Talented Me! 02

[Initiating transfer sequence. 10% … 25% … 55% … 85% … 97% … 100% Transfer success. Welcome to mission world I Am a Star]

The same mechanical voice that allowed her to go to the last world sounded again for this world. Pieces of the white space peeled away slowly revealing a new room. The clothes she was wearing twinkled white before changing into a school uniform. As the last speck of light vanished, her entire world was different. She was successfully in another mission world.

Staring at her surroundings, there were rows of desks with the left wall filled with large panels of glass. From the sky, Avina realized it was evening in this world. Looking down at her uniform and touching her head, she twiddled with her pigtail braids hanging on her chest. She looked down at her desk and couldn't help but nostalgically touch it.

It was the same cold plastic of her world with the same little storage unit underneath. It was made of light-colored wood and stood up with metal legs. Avina pulled out her chair, making a screeching sound against the floor, and sat down laying flat onto the desk. Stretching, she asked 5025 to give her the information about the mission world.

A mild headache spread through her head before disappearing. A flurry of memories and plots appeared vividly in her mind. Slowly, her face contorted into confusion and disgust.

I Am a Star was a modern entertainment novel. It focused on Adi Ren and her rise to stardom. It starts at the beginning when she is still a high schooler, and she auditions to participate in the show "Who I Am" creating her popular image of a young, innocent starling. Pivoting off of the popular TV show, she successfully entered into the entertainment world and began her rise to fame.

Then, who was Wilona? Wilona was a friend of Adi - was. Both of them auditioned for the show, but only Wilona received an invite back. Adi, despite being the "innocent" heroine, was extremely jealous.

Adi planned to have Wilona miss the show, take her place, and at the very end, make Wilona feel guilty even though Adi was the mean one! Basically, Wilona was a little innocent cannon fodder who barely lived for a chapter despite being the best friend and was used to allow Adi the start of her fame.

In the novel, it never explained how Adi stole her friend's placed, but in Wilona's memory it was more than clear. She directly stole the letter because it was the only verification needed. The people of the show did not know who was who but identified them by the letter sent.

Adi was selfish and thought anyone who stood in her way was a villain. Knowing that Wilona stood in her way to fame, she cut ties with Wilona and made her isolated from the rest of their peers. Once again, similar to Ariel, Wilona was not a villain, but here she was, titled villain.

Graham Lin was the producer of "Who Am I" and various other famous shows. He was a natural star finder, and the reason why Adi rose to the height she was so fast. Without him, how could Adi ever dare dream of making it big. The entertainment wasn't some playground for selfish princesses after all, at least, not if you weren't rich or influential.

The mission was to make Wilona famous, and the start of it will be to prevent Adi from stealing her spot. The next step would be to impress Graham! Now, wherein the plot was she…

'How far are we in the plot?' Avina continued to lie flat on her desk allowing the cold to cool her cheeks.

5025 flipped through its database scanning the timeline, 'This should be the time when Adi discovers you have the invite.'

At the moment 5025's last words were uttered, the door to the classroom slammed open. It shook the frames of the door, and in came a girl with anger streaked across her face. She rushed towards Avina and hit the desk with her two hands, creating a loud boom.

"How awful! They rejected me! What about you?" Adi stood up crossing her arms arrogantly staring at Wilona's stupid face, "You probably got rejected too."

Avina stared at the very annoying person in front of her face and wondered if this was how she was. Although she gladly admitted to being everyone's spoiled princess, she never considered herself to be as arrogant as Adi. How on Earth did anyone think Adi was 'innocent'? Blind, they must be blind.

Wilona looked at her best friend and hesitated. Ultimately, she didn't tell Adi the truth. "Yeah, I didn't get one either." Lightly smiling, she looked down at her desk avoiding Adi's eyes. She couldn't let Adi discover her lies.

"Hmph! That's for sure. Hurry up, I've been waiting for you to carry my bags," Adi turned around and strutted out of the classroom. Slamming the door close again, she was finally gone.

Avina's face turned frozen and she asked, '5025, where is the invite?' She looked inside her desk, patted her pockets, and opened her notebooks, but no letter. That letter was going to be the start of Wilona's fame! She can't lose it!

'In her diary! It's at home!' 5025 shouted! Avina had left the memories to be last to digest. It was long and tedious, and she didn't have time to rake through it.

Grabbing her bags, she rushed down the stairs, avoiding the one with Adi waiting. No way was she carrying her bags! Carrying them yourself, Your Royal Meanness!

Wilona had a bike, and it waited outside the back of the school. Usually, she would help Adi with her bags before riding her back on her bike. Instead of a friend, Wilona was more like a servant.

Avina hopped onto the bicycle, found her balance, and pedaled. Flying across the sidewalk, the wind blew her pigtails behind her. Her uniform danced against the wind, and luckily, she was wearing shorts underneath. With a bright smile streaming across her face, Avina pedaled all the home.

5025 watched its happy host and couldn't help but worry for its Host, 'What if Adi comes back for revenge?'

Rolling the bike to the back, Avina let out a tired sigh. 'Even if I didn't leave her, she would have taken revenge just by me having an invite.'

Avina unbuckled the helmet and placed it in the basket, 'Anyways, what happened to your cat form?'

5025 tilted its head, 'Do you want me to physically appear in front of you? Some hosts don't like their systems visible…'

'But I do! I think your cat form is really cute,' Avina stood in place waiting for 5025 to reveal itself. Once a little cat appeared in her bicycle basket, she reached out and ruffled its head.

Wilona lived with her parents and older brother, but they all worked very late. So when Avina stepped inside, it was empty without a single light on. Maybe that was why Wilona accepted Adi's mean actions; it was because she was lonely. A friend was better than none.

Of course, Avina would argue that no friends was better than a mean friend. No one was allowed to bully this princess! No way!!

Avina ran to Wilona's room and searched for her diary. Opening it, a letter fell softly to the ground. Avina reached out grabbing the letter and opening it. Yes, this was the invite - the letter to fame!

While carefully reading the letter, her phone rang. At first, she didn't pick it up, flipping through the letter feeling excited. But the caller persisted, and Avina could not continue to ignore it. Picking it up, she grumbled, "Hello?"

"Where are you!?" a furious shout exploded from the small flip-phone, and Avina pushed the phone away from her ears. The name on the screen, Adi.

Find a good friend, dear readers! Thank you for reading! :)
