{ CHAPTER - 38 } THE RESULTS OF HARD WORK

He anticipated it would be a bit difficult, but it has already taken up virtually all of his day.

It was simple for him to say so because all he was doing was putting more weight on his back as Karma felt compelled to lower and then raise his body.

As darkness fell, all he did was repeatedly break his body till the monster was happy.

And if that wasn't enough, he was lying on his back, reading a "book."

"H– How... Many... More..."

The devil abruptly decided to gain weight at that precise instant after having an idea.

"Wow– .... W...hat ... The hell ..."

(It is your last one so do it with a little more weight)

"Y–You...."

Even before gaining weight, he was on the verge of giving up, but after doing so, it became nearly impossible.

His hands appeared to be on the verge of breaking. His hands' palms felt as though they were on fire.

"Fucker!!...."

He exerted all of his remaining strength in one more effort to get himself off the ground, pushing himself over his breaking point.

His hands immediately became numb as soon as he moved as far away from the ground as he could.

!Thud!

He fell with a thud straight on his face and hit the ground.

"G... Et ...off....m...me"

(Oh yeah)

As soon as the massive weight chose to depart, he felt his spirit returning to his body.

(Congratulations on your first day.)

He thanked him for persevering, but when he looked down at him, he received no response.

(K... Karma? Are you alive?)

Incredibly pissed Karma burst out in anger as he was still laying down "You fucking demon, why did you increase the weight. It's still my first day too"

(It's for your good so stop complaining)

Karma was still lying on the ground with his head bowed, speaking as his only sign of life.

(Why are you not getting up?)

This further angered him as he shouted at him "BECAUSE I CAN'T, ACH–"

As the agony hit him first, he was unable to complete what he was saying. As he spoke, he had to temporarily control his rage.

"I can't move. I don't feel anything except my fast heartbeat"

Karma was lying face down, his back moving up and down as he huffed and puffed.

"My body is not moving with all the stress it is under right now"

It was the result of pushing your body over its normal boundaries and overworking it, which is only natural.

As he whispered in a hushed voice, the monster is facing downward (Well that is only natural, a human body is weak, to begin with)

As Karma heard him muttering to himself, he became more and angrier.

"Stop babbling to yourself and use that healing of yours already. I'm dying here"

Indulging in self-thinking, the demon seemed to have entirely forgotten about his gift, but Karma reminded him.

(Oh, yeah, that's right)

The moment the demon pointed his right hand in the direction of Karma's back, a green coating materialized out of thin air.

The green layer had the appearance of a blanket because Karma was completely enclosed within it.

Karma was covered by the blanket, which then abruptly vanished into thin air as if it had never existed.

Karma flinched his finger, indicating full healing, and he felt rejuvenated.

He pulled himself away from the earth, put his hands down, and rose to his feet.

He fisted closed and then opened, feeling the power in his arms.

He first noticed the muscles in his legs since he was only partially clothed.

"I feel refreshed. Also, it feels lighter than before"

He stepped up to the bathroom mirror and was shocked to see what was in front of him.

"Wow"

He could only utter one word of amazement when he noticed that his physique had become more muscular.

Although he didn't have obvious six-pack abs or particularly large forearms, his body was far better than it had been.

(Look how much you have improved in just one day)

Karma felt stronger than previously as a result of the changes his body underwent.

"Hmm, I'm still perspiring. I ought to take a bath."

He decided to take a shower, which he desperately required after the activity, even though his body was still coated in perspiration.

Every drop of water that came in contact with his skin had a delayed impact, assisting him in washing himself.

He came out of the shower and put a towel around his head, still drying his hair.

He had an important realization about halfway down the corridor, so he put his palm on his abdomen and muttered to himself, "I'm hungry."

All the healing ability of the demon does is help you recover from your injury or fix up your torn muscles.

So no matter how much you heal yourself, you will still feel hungry.

The demon's healing power just aids in your injury recovery or the repair of your damaged muscles.

You will therefore continue to feel hungry no matter how much you cure yourself.

Karma dressed quickly and went directly to the kitchen.

He opens the refrigerator to get the chicken, some veggies, and several eggs as he checks the items he purchased from the store.

(What are you making?) the demon said as he approached him from behind.

"I'm preparing some rice with chicken, some veggies, and some boiled eggs," he replied after washing the vegetables and the chicken.

(That's a lot for one person, can you eat all that by yourself?)

"I feel like I can eat all of it. I have never felt this hungry in my lifetime"

While preparing the chicken, he cleaned the rice and cooked the eggs. He cut the veggies and added them to the chicken in a large saucepan.

He covered the light as he awaited completion. He waited for 40 minutes before the aroma signaling the completion of supper entered his nostrils.
