, but I knew he would see right through the act.

"I going to make the first move. I've decided to send Gora on the trail of Kings." Gorro said, placing his hands on the table. (Has he gone mad, we got rid of that trail after we defeated Gorren, the old King.) I thought as I looked at him. The trial was a made-up event used to get rid of a potential rival. Gorro's father had used it to get rid of his brother. Does Gorro want to kill Gora?

"I know what your thinking but this time, I'm talking about the real deal. We send her away until she's strong enough to take the throne herself." The King said with a smirk. If I understood him correctly, he was willing to let Gora go for now. His plan was acceptable to me. It meant I wouldn't have to kill Gora myself, and It would appease the tribes for now. But why was he willing to do it now all of a sudden.

"We needed to stay united in the coming days. Ive just recived word that a dark king has been born. The last thing we need now is a civil war." Gorro explained. I was taken back by his words. A Dark King meant the Elvan would invade soon. Meaning we couldn't afford to be weakened even a little bit.

"We obviously wont tell the others why she really left. We'lll come up with some story to tell them." He finished as he sat down. He had a massive grin on his face now, like he had solved everything. I thought about his proposal for a moment. With Gora gone, the tribes will relax, but If Gora can reach her full potential. I had no hope I would be able to stop her. On the other hand, she could end up dead on her way back. That would solve all my problems.

"You said you wanted to make a deal, but I don't understand your terms." I said. I was on the fence about his plan. I didn't believe he would just let Gora go so easily. It wasn't like the stubborn man I knew.

"Oh, its simple. A life for a life. I plan on risking the life of my child and I want your life as collateral." Gorra said. He had a mischievous smile on his face, and I felt a chill roll down my spine. There was a high chance Gora would die in the King's trial. This meant that I would have a high probability of dying as well.

"Whats the altunative?" I asked, trying to keep a calm face. I didn't want to gamble my life. I regretted my word the moment I spoke them. Black lighting crackled around Gorro. His yellow eyes began to glow as he released his full killer intent directed at me. I swallowed hard but kept a straight face.

"The alturnatives are. I kill all eight general and you and appoint new leaders who don't question my decisions. This might weaken us for a time, but we could fight back the invasion with ease if I can foster Gora's potential unhindered." The demon king announced. (He wouldn't do such a thing? Would he?) I thought as I observed Gorro.

"Do not force my hand, Motus! It won't end well for either of us." Gorro threatened, his aura intensified, making the air harder to breathe.

Clank Clank!

I heard the sound of metal hitting the ground outside the room. It might have been the guards stationed outside. They must have collapsed due to the King's Arua. I, too, was having a hard time staying conscious. His aura was just too suffocating. I was no real match for him by myself. Although I had ways of getting rid of him, the chances were still slim to none. ( He's backed me into a corner.) I thought with a smile.

"Okay I agree with your deal on one condition. Mog stays here." I stated. Mog was a powerful symbol of the royal family. If she left with Gora, things might get a little complicated. I also knew Mog was attached to the girl and would never let her leave alone. Gorro would never convince Mog to go along with his plan.

"Good then we are in agreement. Your life for Gora's, if she dies so do you." The King said, standing up. He had retracted his blood lust and was now back to his joyful self. It confused me. He was so quick to agree with my terms. (What's his plan with Mog?) I thought as I watched Gorro start to leave.

"We'll work out the details tommorow. Oh, and you better get prepared. Were going to have to detain a pretty pissed off snake if we want this plan to work." He said before exiting.

"Wait!" I screamed at him, but he was already gone. I knew chasing him would be no good. (So he's not planning on talking to Mog at all.) I thought as I chugged the rest of my wine. I got rid of one headache only to be replaced by another. Still, I couldn't believe he wanted to do the King's trial. But I knew it was probably our only choice. A rebellion had been brewing ever since Gora's Awakening. It felt like a powderkeg waiting to blow. The King's trial may be the only way to save the kingdom, even if it would cost me my life. Now All I had to worry about was Mog.

The Kings Trial: This is an event used by the old demon king to prepare his heirs. The King would exile a potential heir why they were young. The hope was that the heir would be strong enough to survive and come home to claim the throne. In reality, the old King would simply kill them and use the event as a cover.
