!Clack!
"Hmph, what's wrong with him telling us to go back? We were just concerned about him but this is how he treats us"
He shut the door after entering and remained there, his back to the door, listening to they whine outside.
"Whatever, guys, let's go!"
As they walked away, the room become incredibly silent; Karma could even hear his heartbeat as he struggled to control his breathing.
(It appears you won't have to kill anyone)
To see whether they were still there, he cautiously opened the door, but he could not see anyone standing outside. Everyone departed.
As soon as he noticed that they had left, he exhaled a sigh of relief and went inside.
The home was in shambles when Karma made his way to the living room. He took a moment to survey the situation before moving on.
While Agastha was still standing there, observing him from behind, he went and sat down on the couch, stretched out his legs and arms, leaned his head back in tension, and closed his eyes as he attempted to unwind a little.
Agastha had been watching him closely for the past few days, especially since the night of the event. Every time Karma felt low or stressed out, or even when rage overcame him, Agastha continued to observe without saying much.
Since Karma is his conjurer, it wasn't that he didn't care about his mental condition; in fact, he had to. However, the fundamental problem is that Agastha himself could not comprehend human emotions, so how could he attempt to soothe Karma?
Watching Karma becoming tense or upset just increased his worry that Karma wouldn't be able to keep up his half of the bargain.
Karma's sleep was interrupted by a persistent glare that concerned him, so he looked over and questioned. Could you not look at me?
Agastha approached him from behind and gently covered his eyes with his hands as he did so.
(Do you not feel burdened?)
What is he talking about? Karma was confused?
"What are you saying all of a sudden."
With his hands, he caressed his head while comforting him and asked again. (Do you not feel burdened by the death of your parents)
He shouldn't have but for some reason, Karma was feeling comfortable in his hands. "Why do you care?"
(Karma, do not forget that we are a team, course I'd feel bad for you)
For some reason, Karma felt comfortable even in his words. "Is that so?"
As he listened to his words more and more, they became consoling.
(I will assist you in doing this so that you might exact revenge on those who made you suffer.)
He inquired as his eyelids closed from over-comfort. "You'll... Help me? Why?"
(Didn't I tell you? We are a team)
He was losing himself in the luxury, which was suddenly becoming too much. "We're... a team?"
(Yes)
He appeared to be hypnotized as he kept repeating Agastha's words. "We are... a team."
Agastha spoke in a soothing tone while gently cocking his head forward and leaning near to his ears. (Yes, that's right.)
Karma put his hands over his, tightened his hold on them, and remarked in a stern tone. "But teammates don't act this way tho."
He peeked from between his fingers and gave him a chilly stare with eyes that could see through anything.
(Tch so close)
While Karma lifted his hand away from his face, Agastha clicked his tongue.
"I became overly at ease and became aware that I was losing my senses; it was then that I understood why you didn't approach me when I became overcome with rage or guilt. You were searching for the right timing."
Agastha approached the sofa and stood in front of Karma feeling a little letdown.
"The right time to take control of me."
(What else was I meant to do, you were too consumed with regret to remember your objective)
Karma did have piercing eyes when he first looked at him, but it only lasted a few whiles. His eyes immediately became fearful of the truth.
He sighed as yet another wave of anxiety overcame him and continued, keeping his head low. "Yes, you're right; I now see that all I've been doing is wasting my time as "they" continue to search for that object in the Himalayas."
What was that? Agastha was taken aback that he understood it so immediately; he had anticipated that it would take him some time to process the loss of his parents.
Karma is unique since he was able to understand his flaws better than everyone else.
"I'll have to exert more effort since I know I'm not at my best right now. The sooner I can go past this since I'll have to eventually the better."
To get his body moving, he got up and looked about the home. "All right, let's get cleaning."
(Are you starting to get into it now?)
"Yes, I am. For the time being, it will be my motivation because I will eventually have to take action and I can't let those people disappear from my life after what they did to me."
As Agastha watched him slowly recover, he could not help but grin a little.
"Vengeance is my motive."
He rose, glanced around the room while trying to maintain his mental calm, then took a long breath before entering.
He then smacked himself and stated.
"This is not the time, wake up."
Although his condition had not improved, he was now prepared to try to move on.
Now that it was time to clean, Karma took a large bag and gathered the peels from apples, bananas, and the wrapper from the noodles he ate the night before.
The bag was sealed, and he set it to the side.
Then Karma took in the mop and started sweeping up the demon's blood off the floor. It was challenging to remove the blood stains, but he tried.
"There!, no more stains."
He carefully monitored his steps as he brought the bag of garbage and the passports with him and performed what needed to be done, making sure not to tread on anything sharp.
CHAPTER - 27 - TO BE CONTINUED
The author was now completely backed up in the corner with his back against the wall. The audience was poking him with their fingers, as they laughed at him.
